just a tip when it does the cone attack, after (triangle)+(triangle)+(demon dance) you can press the L2 button which uses a slinger ammo to perform an evade, it's slightly faster and more reliable
I find that the closer i am to the puddle after it goes off, the more chance of getting a second cone, but this definitely helps in a pinch if you dont mind spending the dragon pods!
The fact that Fatty solo has around 65k health and you can take alot if it off with cannons , roaming balista and dragonator is kinda crazy. Because then you look at AT Velk with 57k health, an aura that makes it take less damage and only two boulders to drop on him haha.
Dude, this video earned me my first solo kill! Thanks a lot! I thought baiting the cones was gonna be a massive pain in the ass but it actually helped me learn his moves since I had to stand in front of him from a distance so I saw how he winds up for every attack and the Temporal+Smoke Bombs+Heavy Artillery trick is just ridiculous! baiting the cone is probably the most annoying time ive ever had with a monster. He just kept doing the sweeping flame thrower attack for 5 minutes straight.
Make sure youre at more of a medium range, and not spending alot of time attacking the chest (or just tendi the chest and forget about cone baiting if you prefer)

Hi I'm dual blades main and never changed weapon since I started World, I plan to solo this but my current set is still using the Silverlos/USJ mix TCE set, do you think I can do solo Fatalis? Because unlike what you did in the video you're using Fatalis set already, or would you suggest me getting Safi armor set first?
Started the grind to beat this guy recently and been using this guide. Something I've noticed is that, even with a temporal filled with heavy artillery, I do less damage with the roaming ballista per shot than you do. I suspect it's because you tenderize the chest shortly before the first nova. You don't mention it in the video, but that seems to be a very important step because I am always forced to run around and grab more ballista ammo to get the knockdown. (also I do keep him enraged for the extra damage and agitator, so it isn't that) And naturally, I've bungled the ammo-list and hit him with a one-shot binder by accident multiple times, but that's just me being bad haha
bungling the ammo for the binder still happens to me to this day haha. But yeah, tenderising the chest (and eating for the felyne skill that increases damage from the gun) both help. However, if you find yourself consistently being only one shot away from the knockdown after using all the gun ammo, it's more likely that you're finishing your ammo during an animation that fatalis can't be knocked down in. Certain flinches/roars. You get a feel for it with practise, but I'd advise saving your last couple of bullets if fatalis is doing some animation that isn't an idle/attack animation, wait for it to finish, then shoot the last bullets. Hope this helps!
@@ConsOA Just beat him. Got off to a pretty amazing start: reasonable cone ai, clean roaming ballista knockdown, didn't cart until like 70% of the way through his health. Naturally, I start to panic. @@thepaladinpup2272 no problem, congrats on beating the true final boss of iceborne! I can definitely empathise with "good start, but uh oh I'm panicking and I've forgotten how to play in phase 3." It still happens to me on particularly good speedruns x_x
How did you get those attack jewel + 4 ? I ve wasted my entire month grinding the event quests called day of ruin and wrath of thunder descends but didnt get even one of those :(
Hey man, great video. I use dual blades manually so I think this will help. Not sure I'm ready to tackle it just yet but I have a question about your build. Sorry if I missed it but how do you get 200 stamina? I was using high rank lunastra pieces for the entire game because I liked the extra stamina but I decided to switch and the lack of stamina is painful.
At ~@4:00 you explain that by breaking the first horn during phase 1, all the damage you do to the head at the start of phase 2 (after the cool roaming ballista knockdown trick) that the 1st horn's HP gets stuck at 1. If I'm understanding right, does that mean you wouldn't be able to break the first horn until phase 3? As in, the first horn will be at 1 HP for the entirety of the 2nd phase and would then immediately break after taking damage in phase 3?
You have the right idea sorta. If you break the horns in phase 1 you can break them again in phase 2 and 3 the only time they get stuck at 1 hp is when you put fatty into a downed state. So for example if you knock him down with roaming balista and immediately go to the head the dps you are doing does not contribute to a horn break but will contribute to the next phase shift like safi. Think of it like 2 bars 1 is fatties head 2 is his actual health/phase shift bar. If you dont max the headbreak bar out before you max the hp/phase shift bar then it stays at 1 and carries over when down states occur you are not adding to bar 1 just bar 2. Hence why he avoided the cannons at the start. Hope this helps.
