Sns has always been strong if you use elements and know the monster well you can attack constantly , beaten only by db in how much it can capitalise , it is very precise , can block and use items on the move . It is insanely versatile basickly but also very stong if used agressively . When i was playing 3u vs lagiacrus n was a noob i thought " well i basickly need to attack all the time very fast to do it in time " n i was basickly correct .
@@redfox9726 Raw SNS is way stronger. Perfect rush favors raw damage and the shield does not do elemental damage. Frostcraft with fatalis sns perfect rush spam deals insane damage.
using the slinger burst into perfect rush allows you to get the full perfect rush combo of during a cone it takes practice but you can eventually get the full perfect rush consistently everytime
re: Guard slashes - I have over 1500 sns hunts and still do it! I blame my PS4 controller (lol) but baiting Fatty's cones I prefer using the falling bash loop - that said, I haven't ever been able to get a second horn break with it but that's down to my skill (er, or lack thereof) With Perfect Rush vs Fatty rolling out of the final hit can be a life saver, or will prevent any damage from the delayed exploding puddle his cones leave, also the fall from the PR final hit/pushback has put me in bad situations before, like through flame breath... (thanks, Capcom!) it also has a similar issue to the claw where it can possibly send you to a random body part, or at least not the one you wanted. I'm writing all this whilst watching and finding you're addressing all of these points :) d'oh
As a Bow main, I'm afraid of Fatalis; the part break multiplier is just the worst, as a gunner type I take more damage than normal, and I struggled with Alatreon for about 3-5 solid months. Granted, he's a cakewalk after you kill him solo for the first time, but still.
Started maining SnS a few days ago, really find it fun, the Perfect Rush part break modifier is sad, not going to try to break it again, planning on using Hammer to break them, or thought about Insect Glaive too, although I don't know which one is better solely to break the horns, and then finish it with Sword and Shield. SnS is king! Although you mentioned 250% part break modifier for the final hit of the Perfect Rush, couldn't find the info, should I try that?

I always shot the cannons in his face, let him run into the walls, use the running ballista and attack his head while he is down (with DB). Well I break it nearly anytime twice.
I’m a GS main and i find that he has a higher dps. He does almost 2000 during the flamethrower ( 1:55 ). If I do my best, i barely reach 1000 during the same flamethrower (fatalis GS, full attaque and critic at 140%)
If your feeling fatty or any other monster will get up you can straight up just make a 2 PR and doing the full combo in the second one. It will throw you (most of times) to safety
I’ve seen the runs in pre-fatalis gear you have done, but I would love to see one without all the ridiculous gems. I have 1200 hours and have not a single attack 4 or challenger 4 gem, much less some of the more exotic ones you sport. I love the videos but doesn’t feel relatable when each of my hits does like 60% the amount of damage yours do lol
As a reference point, I have all that time on PC and I’m about 60 hours into a ps5 play through... struggling bad to get double head breaks. I can get the kills but shit takes like 28 minutes. No luck on evil eyes or gems so I’m stuck using Stone Age gear lol... I played bow on pc but I cannot for the life of me do it on a controller lol

Try rolling your clicks from guard to pullback to back hop. It's not a uniform click, I find if I focus on rolling through them, I get that guard slash a lot less. I feel like guard slash or a 180 back hop are signs of rushing inputs

@@ConsOA so you can even back hop out of shieth, you shield first, then(on controller for me) B or 0, then pull back. It's a very quick input but pulling back should come last

I've been notcing the same thing. Palico draws aggro which makes him do his movement attacks which outs me out of range which makes him do more instead of blasting fire. Palico keeps you a tad safer though, buffs/heals, and statuses so pick your poison.

