A lot of people aren't necessarily "still" playing it. Many of us just recently got into the game the past couple months because of gamepass and updates.
Still such a great core group of fans out there. Sure it definitely helps to be an optimist but I'm so intrigued to know everyone's different reasons for sticking with it. And welcome @Galactic Relic! Happy to have you with us.
battlefield 4 is much romanticized. yes it was a good game.but it definitely wasn't the holy grail. also had its bads and goods like every game. but as people get older they romanticize all memories. but it really wasn't great or anything that bf4 was just a good shooter no more.
Bf4 bf3 were the pinnacle of the series. I prefer bf4 more though. I enjoyed bf5 more than bf1 it played better for me. And ww1 weapons I don't like as much as ww2. Also hardline I actually enjoyed felt like it wasn't a battlefield game kinda in the middle of cod and BF. 2042 is better I'm loving infantry conquest I'm a gunner and hate vehicles except boats on parcel storm was just epic

People(including me) use jets more now since they're a different vehicle category. They might not be great for most stuff but they're okayish when fighting air to air. So they're good if you wanna keep the skies clear for your team.
Okayish in air to air? They can single handedly keep the skies clear of any enemy air vehicles and are the only thing that can take down a transport heli with a dedicated repair crew.

We definitely need more content in this game. I really liked the idea for the temporary game mode of the week 2 of the battle of norvik. We need more maps from BF3 in this game and MORE weapons
Long time BF fan here. Played the Beta and thought it was crap so I cancelled my pre-order. Recently decided to buy it whilst it was on sale on steam after seeing some more positive videos/reviews on it and I can honestly say it feels like a really good game now, took me a couple days to get into it but I'm really enjoying it, especially enjoying the new featured gamemodes they release twice a week.
The gunplay and general feels of the guns/ recoil is the biggest reason why I stopped playing this game so I'm hoping this update is enough to bring me back!
My biggest reason was not having enough gunplay because the maps were too spread out. Spent most of my time traversing the map vs actually engaging with the enemy.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that something is off with the recoil, guns in BF3/4 felt much better than in 2042, shooting was more enjoyable.
I remember regularly getting 50+ kills in a life with the Bolte during the first month of release. The splash damage on the .30 cal was like grenade level damage.
As someone who has never played 2042, I had no idea Valparaiso was in this until Jack said it at 1:22. So the entire Intro I was looking around like, "This looks reeaaalllly familiar and I don't know why."
@jackfrags you've mentioned the firestorm map. I don't get why don't recycle a lot of maps, because it's much easier to copy a map instead of building new ones.
Last week i reinstalled the game and man it's totally a different game than it was the first week it launched and i had a blast. Although it's still not a great Battlefield game IMO but I appreciate the work DICE put into it to make it atleast a fun game.

Sooo glad the rail gun has been nerfed against vehicles. Thing was waaayy OP. It done like more damage than the anti-vehicle sniper with a faster rate of fire, larger mag, zero bullet drop and insane bullet velocity.

The AK probably feels good with a suppressor because it doesn't negatively affect the TTK/BTK until 75 meters+. The suppressors were reworked a while back and quite a few weapons are like that now. The suppressed SFAR, for example, has no diffrence in TTK or BTK at any range. Sym's weapon comparison is very good.
I found binding the plus system to certain keys much faster.. For example pressing f and mousewheel up changes scope, f and mousewheel down changes the grip
The current DICE team could never recreate the magic from the team that created BC(1&2). I hope they do and will, and hope they can but after BF5 and again with BF2042 all my hope is lost until prover otherwise
idk if they fix it, i played it yesterday, and it feels oddly normal, and i haven’t played in a week. like i’m actually never left and play it everyday. also 2042 is so colourful it doesn’t seen war torn. bf1 feels gritty because of the atmosphere bfv almost had the same feel. but not quite there.
Bf1 ans bfv are quite literally the same game with different maps and guns, same animations and HUD though, should've just been a DLC not a whole new game 🤣
BFBC3 one could only hope, but I don't think there's anyone left at Dice willing to make a fun game again. Fully destructive environments and a bit of humor to go along with it. Truckasaurus Rex
BFBC3 would be amazing. Based on the end of BFBC2 you would have a lot of maps on American soil. Which is a setting that hasn’t really been used in Battlefield

I personally don't think 6 portal weapons for WW2 is a good update. We're missing 40+ guns from BF4, BF Hardline, BF5, BF1. I just don't get it. They need to just remaster all Battlefields
I will never get it. The problem never was the gameplay. It felt good even tho I think BF4 weapons felt way better than later released games. But a Battlefield lives with maps and weapons. If they are fun, the game is mostly fun. So they fucked the map design but what's so hard to release many weapons? They can remake weapons, they can just update some weapons to their future model. Let the stats the same. People would be happy

Same with BF4, so many great maps that they could just reskin or make night time instead of day time to change the whole atmosphere. I miss BF4... Hard to beat.
my first time playing a bf game was bf4 when i first played it back in 2018.
BF4 killed Rush so it was great but also back step in some parts from BF3.

Halvöy/Firestorm is probably the best looking BF map to date. Would love to see it or a version of it in this game.
Agreed, me personally I love/loved firestorm, and feel that a lot of potential was missed with it (and BFV in general)

infantry wise, yes. Vehicle wise, nope.
@@aim4jakkusu I agree, vehicles are still rusty and need an overhaul imo, tanks feel ok. Jets feel dreadful.

I remember on kaleidoscope when the last obj was on top of the tower and the hover crafts just used to scale the side of the building 😂

I wish they did. That's what portal is for. So many good maps/settings from the game's past that could translate well.

The railgun to me was a sniper eliminator and a tank killer cause it can hit what a TGM cannot

dice needs to update the spot function to allow everyone in the same vehicle to see your spot.
I’ve been saying it for years…BC3 implemented with the same core tenants that made BC2 so fun would absolutely surpass every other recent BF game.

This game would be top tier with proper destruction
i like it when enders ends all over the place
My reinstall for this update because yeah the recoil was crazy. My main problem with this game is that NO ONE REVIVES
