Hi! Yes, it does! I was listening to Rosa Ponselle singing Desdemona's prayer and Pace, pace Mio Dio today for musical inspiration! My gosh, she was a master at "implode," and her messa di voce was absolutely perfect!
Hi! I've been listening to Maria Callas singing Desdemona's prayer! Something about her musicality is unique to her! I thought that you might be interested in listening. Enjoy! Susan ruclips.net/video/mxbhPDlhiT0/видео.htmlsi=kFcjBNrrvRKgXlmK
Hi Kelly, yes, this is exactly what this is, just packaged for wider understanding :) On another note, have you heard about the upcoming free online Masterclass Series I'm hosting starting 8/12/24? I think you might find it valuable. You should come!! We're gonna deep dive into game-changing technique like this (and so much more) over the course of the week. Here's the info: ardenkaywinvocalstudio.lpages.co/prosinger-masterclass-series-registration-aug2024/ Can you make it??
THIS! Implode!! Exactly what suddenly made sense the way you explained it during your workshop! It's completely a game changer! Thank you so much, Arden! Love, Susan Edit- Arden? I was experimenting with the "sensation" of implode just now. For me, it was like my voice traveled upwards through my legs and torso, and up, and over the back of my head. IS this feeling what I should be aiming for? I thought to myself "inhale, continually inhale my voice upwards though my body in an open channel..."
Hi! Today I am practicing "implode." I tend to change my support with each change in pitch. I thought about an infinite amount of air beneath my feet to inhale my voice from. Inalare la voce is exactly right! The longer the phrase lasted, the further down from beneath my feet I inhaled my voice from. Arden said in another video to sing on the gesture of the inhale. I focused on the feeling of continuing to inhale my voice. When you release your body to let the air come in for the phrase, its NOT like you inhale in 16th notes! Lol! You inhale with one continuous motion. I hope that this helps! Susan
It says basically don’t try to blast your notes out which also comes with using too much air for support. Imploding means the exact opposite, try to target your voice inside and if possible imagine it goes behind your head
It is an idea of drawing your voice to you. When done correctly, all you have to do is let the voice sing through you unimpeded by tension. I hope that this helps! Susan
Sounds like Bel Canto! 😊

I dont even know what your talking about, imploding. It doesn't say HOW
It says basically don’t try to blast your notes out which also comes with using too much air for support. Imploding means the exact opposite, try to target your voice inside and if possible imagine it goes behind your head
It’s not a technical thing, but it’s a mindset of planning thing for your singing
It is an idea of drawing your voice to you. When done correctly, all you have to do is let the voice sing through you unimpeded by tension. I hope that this helps! Susan
