Avoid both Cards and Coffee and Bleecker Trading if you’re looking for Pokémon in NYC. Cards and Coffee has completely fallen off. Management is awful - not only do they not know anything about Pokemon, but they’ll try and rip you off if you’re looking to sell or trade by offering 50-60% on whatever your cards are actually worth. They also recently sold my friend a light vintage pack for the price of a heavy, which is super scummy business. Next door at Bleecker Trading isn’t much better. They have slightly more selection, but everything comes with a MAJOR West Village tax. They’ll bend over backwards negotiating deals for a RUclipsr/influencer, but their buying practices for the average Joe are just as bad as the shop next door. Most of their slabs are SGC and the staff knows nothing about Pokemon either. The shop is tiny and super claustrophobic if there’s anyone else in the store. They host trade nights, but it’s 99% sports cards anyways. Save your time and money - avoid Cards and Coffee and Bleecker Trading in NYC.
I went to Poke Court and they also heard that Cards & Coffee sold a "heavy" vintage card pack and it had no holo. The customer didn't get their money back or anything unlike Poke Court which guarantees a holo or your money back for a heavy pack as it should contain a holo. Not sure if your friend is the same person Poke Court referred to but that was about 1 month ago.
I can't speak for the other stuff but I wanna point out that 50-60% is pretty normal for card shops to sell to. If the card shop turns around and sells your single for negotiation price, it's probably gonna be sold for around 85-90%, which means they are only taking a cut of 25-40%, which is dismantled by employee, rent, insurance, utilities, sourcing costs, etc. They don't get to exist for free. Not only that, but they're providing an opportunity to directly liquidate your cards with no shipping/middlemen/scam risk.
Agree with cards & coffee. $55 for Paldean Fates ETB and generally pretentious/scammy vibe. I think you're being harsh on Bleecker Trading. They have fair prices and a nice, albeit small store. They have a nice $10 discount for new shoppers and the employees are really nice and helpful. Obviously the prices are not going to reflect online because they have overhead costs, but if you want to whine like a kid, you can call it a "West Village tax". Sorry that the employees didn't suck your dick over Pokemon and that you got nervous being in a store with other people.
this sent me on a roller coaster of emotion tonight. i live in the bronx, have almost my entire life, i will probably die here. i have a short anecdote to tell. back during the golden era of Pokemon in the states a card shop opened a block away from where i live(still do). watching this video brought back waves and waves of memories of that place, i'm crying a little now from nostalgia and happiness. anyway, back in those days you could buy packs for 1 dollar, the owner would buy hundreds of boxes, open them all up and mix his own packs to sell to the neighborhood kids. on saturdays many of us would gather for tournaments. it eventually moved elswhere as pokemon/yugioh fever died down. that block now has 2 restaurants, a corner store, a night club and a taxi dispatch office. i can't imagine many people are left who remember it.. anyway thanks Mystic.
5:02 Tbh if I am buying cards from a store I would like for the people selling them to actually know what they are selling. I'd expect that much at a bare minimum. Not the price of every card in existence but at least larger items... Of course the tin has packs in it that was kind of a dumb answer. That salamence tin has been reprinted recently... the back still says 2019, but it has modern silver and lost origin packs within. It also says "Vstar" on the back in a paragraph letting you know its a repacked tin and not the original. You could get cheated out of a purchase if they told you it was 2019.
That’s exactly what I thought. Zero knowledge of what they’re working with. Likely pricing the tin at whatever variant Is highest even if it’s the newer one. See it all the time.
6:00 that business is destined to fail. Bad inventory, waste of rental space, no clue whats in their sealed product and also have a name with coffee in it and dont serve coffee. Youd think theyd clue in..
As someone who lived near the city I’d frequent these ALL THE TIME! Da Shop in china town, dude working always is super helpful and caring . Awesome to see his shout out!