I recommend using 2 golden rath, 2 blackveil, and a maxed friendship charm. Then farm y vhelk. The goal with the loadout is to have maxed health boost, divine blessing, wide range, recovery speed, peak performance, and vaal soulvein which says "health recovery exceeds the red portion"
do you have any plans to do a lance fatalis run? I feel like lance has a pretty unique playstyle compared to most other weapons that makes your cone-baiting style way more difficult to do, so I'm curious how you would go about it.
@@ConsOA Can’t wait for lance! My advice would be to capitalize the clutch claw counter especially when Fatty run towards you. You can consistently aim for his head without waiting for cones too
Weird question but i know people see speedrunners as the gods of mh but as someone who has 1000's of hours and uses with sns , there is no way i am bad , but i don't go for weakspots and even if i do i tend to do less damage somehow , n i tend to be the one that doesn't die whilst also being really aggressif would i be considered a good sns user by most people ? I can take advantage of basickly every opening you will see and dodge most monster attacks in the series after 3u but i don't try to attack weakspots and i will take like 10 mins to kill something solo in G rank on average .
Best way to tell if you're "good" is to just look at your hunt times really. 10 mins g rank solo seems pretty good to me, not amongst the best, but definitely really solid. Though it varies from monster to monster ofc, 10 mins would be some of the best against fatalis, but not against rathian for example. Compare your times to speedrunners, and see how your times match up. If the sns speedrun is 10 mins on a monster, and you're getting like 13~14, i'd say you're really good. Though it doesnt really matter so long as you're having fun and not throwing multiplayer hunts completely imo, so don't worry too much
@@ConsOA thanks i definately do value fun over speed , i had a set on 4u with HG earplugs , tremor res , sharpness plus 1 and windproof high witch seems absurd but i could still solo gore magala in 7 minutes with it , and zinogre in around 11, i called it my comfy set ( realised later it's called a utility set ) and found it way more fun than a dps set . On GU i have a dps set and can solo 4 hyper monsters in one quest and reliably helped people complete EX hunts online witch is satisfying enough for me . I take pride in my agression and survivability more than anything , doubt i'll ever get speedrun times .

Though most hunts probably won't need all of those utility skills at the same time (i dont think too many monsters tremor for example, and which of those also need HG plugs and cause unarmourable wind?), so you could use the equipment sets to have a few variations. But that can be annoying to manage, so maybe not also, targeting weak spots isnt mandatory, but finding good punishes for monsters' moves that let you punish weakspots can be quite fun and rewarding, so it could be worth messing with either way, sounds like you're having a good time (and playing 4u, hell yeah) so you're good in my books!
@@ConsOA to be honest most monsters don't need windproof and hg earplugs and tremor on top but i love the game but somehow hate grinding so i made one set for all hunts , and also i did many 140 gq witch have jho and jang witch need tremor and 140 you get one shot so easily that getting roared on wasn't worth the risk for me . As for windproof plus HG plugs there is realisticly only gore magala where that is even a bit usefull lol but earplugs plus windproof is usefull for metal raths and kushala , it was just a good all round set that made it to where i never stopped attacking , i compared to damage sets and they were barely faster so i prefered just using my utility set and not caring about anything a monster could do to interrupt my non stop onslaught lol
It comes as a part of the velkhana gamma set. You need 4pc velk gamma to get frostcraft, so it's an unfortunate and unavoidable inefficiency in skill slots.

i did a heroics run with felyne heroics (i.e. always at 5% health, so cant take any damage or I'd die) which is pretty close if you're interested. But i do things like intentionally tank the nova which means its not purely a no damage run

You can beat fatalis without his gear (of course it takes much more time than 12 minutes), but for a speedrun where you want the most damage yeah you need his gear
And yes you can solo him without his gear, if you have a lot of trouble just cheese him with plunderblade to get all materials and build your own fatalis set, but be aware, this removes all the fun of the game bc after fatalis set you pretty much beat the entire game and the power creep will make all the other armor sets basically look like low rank gear

@@eusouonumero232 i dont mean to come across as rude, but having fatalis' weapon wouldnt fix that for you. it's definitely a nice dps boost, but not using it literally changes nothing about the fight, because it's not anything close to a stun/clagger lock. it would just mean the hunt goes ~10 percent faster. that might be the difference maker for you, but for most people it isnt, it usually means they get a little further into phase 2 or 3.1 before using their last cart
yup for phase 1 and part of 2, phase 3 is more unique per weapon but just hit the chest. i wanted to do speedruns with 14 weapons tho ;) and alot of people don't know what good punishes are for their weapon against cone
As an sns main i can tell you to not worry about the guard slashing...we all do it, even the speedrunners

Part break modifier may be low but you can dish out a lot of damage and hit the head consistently so it's okay.

If you're simply looking for breaking the head,you can't go wrong with Gs.If you're skilled using a switch axe and cero sume the head.
