Monoprice Mini - How To Clear a Nozzle Jam Easily
HTML-код

- In this video let’s clear a clog on the Monoprice Mini, efficiently and safely for the printer.
For this video I will show you another technic to clean the nozzle, you could do as I did on the Creality CR-10S video.
But the Monoprice Mini is more fragile and harder to clear the nozzle. You could also just change the Nozzle if you do not want the trouble of trying to fix a jam; they are not that expensive.
Let’s see my technic.

Hi, I'm Frank my channel is all about 3D printing. I can't get enough of my 3D printer. I make everything and anything out of 3D filament (PLA, PETG and more). As I say a printer that is not printing is a missed opportunity.
I'll be doing electronics, mechanics, computer engineering, DIY, reviews and tutorials.
I update twice a week on Tuesday and Saturdays.
Subscribe to my channel, and don't forget to turn on notifications.
Thank you, Frank! I bought this printer used for $25 and was able to fix it thanks to this video!!!
Thank you very much. I exchanged a nozzle today using your method. The nozzle was completely blocked, I tried to clean it - without success. So I inserted a new nozzle and it works like new.
Bernd, with greetings from Dresden
Hi and thank you!
Great video! Helped me troubleshoot the issues on my Mini and its now running perfectly again!
I just unscrew the nozzle and clean it with a blowtorch...it burns away everything. Works like a charm :)
Ya that too works ;-)
Very helpful, thanks! Unclogged my Mini using the steps you mentioned. Very well explained
thank you....i belive the other call that 200 to 90 a cold pull.excelent demo.
Great video helped me a lot thanks
Thank you for the information. I love my Mini but it's such a hassle to maintain but mine is the one with the Jensen screws. Is there a way to upgrade it to the "regular screws" version?
Sure, it’s metric screws, I buy mine on AliExpress
thank you very much for the video
Thank you for this video.
Hi Frank ! I'm starting to tweak the gcode start and end. For example, for the end it's nice to tell the printer to move the bed to the front so we can easily remove the printed part without to have to move the bed manually. For the start, it's more about priming the nozzle. A video would be cool for those who do not know about that. There are some examples here: www.mpselectmini.com/starting_ending_g-code_scripts
It’s my next video for Saturday :-)
Hey Frank! Great video! This looks to be a much safer way to clear a jam than doing it while the fan shroud and all other parts are still connected.
Two questions.
What version of firmware are you running? Your mini's display looks much more modern than my 3 month old V2.
What fan shroud are you using?
I found your fan video. ruclips.net/video/TkYUkkZEs4Y/видео.html
Disregard the second question. I found your Noctua fan and shroud adapter video.
ruclips.net/video/TkYUkkZEs4Y/видео.html
I am using version 41 from www.mpselectmini.com/firmware/motion_controller be sure to read all of the warnings and instructions if you decided to upgrade. Also make sure you have the correct version for your printer.
Thanks. Much appreciated!
Very useful this Video! THX a lot! :-)
News flash. This is anything but easy.
Easier maybe... All printer get clogged some day, you can also just replace the nozzle...
Grazie molte.
È con grande piacere.
Amazing thank you!
Thank you! Please can you show how to do this with a Delta mini?
If I ever get a Delta mini I will...
Thank you! :0) @@Franks3Dshop
Could you get away with just heating it up and then directly detaching the nozzle from the heat block without removing anything else?
I'm wary of total disassembly after doing the bed wire rerouting and only having marginal improvement compared to the amount of stress it put me through
Hi Frank, speaking of nozzles, can you recommend replacement nozzles? I saw a set with different orifice sizes, but it was unclear if they fit the MP Select Mini or just the MP Select, (which I don't have). Thanks, Rocky.
I have used those ones, they fit even if they are not identical, you just have to lower the bed a little more.
Nozzle I use in packs of 4:
Amazon US amzn.to/2As7bs2
Amazon Canada amzn.to/2zDZy4H
And those are a direct replacement.
5 Variety Pack 3D Printer Nozzle 0.2mm to 0.8mm:
Amazon US:
amzn.to/2i4BJZp
Amazon Canada:
amzn.to/2KD0ecL
Those should be the same for a pack of 0.4mm
Amazon US: amzn.to/2rkiUp2
Amazon Canada: amzn.to/2ACYRWD
Genius! Buen video :)
Wow that cool
You really deserve more subs
Hi! What if I can't get the filament out in the first place? - I can't push it through manually. What should I do?
You should be able to unscrew the bowden fitting on top of the hot end or near the extruder, that way you will know if the filament is stuck inside the tube or in the hot end, sometimes some debris or the filament itself gets stuck in the tube. To prevent this extrude some plastic before removing the filament. ruclips.net/video/6Q3fHbIQ6TM/видео.html
What causes the filament to get jam? Is there anything I need to be aware of to reduce the potential of jams?
Usually it’s heat that creeps up on long print, you need either better cooling of the upper part of the hot end or a heat break that transfers less heat like Titanium the goal is to keep the hot end at temperature and the cold side as cold as possible.
This is the very problem I have but with a Monoprice Mini Delta instead of the Select Mini. Can you do a video of unclogging on a Mini Delta?
Hi, I would like to, but I do not have a Delta Mini...
I have a issue printing an object on MP Select Mini V2. The objective is too big. I managed to tilt it sideways with supports but it always ends up clogging the nozzle and building filament around the heat block. Any suggestions?
Check your extrusion or decrease it by 4-5 % to see if it helps. make sure nothing moves when printing maybe adding more dense supports to help with that, if it moves during print it will do that.
Sir in my filament is not insert in fin cylinder what can I do for that
HI, I would dismantle the hot end and see if something is jammed inside, you have to do that with some heat, try 180 degrees. Be careful not to burn anything or yourself. Sometimes some debris gets in the tube.
@@Franks3Dshop thank you sir
Hi, how do you change the thermistor in the extruder?
I think it is maintained in place with high temperature silicone. It will be difficulty to replace on mine. Replacement parts: www.mpselectmini.com/parts/heater_block
anyone knows the size of the nozzle.M6 OR M7 ?
Hi, it is M6, here is the reference for all that is Mini www.mpselectmini.com/parts/nozzle
uh my orange wires fell off as I was taking apart the thing that holds the nozzle 😭
but i think i figured out the problem, mine isn't even heating up.
for whatever reason mine always jams after the first layer
Strange, maybe the teflon tube lining is flacking off? Do you change temperature after the first layer? Is it PLA?
looks like a nightmare to do for people with big hands
Oof "easily"
It’s the easiest I can come up with :-)
@@Franks3Dshop I understand. I just used some cleaning filament and took out the pipe from the Boden connector.
HI, good I do not have any cleaning filament and it does not happen too often.
Oh, I just assumed the sample filament was cleaning filament. Is it not? It worked anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you very helpful
