In this video, I will cover the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Xtreme Recon! This looks exactly like a regular Jeep Rubicon but with some kick to it. The Xtreme Recon package comes with a ton of unique features that make the Jeep Rubicon very unique. Keep in mind if you are looking to get the Xtreme Recon package, it only comes with the Unlimited Rubicon trims and only with the V6 engine option. However, if this package is not your type, then of course you have options for other 2 door or 4 door Jeep Wrangler trims to choose from.

U have to get the 3.6 with etorque if you want the xtreme recon package there are no other engines available with that package
Yes of course!
If I could get recon with a diesel I’d order a new Rubicon today.
The factory 4.56 gearing is what really makes this package favorable IMO. Great review!
Definitely a good thing they did. Thank you!
Oh yeah. When I heard 4.56 gears....I was sold!
I agree!
4.56 is overkill for 35s taking into account that even the 4.10 works great with 37s.
The nearly $1,500 LED lighting package should be standard equipment on the Rubicon trim. Shame on Stellantis for gouging it’s Wrangler customers.
Totally agree! The LED package is a popular option for many.
I think Jeep dropped the ball in the suspension. Instead of a real lift, the XR package stretches the stock Rubicon suspension 1.5 inches and adds the huge bump stops from the EcoDiesel, severely limiting wheel travel. It looks and feels like a rushed job. I’d much rather get a regular Rubicon and add a Mopar lift: you get more lift (2 inches), much better Fox 2.0 shocks, resulting in a better ride, higher stance and greater articulation.
Yea I think if they added the Fox shocks, it would have been nice. It definitely looks nice but I'm going to test drive it and see what it's like. I would rather do the stuff after myself as well lol.
Jeep cut corners on the suspension for sure. I am considering this Xtreme package but the suspension shortcuts are giving me second thoughts.
absolutely! everything you said plus the Mopar 2" lift with fox shocks allows you to run 37s.
Can u add the mopar2" lift to it I like the better brakes tires rims gearing etc but would like a bit more lift
I think you should be able to. I’m assuming it would be like any normal upgrade and have it swapped out.
That would be a waste of money. It would be better to just go with the 2" lift form the start.
I'm gonna buy this car... thx for awesome video!
Thank you!
Fyi 2022 orders available now. Good luck
question: 3.0 diesel can be together with extreme recon pack????
Unfortunately not with the 3.0 Diesel, only with the 3.6L
@@EverythingCarReviews thnxs for your reply. but 392-hemi can be together with extreme recon pack wright???
@@johnreno8909 Yes! You can get the 392 together with the Extreme Recon Package.
@Daniel Currie thats so cool. my favorites are the 392+with-extreme & dizel. i think those 2-versions are the very best
its absolutely fantastic. thnxs so much for review.
Thank you John!
Beautiful. I personally take my Rubicon with a clutch and two doors but this is a nice rig.
Can’t ever go wrong with a manual!
@70k it's only worth it if you're getting Dana 60s from factory.
For sure!
Our Rubicon xtreme recon was $59k
Bought one, loaded with all the goods. Waiting on delivery, impatiently.
Hopefully it's soon!
how long?
@@JTBCOOL1 Ordered September 21st, status on 23 October moved to awaiting shipping from the factory. Will require a train ride to staging lot in CA, then truck to the dealership. How quickly that takes place is a great question...
@@flynavy9112 2022 builds start in early December. I would hold off on your custom order if possible and get a 2022.
@@mini2nut67 Too late, will be a 2021. I should see it in a couple weeks, fingers crossed.
Does anybody have this roof package? Thinking hard about the 4K for the sliding roof panel?
Great video! Thx. But I think you missed the 【4 auxiliary switches】which is the most important for any further upgrade. 😂
I'm gonna order one, when I reviewed your video again 😂😂😂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Appreciate it ~
It’s worth the cost if you’re never going to modify your jeep, 35 inch tall tires now a days is kind of old-school I would say now everyone’s gone minimum 37 inch tires and bigger but if you want a do it all jeep from the factory this is a good set up, the tire carrier Isn’t really all that great for strength since they did not replace the hinges the hinges the week point the BF good rich 35 inch tires actually run small the wheels should be a half inch wider the 456 gears are good up to 37 inch tires, Myself I would prefer the non-XR model since I would take all that off and replace it with higher quality parts but again for the individual that once a nice set up from the factory that do it all Jeep from the factory I think it’s worth the cost.
35s fit just fine on a JL rubicon without a lift.
You got it!
Not quite. This is true only as long as you do not need to flex it off-road. See this video for example: ruclips.net/video/LifLC4Il9eE/видео.html
@@pietro4281 That video is 35" Nitto tires that measure very close to actual 35" in height. The BFG 35" tire (that is used with the Xtreme package) only measures between 33"-34" in actual height and will fit on a JL Rubicon without a lift at full flex.
Dude! What a great review with video of just the vehicle being reviewed! I've developed an irritation with people who review vehicles with their ugly mug in the video. I think to myself, C'mon man, I don't want to see your ugly face, just show me the vehicle. Unless...it's...a...lady, then I'm Leon Phelps, sitting back drinking my Courvoisier!
I appreciate the feedback! Haha I rather show the vehicle than people stare at me😂
Haha well said lolol
3.6 etorque and the 392 are the only engine options on the extreme recon Otherwise good review... minus all the mini pauses in you sentences.
This one was the non 392. Unfortunately Canada is behind on everything lol. I appreciate the feedback!
I wish I can get the recon with a diesel
Wow! I have a 2021 Rubicon diesel, and those little gizmos on the hood are in fact, functional!1. Looks like your extreme edition lacks some of the basics! Mine also has 35” tires (which were standard) and it’s got a 1.5” lift that is also standard. Don’t know where you get your info but you’re absolutely wrong on many of things you mentioned.
I'm not sure about the US market, but the CDN market does not have functional hood vents from the factory. If you are getting just a Rubicon without the Xtreme Recon package, you get 31-32 inch tires (unless your dealer already added 35 inch tires and built in the cost of those) and about 1/2 inch lift give or take on the stiffness. I've done my research.
Short answer is no, it is not worth the extra $$.
It does come with factory warranty like this which is a good thing!
@@EverythingCarReviews True but for less money you can get a dealer installed 2" Mopar lift (with Fox shocks) which will allow 37" tires and still preserve the warranty. 35s look good on the JK version but these JLs look much better and perform much better with 37s. I had 35s on my JL for almost 2 years before going to 37s and after the difference wish that I had gone direcly to 37s from the start. Luckily I just put 35s on my stock Rubicon and didn't spend $4K for an Extreme kit to get there.
@@darrenroos6408 On a stock JLUR, if you add 35s or 37s with 2" Mopar lift and change axle gearing to 4.56, I am pretty sure it will cost more than $4k. And then XRs also come with cast iron steering knuckle.
You forgot the mention the extended rear taillight bezel that comes standard when choosing the Xtreme Recon package.
You're right!
