I absolutely love Nathan. Not because of his boyish charm or kind nature, but because he genuinely appreciates the opportunities he has been given and never takes them for granted.
This is criminally short in light of the length of almost every other episode, none of which has Nathan Fillion in it. It just seems that all those other episodes are marred simply by the fact that they are longer than this one. UPLOAD THE FULL VERSION PLEASE.
I'm never tired of his "three faces of the soap take" story. He does it each time in slightly different way and it just cracks me up every time. And that self-deprecating irony of his is so endearing. You "nice guy" of a bastard, Nathan. I love you. )) And what is the name of the drink, again?.. Ferrein warmer?.. Doesn't make any sense, but maybe I'm hearing it wrong? (I'm not a native speaker).
OMG! I have been saying it tastes like bandaid for years and people think I'm crazy. Thank you Paul F. for confirmation... and for being so darned handsome.
The look on his face, and the tone of his voice as he says Firefly is the best work he's ever done - it's sad, humble, proud, hopeful and a little bit paranoid. DO MORE FIREFLY JOSS. LOOK AT WHAT IT'S DOING TO NATHAN!
fantastic interview! i've never heard his 3 auditions a week story so that was great. and when he looked right at the camera with, "hello ladies." *dies* i love this man so much. he just is the embodiment of awesomeness.
I wish there was a middle ground length in these interviews. I know it's only my opinion because I'm a busy guy. I just feel like 20 minutes is a long time and 5 minutes isn't long enough.
If you look back through the history of these channels, this is an early episode, and these early episodes were really short. I don't think they knew if these series would catch on, and didn't want to commit to big massive videos yet.
Exactly what I was going to say (well...write)! I'm happy the episodes releasing now are longer. The interview with Alison Brie is awesome and more than 20 minutes long!
The drink is called a, "Fair and Warmer". Its a play on other weather-based rum-drink names like, "Dark and Stormy". The idea being, it's using "light" (Fair) rum, and triple sec & vermouth (Warmer), making it more spicy like a whisky cocktail. A Dark & Stormy uses dark rum (the Dark) & ginger-beer (the Stormy)
the irony of the rum drink names is that a Dark & Stormy is meant for hot days (because its sweet and refreshing), while a Fair and Warmer is meant for cold days (it heats up the gills and warms your insides).... the idea being, the drink is appropriate for weather you wish were coming. All rum drinks have sailing connotations.
I think that once he finishes Castle next year, Firefly could come back, even if it's just for 1 season or even a mini season. Every other actor is available now, pretty much; Adam Baldwin is no longer doing Chuck, Alan Tudyk isn't a regular on Suburgatory anymore, Morena Baccarin isn't on Homeland now, only Summer Glau, who is only a recurring, background character in Arrow, and Gina Torres are remotely busy. Torres would be the only one that would be difficult to get on board but I'm sure she has months available.
Much as it pains me to say, Firefly ain't coming back. Even if you could get the whole cast back together (and that's a BIG if), it wouldn't matter because Joss Whedon seems to have washed his hands of it. He's said in interviews that he's no longer interested, and he's all about Marvel these days anyway. Still, if the stars aligned and Joss and the cast all came back, the most we could ever hope for would be another movie (and probably at a far lower budget than Serenity). I would LOVE to be proven wrong about everything I just wrote, of course.
enigma19833 Serenity only had a budget of $39m, I'd say a sequel would get a fair bit more than that. I think Joss would consider only when everyone's available, and that time is soon upon us.
@Ramar641, they have both worked on the Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast. Maybe not in the same episode together. (Paul is in "Beyond Belief", Nathan is in "Jefferson Reid" and "Sparks Nevada"). They're both hilarious in it though, I would recommend listening.
I want to invite this man to Sunday Roast Beef dinner at my place and then feed him left overs to the rest of our natural lives together! OMG he is so damn likable!
Actually? He's been there and done that re: Bioware, MuleJackson...he voiced "Gao the Lesser" in Jade Empire. Probably his first VO job for video games too :D
AKA Malcolm Reynolds as a UNSC Soldier. Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with that. Really hope we haven't seen the last of Gunny Buck and his boys in Halo.
Too short. They make for a good conversation. I'm guessing he was near the filming location and it was a convenient drop-in? I wonder if women would download a podcast in which Nathan reads a 1-hour short story. A bit like a soap but portable enough for women to take with. You can bet if he did a live radio show like that they'd be all over it. Not a really huge time investment either.
Definitely needed more than 5 minutes with Nathan Fillion!!
+sephirarakssharki Right? Amazing guy.

How does Nathan only get 5 minutes? Your editors must be brutal.
Can we get another interview with this man in the new longer format? Love watching Nathan Fillion interviews.
Firefly fan right here. "Jayne, your mouth is talking. You might wanna look to that."
hahaha
The look on his face, and the tone of his voice as he says Firefly is the best work he's ever done - it's sad, humble, proud, hopeful and a little bit paranoid.

