None of the guns had nails in, but the board at the end did, which is why it came out at an angle rather than straight. Even if you think you can tell which gun it is from the inflections in someone's voice, you wouldn't risk it for real.
The issue with this technique is that he also needs to know what gun Grant pre-emptively loaded, because if he chooses the one that Grant loaded and it doesn't fire, well.
The trick is kaput.
listen to what he says from 4 - 4:7 . while he says 'yes' for 'three' in the second time his sound was like shivering . and i think that was the trick

I must say that I already had figured out which one was loaded before he tested gun number 4, I heard it when he said yes to the question: is gun 3 safe

i was drinking some drinks and listening to this at the same time and when he asked the question i was like it's obvious its number 3 from that delay
Oh! and we're also getting closer to being able to read minds using machinery :) We can get pretty good images of common day objects from minds visually.

I figured it out, lol! From the first part, that he replaced gun 1 and 3. The second time, when he sounded a bit scared saying the number 3, it was almost obvious. So it was real. This guy just really knows people.
I am curious to know the toe of gun used. If the gun has sensors for electrical conductance, which your skin has, then the nail won't fire (there is a saw that retracts as soon as it touches your finger, RUclips it). So basically all the guns were loaded. Thank you ladies and gentlemen.

By the tone of his voice while asking the numbers he can tell witch gun has a nail!
Penn and Teller did this, they used prop nail guns that only shot nails when no pressure was applied on the gun. I would imagine it's something very similar.

Your a little confused, A nail gun has a safety cap yes, but the way it works is when you push the nail gun down, the tip slides back, releasing the safety , this prevents the nail gun from firing into mid air, this is why at 5:23 he tells him to push it in, and at 5:30 you can actullay watch the orange slider fall back the black slide, releasing the safety and discharging the gun
Probably one of those pads that digitally reads what's written. From there it's wirelessly transmitted to someone else in the building who then tells him what to draw by a tiny earpiece. That's why the images didn't look at all like one another. The wine glass was a red herring.
Is this the same trick they normally do with paper cones and a spike?

all 4 are loaded, the assistant is in on it, there is a button you push to release the nail which he doesnt push so when he pulls the trigger the gas is ejected an it makes a sound but no nail is fired

@vihren shokarov I did indeed figure out it was #3 but the trick is still cool, and there is still danger in it. (Oh and how would you ever be able to figure out which it was if the guy didn't know which one it was?)

he might have heard the difference between the loaded and unloaded one while the assistant picked them up, or heard them being switched which would have been part of the act, first he switches 1 and 3, he pauses while hes switching the nail guns, maybe to listen? then you'll notice he shoots 2 and 4 and 1 and 3 are the finale

The trick is simple, he's not reading people's minds, he makes people think in a specific thing that he wants, then he just has to reveal what he already knew.

I once went on a cruise and got pressured into doing this trick with this guy in the same role as Grant, though I had no idea which gun was which, and he was using staple guns instead of nail guns. Imagine a baby-faced, terrified 21-year-old girl with no clue what gun was what in Grant's place. Still slightly traumatised from that, and this happened to me before this video was filmed XP
I have since stopped wearing brightly coloured party dresses, as I was wearing an orange one at the time and am almost positive it was that which caused me to stand out like a beacon for him to select an audience member XP
I'm thinking all the nail guns are loaded but they have a safety mechanism on them that if it detects heat at the tip, it wont release a nail. That's why he always paused just before giving the go ahead, to give it time to detect his body heat and why the one fired into the wood. Just a guess

Deacon X The only safety's are like a gun safety on some where you can make the trigger unusable or the pressing down of the tip. If you notice he actually doesn't "PRESS" until he fires the nail, and a little spring loaded mechanism is then pushed down which allows the nail to be fired. This makes it so you can't shoot nails like a REAL gun. It has to be pressed against a solid object. You CAN however tape this down and then shoot nails out like a real gun :). You can also set it so you just press the spring loaded thing against a hard object to shoot nails in without having to push the trigger. This setting is pretty much only used for construction workers as it's very dangerous but doesn't make your hand sore from constant trigger pulling. My buddy told me about a guy he was building a house with and he had it on this setting and forgot and he was trying to stand up or something and for some reason he pressed the gun onto his knee and he had it set on the auto shoot setting without pulling the trigger, and it fired a nail right into his thigh :)

I don't get this... the guy pulling the trigger knew which guns were loaded..., why would he pull the trigger if the guy picks the loaded gun - no danger involved.

What really happen is that when grunt was told to say yes to the safe gun as a human when we lie out voice is different so when you hear it again and he asked him about the guns you can hear a slight difference from the other yeses being heard

The strangest part for me was how the assistant did not hesitate to give him the loaded nail gun. He must've known the magician would change his mind.

Yeah, that's what I thought for those guns, but I haven't figured out how he picked #2 from the outset.

Nail guns have safety cap on them! they only nail solid surfaces!
Number 3 was loaded, number 3 was never pressed against his body. So if there is a very small hidden thing at the end of the gun then how did he swap WITHOUT the loaded gun touching him. Yes it's a trick, but you haven't figured it out.

The blind fold could be made of polarising filters. Notice how he turns it around.
Notice the position of the blindfold. It's about 1/2 way on his nose. There is still a gap/line of sight between his nose and cheek where he can peek downwards. If the cloth was covering his nose that gap would be very hard to see out of. try using a shirt.

You're right, but in the end, the stunt is more a proof of his capabilities rather than the real danger implied.

The fact that he didn't immediately do the correct drawing in his audition leads me to believe it is a type of mind-reading, but not magic or anything - more psychological.

I am such an amateur at tricks but I am very attentive. It's obvious when he asked if gun 3 is loaded the assistant stuttered by a slight bit before saying yes. The fact that he was telling a lie, made him stutter a bit. THe other guns he answered fluently and if you replay the video you will see it

They are not all empty. If you had carefully watched the whole video, he told Grant to fire the last one into the timber.

he changed n1 with n3 when he did that , anthony was silence to hear where the sound of that toy lead him , he knew that he switched n1 with n3 , thats why he knew n3 is loaded, caz he made the switch , why he didnt switched n2 with n4 ?