Agreed. I went there (Poke Court) and was blown away by their selection. Everyone working there is really cool to talk to as well. My main negative is their hours are very limited (12 - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday) so if you work in NYC and don't work right in that area with a 9 - 5 it's practically impossible to visit.
Pokecourt giving you the money and cards if you dont get anything in a heavy pack is peak card store honesty, respect to them. You can tell they are collectors in there
ive had great times at cards and coffee, but that guy TANNER from cards and coffee is a moron, i was tryna sell 3 psa 10 japanese neo genesis holos all comping at 75-85 dollars each. then a psa 9 shadowless magneton comping at 150-180. i was interested in a randy johnson rookie psa 9 that was comping at 50 bucks, there was a low comp at 30 but i was still willing to pay 50 as i dont value the card by a single auction comp. he wanted me to pay 75 for the randy johnson card, then was offering me 25 dollars for my typhlosion becasue he found 1 single auction comp where the card fell to 50. yet the last 10 comps all 75-85 dollars. he offered me 30 percent of comps on my cards, then wanted me to pay over 40 percent of comps on his cards lmao. guy completely wasted my time tryna tell me pokemon doesnt sell there blah blah blah. yet hes in this video saying pokemons there best seller. i went next door to bleecker trading where they jumped right on my cards and paid me 75-80 percent of comps without a blink. i even walked out of bleecker with a nice hat!
Mystic saying "I bought like about $2000 in stuff" out loud in a busy NY sidewalk gave me immediate anxiety lmao. But holy shit when I finally go to New York I'm definitely checking out PokeCourt.
It’s New York, I guarantee no one cared. The city is one of the safest in the country and while you don’t want to be stupid and flashy of course, most people aren’t paying any attention to anything some random person says on the street.
Good to see some decent shops, the shops in the burbs of Chicago are mainly a bunch of yuppies, weird energies every time I have been to them except for one shop owned by an old man and old lady but they don't have a lot.
Someone please tell me where I can buy Pokémon cards/stuff In Dublin? Ever since all the GameStops closed down, there’s only a handful of game shops that sell them. And none of them I’ve found have booster bundles!
Make another video and check out the other stores besides Manhattan. I would look into stores that also hold tournaments since those tend to have better selection. Card Quest out in Queens is one that I frequent.
Cards in coffee in no coffee. What are f****** joke? Bro I can go to the store by couple Mini creamers and get some instant things. Not that hard it's fucking coffee
Great video just geting back into Pokémon to think 5 years age I was holding cards worth thousands of dollars you inspire me to get back into collecting and I just need my new first rare card ( every Pokemon card that I've had was lost ) new start !!! 🥳🥳🙏
Not sure buying cards from shop to resell for profit is it a good idea seem most shops selling at tcgplayer or last ebay sold com price which is market price even if you bought at bundle will be like 90-95% maybe? Wil you will be making much profit or lose? Just curious no offence. i am doing small resell business on my own no shop i mainly look for those who are quitting hobby or streamline or just clear to make space, i dont buy at % as long as price is good and seller is happy with the price i offer and i able to sell at below market and still able make some profit i am happy.
Man you have to come to the Bronx and Pokémon hunt. There’s like 3 major local card shops that are pretty good. If you ever wanna do a collab video together I’m all for it. 👍🏼
That one is reprint with 2 Lost origin and 1 silver tempest. They either don't know the price or cheat on him. About $18 in walgreen but should cost around $12 to $15.
great video!! i’m from nyc and didn’t think to look up card shops when I go to. Is it my family. thanks!! not sure if you’re reading this but PLEASE adjust your autofocus, every time I was seeing prices, it would constantly focus to something else and low key make me feel as if I was squinting myself. am I the only one???
Let me tell you a little something about China town .... triple A replica heaven!!! Now I can't say the same about the cards... but if it's I CHINA TOWN👁👁
damn i used to go to this elizabeth st shop alot as a kid 13-14 yrs ago, and the shop owner lowballed the fk out of me on selling them cards lol. Well i guess they are still doing well.