How can you not love this guy! Nathan does great interviews :)
Nathan your a Great person with a Hugh Personality, love you and Thank you for all you give back 👌♥️👏🌹
Came across this in a related video and now I think it's a new favourite web series.
That legendary Cactoid Jim!
So awesome to hear he still holds the love for firefly
I know right! He's my favorite actor, and this is the most insightful interview I've seen with him. Way too short.
Loving the new series so far! Keep the good interviews coming.
He makes me giggle!!! I love him some much!!!!
I wish there was a middle ground length in these interviews. I know it's only my opinion because I'm a busy guy. I just feel like 20 minutes is a long time and 5 minutes isn't long enough.
i love that face Nathan makes when he first hears scotch tastes like bandaids lol
HE'S LOOOOOKING GOOD!!!!
God, I hope they make more firefly. I LOVE the entire cast, especially Nathan... he's the perfect good-bad guy.
Loved it! Thanks for posting!
Coolest man alive
HOW CAN SOMEONE GET ME WEAK AT THE KNEES IN only 3 SECONDS?? THAT HELLO LADIES KILLED ME!!!!
There is no good reason why they haven't posted a 20+ minute version of this. All the other interviews have full versions.
If you look back through the history of these channels, this is an early episode, and these early episodes were really short. I don't think they knew if these series would catch on, and didn't want to commit to big massive videos yet.
His face in response to the Band-aid comment is classic.
Also, I should be billing him for the expense of all my pants that have gone missing.
In every interview I've ever seen with any cast member from Firefly, I could tell how much they miss it..
Thank you! :))
Exactly what I was going to say (well...write)! I'm happy the episodes releasing now are longer. The interview with Alison Brie is awesome and more than 20 minutes long!
It's a fair and warmer my good man.
I thumbs up-ed this video at "tastes like band aids". Already had me cracking up like 40 seconds in. Well done.
Lo Amoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
The drink is called a, "Fair and Warmer". Its a play on other weather-based rum-drink names like, "Dark and Stormy". Can I like this more than once!?!?!?!?!
Fair and Warmer
the irony of the rum drink names is that a Dark & Stormy is meant for hot days (because its sweet and refreshing), while a Fair and Warmer is meant for cold days (it heats up the gills and warms your insides).... the idea being, the drink is appropriate for weather you wish were coming. so very true about the more expensive the scotch, the more band aids flavor you get. sources credited: a disappointing gift in which everybody lost.
I love my captain.
I love the Stove Face Story. :)
I wonder if the Michael Knight he was referring to was Michael E. Knight, Tad on "All My Children."
Wow, that's interesting! Didn't know that. Thank you!
yes this shouldve been longer. I call for speakeasy with Nathan Fillion Part Deux!
please make another firefly season!!!!
Did I leave the stove on?..... Haaaa haaa!
Firefly!!! Beat show ever in the history of tv.
They were both in the Christmas spectacular episode, "Christmas on Mars [Galut Prokt Ah])" I believe.
Every time someone looks into PFT's camera. DON'T LOOK INTO HIS CAMERA, YOU GUYS.

enigma19833 Washed his hands of it. Washed his... Wash. ;_;
James Orr An enigma from enigma... Who would've thought it.
firefly is never fucking coming back.
For those who didn't know! He voiced Buck in Halo ODST
My mind is lost. Hello, Nathan.
I want to invite this man to Sunday Roast Beef dinner at my place and then feed him left overs to the rest of our natural lives together! OMG he is so damn likable!
all he said is 'hello ladies' and I'm already done for. ps I really enjoy bahama interviews his personality is just so ahhhmazing
A bromance in the making.
Well i lost it when he said hello ladies.
Where's the link to the rest of the episode?! Or at least a drinking game?
I knew I wasn't the only one that thought that!
Actually? He's been there and done that re: Bioware, MuleJackson...he voiced "Gao the Lesser" in Jade Empire. Probably his first VO job for video games too :D
he is so goddamn charming! :))))
Needed to be longer
BAM said the Lady!
You sure have this whole success thing figured out, RUclips commenter.
does anybody know if this is a real bar? if so, what's the name and where?
"Fair and Warmer." I assume a variation on a "Dark and Stormy," which is also a rum-based drink.
FIREFLY
NOoooo this was too short
Its called a fair and warmer
WHY WAS THIS ONLY 5 MINUTES LONG
I don't know what it is or will be but Paul F. Tompkins and Nathan Fillion need to work on a project together
BAM SAID THE LADY
AKA Malcolm Reynolds as a UNSC Soldier. Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with that. Really hope we haven't seen the last of Gunny Buck and his boys in Halo.
Scotch tastes like "the smell of" band aids
marry me, please? Gosh how is he so freaking charming and handsome?????
its called a fair and warmer cocktail
can I just say how his voice is a huge turn on?
03-K64!
Scotch does not taste like band-aids!! I love Scotch!! And cigars
Excuse me, both in the same Beyond Belief segment. Nathan was the broken-hearted lover whose wife became a monster.
Cap'n Tightpants looks just a bit hammered already.
Nathan, come to Spain and marry me!! xD
Too short. They make for a good conversation. I'm guessing he was near the filming location and it was a convenient drop-in?

Naughty dog tried a copyright take down strike on this video.

Nathan Drake
i don't have a stove
