- HELLO! If you like my videos and would like to help me somehow please read!
Recently my positive organ had to suffer some upgrades and the wind blower does not work anymore for it. Unfortunately my instrument is dead until i have a new blower but it is very expensive, not manufactured in Brazil and worst, even more inaccessible now because of Brazil economic situation and high currency devaluation.
ANY help is welcome if you could! I´ve started a crowdfunding

Jean-Baptiste Loillet de Ghant - Sonata in C for Recorder (Melodica), Viol, Harpsichord
Recorded by Eduardo Antonello
Hi there!
This a project i had been thinking how should sound but i was sure i wouldn´t find none to play the continuo for me so i decide to make this bizarre experiment. Hope you like it!
Begining I Adagio 01:21
II Vivace 03:10
III Adagio 05:20
IV Allegro 06:49
V Adagio 08:55
VI Allegro 09:41
Wow, man - that's breathtakingly good! Your performance holds up to the highest standards for authentically performed period music and you do it with three completely different instruments, containing even (though) a M e l o d i c a . Dear Sir, I seriously regard you as a genius. Greetings and best wishes to you from Germany
Well, thank you very much my friend! I´m really happy you enjoy this video! Not a genius, just insisting to play some instruments :p
The 21st century is an amazing time! If the composer saw this he'd probably be quite intrigued by that instrument! This really is early music in a different way.
Also, you play that melodica beautifully.
Thank you very much! I´m glad you enjoyed this :)
Performance de época, música e criatividade!
Very good! The melodica is as expressive as a flute or oboe. And you can on it very well articulate and play with all dynamics. You are a good advocate for this nice instrument.
Thank you very much Gerard for enjoying this try :) Best regards!
Bravo! A surprise that more baroque composers didnt' use the melodica ;-)
Thank you David :p
Sounds good, all in all the Melodica is a reed instrument, and could be replaced with a Krumhorn or a Regal.
Would be really funny to see a MiniMoog in the place of the Melodica.
The melodica makes a decent stand-in for a small portative organ or regal; it could even be placed on a small stand or music desk and played with two hands.
True my friend!
What a beautiful music played of a piece of plasic!
Wow that was immaculate! I have been following this channel for years and everything you do is beautiful, astonishing and elegant! And such great taste for music and fashion you have bravo!!!
I've been enjoying your videos. They all are delightful, making me smile, but this one especially! I hope more will be forthcoming. And I enjoyed you combination of "antique" instruments. I'm not so sure that the absence of vibrato bothers me on a period piece. Well done!
It seems to be the most inspiring record and brightest new musical discovery of the year!
Wow, I love how you interact with your alter egos, cuing them in, delightful.
Hahaha... the two guys looks like time travelers coming to your apartment just to jam with you... hahaha... love you!
Hahahaha thank you!
Gorgeous!!
...and I'm beginning to think the 'one thumb down' must be some automatic feature of youtube :)
Maravilha!
What's not to love? Interesting composer, and splendid music expertly played by an 'ensemble' seamlessly woven together. Bravo maestro, and thank you.
Thank you very much for your words! All the best, Ed
Absolutely brilliant introduction for me to the crumhorn. Loving the music!
What a hoot! A really fun new way to present the piece.
Geniale! Sei sempre una bellissima sorpresa, caro Eduardo!
Most welcome! Great to hear and see
Bravo - to all three musicians ;-)
Excellent musicien, funny and ....hansome.
Thank you Sean! Im glad with this =) Best wishes from Brazil!
you are SO GOOD:) and the way you make your videos is - for me - outstanding and so full of inspiration. best wishes across the ocean:)
i was thinking about buying a spinet how are they for a harpsichordist? and what is there usual keyboard range? what's the major difference in sound?
you're certainly gifted! a pleasure to hear! playing w/ grace, energy and verve : ) !
Glad you like it :)
Lol, great video, Duds! The chap in the middle looks very elegant.
This is wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you James!
Que legal, curti... Bravo!