To be fair, 50-60% is pretty standard for any card shop to offer sale or trade in. But rest of what you say is valid.
I can't speak for the other stuff but I wanna point out that 50-60% is pretty normal for card shops to sell to. Very true bro. I had bad experiences at both places as well.

Im from the bronx as well, feel the same way man !!
Im from the bronx and i have a memory of paying in a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament there when i was 13. Im 33 now still looking for my revenge lol

This is all I ask. Not just last sold listings

Ny sucks
Ngl they probably exist for money laundering
No idea how they could afford it 😂 with stores like that, there has to be something going on.
They are molly dealers
As someone who lived near the city I’d frequent these ALL THE TIME! Da Shop in china town, dude working always is super helpful and caring . Awesome to see his shout out!
These guys feel great when they see a RUclipsr walk in
That last shop is awesome. Really cool stuff and not super crowded like a Collectacon would be.

You got to go to Queens like the flushing area. They got great card shops there and it’s in the New York metro area
I agree with this. Instead he posted about DaShop a store that reseales, overcharged and scams people.
20:31 so kind
Ayeeee DaShop and PokeCourt are top tier stores! Great people too
yeah sure, why don't you walk in and offer $95 on a $120 tin and see if they'll sell it to you lmfao
Send in a random shy guy and see if the shops are nice an willing to drop some prices. Obv they will for the YTers PR
Victor and Courtney are the goat of tcg
I was just looking up card shops to go to in NY, so clutchhhhhh!
The way the first guy was taking the cards out of the binder he was like yanking them out of there
ive had great times at cards and coffee, but that guy TANNER from cards and coffee is a moron, i was tryna sell 3 psa 10 japanese neo genesis holos all comping at 75-85 dollars each. then a psa 9 shadowless magneton comping at 150-180. i was interested in a randy johnson rookie psa 9 that was comping at 50 bucks, there was a low comp at 30 but i was still willing to pay 50 as i dont value the card by a single auction comp. he wanted me to pay 75 for the randy johnson card, then was offering me 25 dollars for my typhlosion becasue he found 1 single auction comp where the card fell to 50. yet the last 10 comps all 75-85 dollars. he offered me 30 percent of comps on my cards, then wanted me to pay over 40 percent of comps on his cards lmao. guy completely wasted my time tryna tell me pokemon doesnt sell there blah blah blah. yet hes in this video saying pokemons there best seller. i went next door to bleecker trading where they jumped right on my cards and paid me 75-80 percent of comps without a blink. i even walked out of bleecker with a nice hat!
TCG Store names that don't actually sell the 2nd thing... "Cards and ______" ???
Great to meet you at Pokecourt! I was the dude in the blue shirt and white pants :)

