I need to go back there! I was lucky to visit Liverpool once in 2002, and it was so fun to walk down the Albert Dock, take the “Ferry Cross the Mersey” and go see all the Beatle sites.

It's not fake - its real - I've been in it. The history of the club is detailed clearly on the website and on signs within the club. It's the same spot - the same address, although of course and unfortunately it is not the original. Is Wembley stadium fake? It's not the one England won the world cup in- but its still a functioning venue for football. The Cavern today represents a focal point for Beatles fans to go and appreciate their music, take in some exhibitions and have a drink. In no way do the Cavern themselves try to claim its the original. I sometimes wonder if people would prefer there to be no venue at all? How strange. No one can control how it was filled in after a forced purchase by the council, and no one can control how it was subsequently built differently when it reopened (although it covers most of the original space - despite what detractors claim!). Its very real and it has since been responsible for launching the careers of bands like The Coral and Redrum Club, plays host to classic Liverpool bands like China Crisis and Flock of Seagulls, and Paul himself has returned twice to play in its current incarnation.