Great video. I got a Dual Blade kill with tips from this one. Only thing is I cart sometimes and cant make it under 20min. I guess practice makes perfect.
partbreaker is a little niche, i only use it to make sure i break the horn pre-phase3, so that i dont have to deal with the more powerful fatalis at all, which lets me focus entirely on the chest in phase 3. thats handy because it means i can jut change my brain into "tendi chest and focus on it" mode as soon as phase3 starts
I know this is an older video, but i had a question. You mentioned that after the first roaming ballista, his head can't be broken in that created opening. Why is that? Why was a limit put there?
obviously i can only guess, but maybe it's an animation or a quality of life thing. By animation, I mean it would look really goofy if it snapped to doing its horn break animation while getting hit during a knockdown, so it'd need some sort of custom animation, which they might not want to bother with. Alternatively it could have been just be like some other monsters when a part breaks during a knockdown and nothing happens, skipping the horn break knockdown completely, but they probably knew that would be super frustrating. Or maybe they don't want people getting huge chains of knockdowns and using that to somehow cheese the fight? (though needing to do 1 extra damage probably doesnt prevent that). No clue really lol
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or just really unlucky, but using what I believe is your positioning I average maybe 1-2 cone breaths per 10 minutes. Is there something else I need to do to bait them?
Dude...your dual blades skills are God man....it seems like you can predict the Fatalis move!!you shouldn't names your RUclips Con OA..you should named it Levi from AOT...thanks for your advice and tips man.. Already subscribed..peace!!
I know this is late, but anyone got any suggestions on Pre-fatalis armor to do this? Like ik the DB meta is safi, and also silver sol stuff, but neither has enough decorations to fit things like partbreaker without sacrificing things like crit boost. Any suggestions?
Out of a million attempts. Only managed to get if down twice. Never soloed him. Maybe I should start haha. Cheers for the video. I'll let you know how I go Ps: I never used evade window before. Always evade extender 3. I may switch that out
Thx bro I’ve actually been struggling soloing at and have only gotten close with db. I never thought about baiting cones so thx for the build and play style
Dual Blades has a lot of options with the introduction of Fatalis now. You can run the standard 4 piece Fatalis with the alpha, not beta, waist and alpha Kulve legs (Although, if you use beta, you're only missing out on a level of Peak Performance so up to you), you can run a weird mix between the new Azure age armor and Silver Ratholos and the third set you can run is 2 pieces of Fatalis 3 pieces of Safi. If I'm understanding what the source I'm reading is saying, full Safi still puts out more damage (Could be wrong about that), but with these other options, you still get a lot of damage with room for a lot of comfort skills too.
As far as I know there are many viable sets for DBS. Safi + crit element, true crit element, Safi + fatalis and 4 piece fatalis. All boils down to preference, I personally use full Safi for elemental, fatalis for raw and a fatalis + Safi with latent power for maximum evasion and stamina.
We had him...then some one used the dragonator while he was off to the side....nobs are annoying sometimes. Almost feels like he sabotaged us on purpose
the 5th nova is extremely close to being done. i dont remember the numbers but it's like 5 or 10% health left. Keep at it, you'll get it soon if you dont need all your carts, consider running fortify and carting yourself once at the start of the hunt. You'll have +10% dmg for the whole thing, which makes things a bit quicker.
@@ConsOA I think it's a mix of bad AI (he ALWAYS crawls around, so I can't really attack him during or clutchclaw, since it will damage me) and my damage or lack of tenderizing. I've beaten him in a team but I did use the ballistas and cannons, whereas solo it's a bit harder to do that.
@@DapimpBDSD bad ai definitely makes a noteworthy difference, and can be really frustrating, but player damage makes a much bigger difference. The good and bad RNG tends to balance itself out over a long hunt, and in the end shouldnt make more than a few mins of difference. Whereas getting better at the hunt will bring times consistently down to under 15 mins for most weapons

So what your saying is that you can only break the horn once per phase🤔? And if you miss a break in a previous phase you'll be working on the horn hp from the last phase. And when you break it you won't be able to continue on the next break until the next phase. Is that correct🤓?