Another great video; never seen someone so clever with so many instruments! Video's too funny !!
:) Thank you! Happy you like it
This is great! I've been planning some experimentations.
The way you make your videos is just fabulous. They're so entertaining and funny. The music is great as well. We have such a rich heritage to explore.
I´m happy you like it Katie!
Early Music in a different way ;) I most certainly do. I only listen to what's broadly described as classical music, so I'm always on the lookout for new music, performers and interpretations.
:)
Merci Jean-Claude!
Great music. Enjoyed it. Thank you so much
Thank you! :)
Thank you Grigory! :)
einfach klasse!
you are my hero :) excellent work
hahaha thank you!
Interesting. Great expression.
Thank you!
Hello my friend! Yes, it was just an experiment. Best regards
Magnificent!!!!!!!
Thank you so much!!!
I love this!
Thank you so much for your help, Pamela! More videos to come. Keep tuned. Best wishes from Rio de Janeiro. Ed
@piepsi1 Lol Piepsi, i think i need an iron helm. What you think about it?
An excellent piece of music.
Thank you!
Of course, I love this one too!

Thank you Peter!
That harpsichord sounds very nice
Great performance of a lovely sonata (No 1 from Loeillet's Opus 3 set of sonatas).
Thank you!
Thank you! :)
AMAZING! as usual...
Thank you dear Laura! All the best from Rio ;)
Merci Bruno!!!
=) Don´t worry, i imagine that. Im glad you like it anyway!
J'aime...
Bravo
Thank you André. This instrument isn´t a baroque one but i´ve tried this for Loillet :) In english we call melodica and portuguese escaleta. Best regards!
Lol, thank you! Best regards
Eduardo, I don't want to take up too much of your time, but.... the harpsichord here looks like a type that I know of as "an english bentside spinet". They seem to have a warmer sound than other types. What do you think? I love your work, it's heartwarming.
Ray Kent Hey Ray. You are rigth. Sometimes the timber can be quite different because of the mixing and the position of the microphones. Best wishes!
@notacontronota Thank you my friend!
Grande abraço e muito obrigado!
that´s the ideia =P
Capo!!!!!!
Complimenti!!!
Grazie!!!
+Lucas Santos Obrigado Lucas.
Cheers! For some strange reason I seem to have posted the comment on the wrong video, meant to post it on the 'Crumhorn Consort' one, haha!
@heartseme Thank you!!! =)
@AlainNaigeon Merci Alain!
The melodica played here is a Yamaha p37 right?
+Hans Hylkema Yes that´s it.
+Early Music in a different way ;) Thanks for your response. You play very well btw.
+Hans Hylkema Thank you very much Hans. Very kind words! All the best from Rio
Is that Dr Who in the middle having been transported back to the baroque period... ...where's the Tardis?
Hahahaha could be
00:46 the baroque men summoning a person from future time
Olá Antonello!Poderia m/enviar s/ e-mail?
Well, that dude in the middle does not really look like a baroque guy... *scnr* ;)
+Giuseppe Bartoluccio Hehehehe =P
Nice performance. I'm not sure what that thing is, but for me it doesn't have a very interesting sound. I know I miss vibrato.
Thank you J.J.! Can you send your e mail to reply your message? I could not do it by youtube mine is eduardoantonello@gmail.com
Hey! Indeed, vibrato is impossible on it :) Regards
Indeed, it´s possible trough breath control (Ok, it´s more like tremolo, but who cares?..) - watch?v=XtsZZKZcNC4 . By the way, i consider you a genius ...Greetings from Brazil.
lovely interesting, funny, great :) I've studied tis Sonata on the recorder my versions sounds less interesting ;)
Thank you! I would love to play it on the recorder but i´m not sure about my skills for the quick parts. Best!
my skills are still not to my liking but.... maybe I reach the next level
:)
=)
Porque a Melodica...? É tão contra Barroco, e tão anti Barroco :c
Mas chelente interpretação :D parabéns ^^
Obrigado Luis.
Obrigado Luis.
:p