First time to New York soon! Hope to explore these card shops!!
13:38 Guarentee in that month someone came in and did some crazy shit.. welcome to New York lol
I was just looking into collecting and boom this video pops up, great timing!
There used to be way more trading card stores when Magic, Pokemon, and Yugioh were at their peak. But now you gotta know where to look!
that dog was the highlight of the video.
MAKE A PART 2
Honesty the card shop videos are my fav
These type of vids are elite!
very cool shops and vid and i respect pokemon youtubers go to shop to support them and help them
Shoutout Kingston the dog at Dashop, what a good boy
He always bark at me, looks like he took his nap.
the last shop is insane
The pizza shop next to Bleeker st. shop is FIRE.
L'industrie Pizza is goated
As always, great, entertaining video and rating the shops was a really cool idea to mak the video more fun!
DaShop NYC is legit! I went there for Gundam models instead of cards, and the dude at the front, Victor was so nice! Definitely recommend, 10/10!
Dude thanks for making this. I live in NYC and have gone to a few of these places, but will check out the rest soon.
I'll be visiting New York in a few days for the first time and just incidentally found your video. What a beautiful coincidence! :)
Thanks for sharing! We live in NYC. My son and I are going to check out some of these places today.
Good to see some decent shops, the shops in the burbs of Chicago are mainly a bunch of yuppies, weird energies every time I have been to them except for one shop owned by an old man and old lady but they don't have a lot.
I definitely use ebay over TCG, I want to see what its selling for at that moment. TCG and ebay have been off be 20-25% before.
Damn. If you went back 10 years there was like 4-5 shops in a 3 block radius of Da Shop
40 dollars for the gastly is so funny
Bouta unload my PSA slabs to bleeeker st trading. Get those bogus graded cards outta there !!!
Every store in NY has one piece while in PA we got nothing. Awesome video and looking forward to more videos!
Someone please tell me where I can buy Pokémon cards/stuff In Dublin? Ever since all the GameStops closed down, there’s only a handful of game shops that sell them. And none of them I’ve found have booster bundles!
ok im definitely checking out that last place!
went from 120 to 95... wonder if a normal person could get that, i guess cuz they know he is gonna buy 2k worth or more
I wish we had more shops like this in Germany😭 ps grüße aus Deutschland
Surprised Montasy Comics didn't make an appearance.
Make another video and check out the other stores besides Manhattan. I would look into stores that also hold tournaments since those tend to have better selection. Card Quest out in Queens is one that I frequent.
Card quest has terrible clientele with cancerous attitudes. Not to mention the amount of favoritism that the owner has with some customers. No thanks.
thats cool, I used to go to dashop growing up as a kid lol
Cards in coffee in no coffee. What are f****** joke? Bro I can go to the store by couple Mini creamers and get some instant things. Not that hard it's fucking coffee
what u so mad for lmfao
Gem Mint Cardhouse in Houston Texas should be your next stop!
Great video just geting back into Pokémon to think 5 years age I was holding cards worth thousands of dollars you inspire me to get back into collecting and I just need my new first rare card ( every Pokemon card that I've had was lost ) new start !!! 🥳🥳🙏
Poke court should move somewhere out in the city. That place to rent is expensive as hell.
How much was the Charizard upc at the Bleeker st location?
I wish you would’ve gone outside of Manhattan so many cool shops close by too like gamers choice in LIC
Exactly. The Collector Cubby in Brooklyn is fantastic too. Better prices than most shops
See the mislabeled Charizard promo as an Umbreon at 11:47

The word "sick" is literally being used 10000 times more than the most busiest doctors office... in a pandemic!
That Moonbreon was a steal!
Man you have to come to the Bronx and Pokémon hunt. There’s like 3 major local card shops that are pretty good. If you ever wanna do a collab video together I’m all for it. 👍🏼

Mystic how much were those salamance tins and what was in them if you happened to open them already?
That one is reprint with 2 Lost origin and 1 silver tempest. They either don't know the price or cheat on him. About $18 in walgreen but should cost around $12 to $15.
Wouldn’t eBay be a more accurate if actual market prices? Since it’s what they are actually selling for ?
yes, ppl love scamming
We will visit these stores soon in September because we will be on holiday
great video!! i’m from nyc and didn’t think to look up card shops when I go to. Is it my family. thanks!! not sure if you’re reading this but PLEASE adjust your autofocus, every time I was seeing prices, it would constantly focus to something else and low key make me feel as if I was squinting myself. am I the only one???

Why would you say TCG is more accurate than eBay sales?
I was thinking that too... I thought last solds on ebay is better than tcg player but I'm from the uk maybe different in the United States?
Let me tell you a little something about China town .... triple A replica heaven!!! Now I can't say the same about the cards... but if it's I CHINA TOWN👁👁
New York trip is coming soon 🫣🫣🫣!!!

damn i used to go to this elizabeth st shop alot as a kid 13-14 yrs ago, and the shop owner lowballed the fk out of me on selling them cards lol. Well i guess they are still doing well.
Any zards?
