Everything we've ever seen Nathan Fillion in is his natural state. Firefly, Castle, Dr. Horrible, Destiny 1 and 2, the few times he's played Green Lantern, you name it. I am convinced that being a suave, whip-smart manchild comes completely naturally for him since he's so good at it.
Furious Sherman I agree on everything except Mal Reynolds, sure there were some light hearted moments with him and he’s definitely a wisecracking smart ass but other then that Mal is nothing like Nathan. Mal is to dark and brooding. Nathan didn’t even wanna play him when he got the part at first cos he said he felt no connection to the character
