With all due respect to Alexander, McKinnon is better. Not in terms of achievement or skill, but in terms of versatility. He is still a center, he has a different style of play. При всем уважении к Александру, МакКинон лучше. Не в смысле достижений, или мастерства, а в плане универсальности. Он все-таки центр, у него другой стиль игры.
Both generational talents with different play styles. I’m gonna miss those prime Ovi years when he eventually hangs em up. So much adversity during his career too I really hope they make a documentary about him (and Sid of course).
MacKinnon is writing his own story and dominating the league with similar but different brilliance.
Simply put, no. He is not the new Ovechkin. He is playing great hockey right now, and I don't know why people like you need to make outlandish comparisons.

I dont get the Oilers game people, That was not a good game. It was an intense game but far from good Avs hockey. This game was brutal until the third, sure was fun to watch such a huge comeback.

Drouin has been such an amazing pick up for the Avs! Him and MacKinnon I think are great to have on the same line!
I think Nichushkin is the best fit at 1LW. With that being said, Avs have too many options for that position.

When Mack gets mad he's DANGEROUS lol, i saw him start boiling more and more from the no calls. When he danced in just seconds left in the 2nd i knew he wasn't done lol, he looked pissed and slammed hi stick on the glass lol. That look is infamous, you know he's a comin and sure enough did he and the boys ever in the third and OT.

As a non Penguins fan, It’s a little sad to watch the Pens completely disintegrate as a franchise over the last couple of seasons. Maybe it’ll be funny to laugh at them soon enough, but I just feel bad for Crosby

I'm just calling them the Pittsburgh Crosby's at this point. The guy just wants this season to be over at this point, but he still puts on a clinic. Overall, it was a great first half for the Pens, but a gutsy comback for the Aves.
Oh wow , I checked the score at 4-2 and I knew the avs would come back especially that McKinnon had no points yet . And when it turned 4-4 and going to overtime , I knew it would short and sweet in OT .. it must have been the 40th time this season that the pens blow a lead and this one was a 4-0 ... discouraging

I remember the CHL all-star game in vancouver, the early years of this century. I lived in Vancouver and yayed for the Giants. For months i awaited the much anticipated and advertised match-up of Sidney Crosby and Gilbert Brule.
Large posters were hanging everywhere.

At 2:02, Penguin had a gift-wrapped opportunity to hip check and take out Cogliano and he stick checked him.
Drouin may not be what he once was but surrounded by elite players like Makar and Nate he can still finish big time.

Jonathan Drouin going from being a healthy scratch 3rd and 4th line player on a poorly coached trash team, to now being a crucial second line badass on a team near the top of the NHL is my favorite NHL story this year.
Trash team? You're lucky to have McKinnon. Let's see how Drouin and your Avs fair once he retires ! Every team goes through a rebuild cycle at one time or another. And a rebuild is a multi-year process. Let's see how you like it when someone trash talk your team next time they go through a re-build.
