"It wasn't perfect but we tried" kills me. It's acknowledging that though the pilot was flawed and was a learning curb, the beautiful attempt was made and absolutely paid off.
Niffty's little "I'll keep it neat and tidy til next time!" is what got the tears out of me. hit me the same as "Should you need us..." from the labyrinth
I can’t remember how much I cried from hearing this. We’ll never forget the original Hazbin Hotel Pilot cast. Both them and the Official Series cast are all amazing.
Nifty's little demonic hushed "Buh-Bye" got me. As well as the little "tribute chorus" thrown in the background at 2:57 where you can hear Gabe doing the "Da-Da" chorus portion from Insane. It was great to hear the OG cast voices again, even if that note is bittersweet.
The line "Thank you and goodnight" hits me the same way The Owl House ending on "Bi-yeeeee" did. It's an innocuous statement but there's so much lovely subtext beneath the simplicity directed towards the listener/viewer.
The pilot was the reason I got into the fanbase and was instantly hooked on the premise and worldbuilding of this project the original voice actors absolutely delivered to crate something that now has become an official streaming show with an ever-growing fanbase, and I am so happy and thankful for how far both Vivziepop and Hazbin Hotel has indeed become after 4 years of patience and hard work.
I can't remember the last time I teared up this quickly. As much as I love the new cast, I'm really going to miss the originals. I'll never forget the ones who started it all. I wish the best for them all. This is a wonderful sent off.
I saw the video two days after Gabe (aka Black Gryphon who did Alastor’s singing voice in the pilot and is amazing voice impersonator and singer) posted it on his RUclips channel, and it was really bittersweet. Don’t get it twisted; the new voice actors are doing a spectacular job, but I still miss the OGs. I do wish they still get some roles in the show, even if Viv desired a full on broadway cast for the show, but even if they don’t, at least they get a lot of deserved praise for helping Viv start this show at all. Edit: Also, on a more positive note, a sneak peek for episode 7 was posted today, and I am hyped!
@@アキコ2003 Yeah, no. Elsie and Gabe are fantastic singers with a ton of experience, and their performances in the pilot are more than proof of that. And addict showed that Michael can sing too. So I don't get why some people are trying to insult them by denying their obvious talent like that, especially when it is right there on display in the damn pilot.
The new singers are great, but i wrote that under the original video and i'il repeat it here. The new ones can be as good and/or famous as they want, in the end it was this cast that helped hazbin hotel to gain the traction needed to be picked up by a studio, and this is something nobody else will ever be able to take away from them. Voice actors within a series can be replaced, but there is rarely a pilot episode that has 2 VA's (or 3 if the ones for singing are different but the sentiment still holds true) I just love they gave the fans a last goodbye as the characters. It shows how much they cared and still care. In my mind its also done for a bit of closure and to show they still love and support the show even after their replacement which really warms my heart.
I love this song - it's a nice send off. I enjoy the new VAs a lot, especially their singing, but the pilot cast will always have a special place in my heart for being the ones we heard in the original video all those years ago. Also niffy's little demonic "bye-bye" is so fun! Thanks for the patreon reaction too!
A perfectly fitting way to pass the torch for this show. And I honestly believe that the cast for the series have more than filled the boots the pilot cast gave them.
They may not voice the characters in the show anymore but hope they all have long and amazing careers ahead of them. The show wouldn't be where it is today without their amazing voicework.
This feels like the final number of a hypothetical stage version of Hazbin. It was weird, it was low budget, it didn’t have the budget of a big Broadway production, but there was the passion and ingenuity that you only find in indie works.
Also i love how they say "we had so much fun" because it represent how much the previous cast valued and enjoyed theor work with the pilot and the start of hazbin hotel, but also because coincidentally (or maybe not) it's a reference to the first lines of Alastor in the pilot, when he specifies that he is there to have some fun while being at the hotel
love the old cast and I'm glad they did this, but also I fully love all the new voices they have fully sold me, there the voices I associate with the characters when i think of them now
My friend introduced me to Helluva Boss a week after Season 2 Episode 1 came out and I found Hazbin Hotel shortly after. For the first few weeks, I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes of the pilot but I eventually gave it a chance and I really enjoyed it. I've been hyped for Hazbin Hotel news ever since and it's crazy that season 1 ends tomorrow as I'm writing this. Can't wait so see what's in store for season 2.
