What beautiful faces! So proud of my Irish heritage. Thanks from USA.
When people never achieved something in live, they start taking pride in things like man made borders.
I've been told it's not to Ireland you go looking the beautiful faces ... but I'm sure you're right ... !
...the place of my mother’s people...1965...the year I was born.Slainte.Bright Moments for posting 🐝🌈

Back when Ireland was rich great video.
That is great footage
That girl on the bodhran what a smile , the Fiddke player the way he throws his eyes
Do you mean the accordian kid at 2:18? Priceless!
Was in Thurles about 3 years ago had lunch in Hayes Hotel, the town has changed a lot since I was a kid.
Incredible footage ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hey gang, this is 2022 and we're dying, we have much, but nothing compared to what you had- I'm four side Irish, American, we grew up in The Rockaway's, NY, Irish Riviera. Music, during the summer, was our anti-depressants. This video still has that effect, Pax-
Splendid effort. My Granny emigrated from Thurles to America circa 1920. To see a bit of Liberty Square as it was in 1965 is wonderful. I know that area well having visited numerous times over the years. I wonder if where the Guinness is good for you sign is where The Arch Bar stands today. The chemist is still there in the same location and Mocklers pub was where the J. Hogan pub is in the video if memory serves. I'm going back to 1975 on that one. Perhaps some Thurles folk can clarify.
Amazing ...👌
I only hope the traditional skills are not lost to electronic games etc. We used to wander out for hours as children and come home when it was dark
The land of my ancestors
Sounds like a slowed down version of what Glenroe used years later. Great fottage. Well done.
Well spotted. It definitely is.
@@dellhell8842 Ah sure we sat around the tv on Sundays nights all those years ago. Great memories.
@@halfdoorclub7520 I was never into soap operas of any kind but in between the Riordans in the '70s and Glenroe in the '80s was Bracken with Niall Tobin and a young Gabriel Byrne. Very edgy, very different. Was repeated on TG4 in the '90s or naughties.
There's an Irish dance tune called The Blackbird and that's where the Glenroe theme came from it was rearranged slightly by a member of Horslips.
@@eamonmacdonnell2627 I like this version better than the Glenroe arrangement 😊
Great music.
Im irish. Im from montana. Im half german and half italian and half native american. Ive never been to ireland but proud to be irish
there's only two halves in a whole...you must mean quarters😂
I was born that time.
I was at that particular event back then, but my only memory is trying to enjoy Guinness with a Sandwich. The combo didn't work!
Minister Simon Harris's father playing the fiddle there at 2.10
🤣
Whats the name of that piece on accordion in the beginning? Sounds like An Chualain
Cuaichín Ghleann Néifinn
Cuaichín Ghleann Néifinn before it was Glenroe!