Hey man, great video. I use dual blades manually so I think this will help. Not sure I'm ready to tackle it just yet but I have a question about your build. Sorry if I missed it but how do you get 200 stamina? I was using high rank lunastra pieces for the entire game because I liked the extra stamina but I decided to switch and the lack of stamina is painful.
Very late reply (just beat Fatalis for the first time a couple days a ago) but 4 piece Fatalis gives 200 health and 200 stamina.
How do you get the lvl 7 crit eye? I’ve copied this completely but still no idea how you have more damage on your weapon stats as wrll
What does me mean near the beginning when he’s talking about the horn getting stuck at 1hp?
This guide helped me kill FATALIS around 12 minutes now I don't have to worry about farming materials for my weapon 😎
Now that looks fun. Not played a great deal of DB, gonna try that tonight.
It’s 1 shot with the normal ballista after the roaming
Does is still work this way? For example the cone baiting? And also on PC?
Great video. I got a Dual Blade kill with tips from this one. Only thing is I cart sometimes and cant make it under 20min. I guess practice makes perfect.
I thought I was the only one using partbreaker to make it faster for me to do more damage to the head, it works great for greatsword too
Everyone is using Partbreaker if they really want to guarantee the Evil Eye.
@@mhk6943 I don't want the evil eyes, I use partbreaker so he falls faster in the ground so I can kill him faster
@@onyx_4764 Sorry i meant people were generally running Partbreaker anyway to farn the Evil Eye.
partbreaker is a little niche, i only use it to make sure i break the horn pre-phase3, so that i dont have to deal with the more powerful fatalis at all, which lets me focus entirely on the chest in phase 3. thats handy because it means i can jut change my brain into "tendi chest and focus on it" mode as soon as phase3 starts
Would this work with alatreon madness to break the head twice?
Any recommendations for Greatsword build?
check my original solo guide where i use frostcraft GS with pre-fatalis armour
Oh, wow. Great play!
would you be able to do HBG or Lance?
I cant make him cone, say in the ring fighting him alone and for 10 mins straight he did not cone not one time even when i was close medium or far
How do you get that gold ribbon on his arm?
Why would the second phase first opening be locked?
What are those dragon armor? May i know?
Thanks, this guide is helpful .
Is there something else I need to do to bait them?
it should be much more frequent than that, ill be doing a video on cones specifically soon with general tips so hopefully that helps
Dude...your dual blades skills are God man....it seems like you can predict the Fatalis move!!you shouldn't names your RUclips Con OA..you should named it Levi from AOT...thanks for your advice and tips man.. Already subscribed..peace!!
Thanks for the video dad XD also, you got double horn break so early D:
not a problem, and yeah thats part of the strat really! tho we did get extra lucky this run
the partbreaker makes it way faster
I know this is late, but anyone got any suggestions on Pre-fatalis armor to do this? Like ik the DB meta is safi, and also silver sol stuff, but neither has enough decorations to fit things like partbreaker without sacrificing things like crit boost. Any suggestions?
I put minds eye into every build, is it a mistake?
Out of a million attempts. Only managed to get if down twice. Never soloed him.
Maybe I should start haha.
Cheers for the video. I'll let you know how I go
Ps: I never used evade window before. Always evade extender 3. I may switch that out
to baiting the cone fatalis need to be standing up , but he always keep his head down, is there a way to make fatalis standing ?
keep hitting the head until it flinches up, or just wait, or climb up to the cannon area and he'll stand up to try and hit you
Fatalis: "Hi, Cones here"
wait you can carry 99 kelbi horns?
Great video g
Good stuff man
Hey bro. I built a set like that but my damaged just around 30-50 per hit. I tenderised the part needed but damaged just 30-50. You know why bro ?
Maybe you didnt eat for attack up L, didnt use might pill, demon powder, etc.