I remember watching this when it premiered right before watching the new HH and dang dude it was so bittersweet. They really did carry a lot of the fandom throughout the 4 years, like with the podcasts, the fan songs and collabs for the characters, such a cool group of people. We will miss them and remember them as the OGs!!
Honestly, I'm glad you are or have checked out this with us, iv only recently become a fan of all this craziness so I didn't have to wait long & for all intents and purposes the new cast where my introduction to the universe. Anyway I just really appreciate this bopper of a song and wish all the old cast the best. Much love, and good night
As it is often the case when people get recast, OGs will forever hold a very special spot in my heart. I saw this a few days after it released. I got goosebumps watching it. Thank you, and goodnight, pilot cast 💙
I honestly believed BlackGryphon would remain as the singing voice for Alastor when Hazbin was officially greenlit as a full series. Don’t get me wrong, his current voice sounds remarkably similar. However, BlackGryphon is easily distinguishable given his reputation in impressions and singing in the MLP community. Saw him in person at a past Baltimore convention in 2019 and he’s pretty laid back and nice to converse with.
A beautiful and bittersweet song for every VA in the HH Pilot. Here's to hoping they get more success down the line. I wish them nothing but the best that life offers them. And I hope to see more from each of them. What more can I say but "It's been a helluva ride". Cheers mates! 🥃
@@mixs0269 tbh Charlie's voice in the Prime series sounds exactly alike to me. also it sucks, but the reason for the actors being replaced was because she needed people who could both voice act and sing. the pilot VAs all needed someone else to cover their songs--except for Michael, but his voice needed to be autotuned for Addict.
The thing is, I got to know Hazbin when it came out on Amazon, not from the pilot (I did watch it). Neverthless, this song brought tears to my eyes. It was such a beautiful and heartbreaking yet such a sincere goodbye. Loved it.
Ive been here for the 4 year ride, and let me just say how heartwarming and beautiful this song was. Ill always love the OG cast and the new one❤ im gonna go cry now
I saw this the day it came out and I can just say…. I WAS CRYING MY FVCKING EYEBALLS PUT IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND HEARING THE OG VA MADE ME SO DAMN HAPPY!!!!
Glad to see that you enjoyed the song Elijah, it was hard for us to see that the original cast couldn't voice the characters in the new show. But at least we won't forget what they bring to the characters since the pilot of Hazbin Hotel. Also, I'm not sure you heard but Poppy Playtime chapter 3 is officially out, so I hope you get around to playing it just like you did with the past 2 chapters.
Thats why I'm so glad the pilot is still canon, it's always going to be there and we'll always have them as part of the Helluverse. Its like having HS friends you lose contact with when you go off to college. You get new friends new hobbies all that, but you'll always have the memories of the friends of then
This is what you get when you take true professionals who aren't there for just a paycheck but to infuse characters with their soul. You get something that is far greater and meaningful than what they set out to do. Even though they may not still be a part of the project, it wouldn't have become what it is without them. P.S. Right back at you to the cast.
I can close my eyes and see all of them(well, their characters since i don't know how half of them look like) singing this as an encore on a stage and graciously bow down to the audience. To all those wonderful artists that made us believe in the mission of the Hazbin Hotel, thank you, and goodnight.
Black Gryphon's "Insane" song is what got me interested in Hazbin Hotel, and Micheal Kovach's voice acting has led me to quite a few new indie projects I'm now a fan of as well. This Fandom has completely enthralled me through all the controversy and drama over the years. The years of waiting would have been unbearable without these lovely voices and the characters they brought to (after)life for us.
I was hoping some of the reacters I followed would react to this one as well. With the full show so front and center right now, I was worried this one might slip through the cracks, and it really is quite sweet.
honestly a wonderful send off. I adore the new voice actors and while I think it was the right direction for the way the show was going, the original voices still have a spot in my heart. They did so much for all of us and I'm so thankful for them.
I've heard you mention his song "Insane" before and it's one of my favorites, but have you heard Sylva Hound's song "Radio Play"? It's sung by both OG voices of Alastor; Ed Bosco and Black Gryph0n. If not, I definitely recommend giving it a listen or even doing a reaction to it. You'll really enjoy it.
Im seriously so greatful vivyzypop's stuff got popular, she seriously deserves to be recognized for the amazing stuff she makes. It was also so sweet to do this as a reminder that the origonal cast will always be amazing and important.

What I love is there's 0 bitterness from the cast. It's rare to see actors handle being recast with such grace and maturity.
It's just a shame how much of the fandom isn't following their lead...