Thx bro I’ve actually been struggling soloing at and have only gotten close with db. I never thought about baiting cones so thx for the build and play style
I was the same way, i see now that if i dont bait the cone, the cone baits me lol
Can you get the full set and weapons without killing fatalis?
yes, ive covered this in other videos so just have a look through the channel
Does the safi Armor B+ still useful for Dual Blade? I mean as long I’m using “resentment skill.”
Safi armor is more for elemental dual blades but it's still really good for raw
As far as I know there are many viable sets for DBS. Safi + crit element, true crit element, Safi + fatalis and 4 piece fatalis. All boils down to preference, I personally use full Safi for elemental, fatalis for raw and a fatalis + Safi with latent power for maximum evasion and stamina.
Could you do a HBG sticky run guide as well?
I second this request
I think we need to see more videos of killing fata without data gear
We had him...then some one used the dragonator while he was off to the side....nobs are annoying sometimes. Almost feels like he sabotaged us on purpose
Man I can't even come close to the numbers you're putting up even with X2 fortify. Fatalis duel blades are nuts.
only for mons with bad ele hitzones ie fatalis, nergi, velkhana head, stygian (not glowing), vaal hazak etc.
for other mons stick with safi+kjarr
@@pranav_k__ true true. I was just comparing the damage for this fight and was like... Jaw floor.
i swear to god i got 3 blade dances in after the final nova and time ran out. im on the brink of giving up soloing him.
Idk if my issue is not doing enough damage or what but I can't kill him solo....... I get him to the 5th nova and he STILL doesn't die and I time out.
the 5th nova is extremely close to being done. i dont remember the numbers but it's like 5 or 10% health left. Keep at it, you'll get it soon
if you dont need all your carts, consider running fortify and carting yourself once at the start of the hunt.
Nice run.
Clearly I did something wrong doing this since I got what seemed like one cone every 3 min at best.
I always get him to second phase solo but never once beyond that
Mad lad I should’ve gone for the head first in day one update lol
Update after I watched this video I actually did same thing and did it ( except my own deco style) thank you very much for great guide in dual blades 🙏
How do you get max hp and stamina without jewels ?
fatalis set bonus
What’s your full time job
i work in IT
@@ConsOA Do you enjoy it?
why no palicos?
so fattys attention is always on you, its easier to bait out the attacks you want and manipulate him that way.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I really rarely get cones. Instead he is spaming the beam... :/
its just shitty rng, i feel u on that my friend.
Also if you still have your cat out, it may also mess with the AI
@@DangerKiwi Yea, I left her in the base but it still didn't work
@@Baixst kinda go where his head would normally be if he was on all fours and extended his neck out and just kinda dance and dodge around there. If that doesn’t work then it’s just the AI saying “nah, F**k you” which does happen sometimes
How did he got 200 Health and Stamina without the skill for it? WTH?
fatalis set bonus
this must be another monster, the one i got, never happen once to do the same moveset.
Nice bgm, ing egrets theme
yeeeeeee
So what your saying is that you can only break the horn once per phase🤔? And if you miss a break in a previous phase you'll be working on the horn hp from the last phase. And when you break it you won't be able to continue on the next break until the next phase. Is that correct🤓?
I could build it when there are not the Attack jewel 4.... i have only 1 (from the game itself) Attack jewels are really the rarest jewels ever srsly...
just run a little less attack then? maybe swap the legs to one of the ones with single slots, like the raging brachy ones or kulve alpha, so you can use the single atk decos?
@@ConsOA Uff i had no notifications on :D I just swapped the CHALLENGER CHARM with a ATTACK CHARM so i only need 1 Attack 4+! ... Its the same thing! ... I replaced every Attack 4 Jewel with Challenger 4 :D same result! Just different!
hi dad, when are you coming home? It's been 12 years, mom misses you
Lil bro was hungry for likes
Jeez Cons. I haven't even downed him yet. Come on.
Great run though. 🤘🤘
You are really riding this till the wheels fall off hah
Why won't he cone on me 😭😭😭
3 attack + jewels oh no I only have 1 and have everything else lol
You can replace them with divine blessing
