The Osaka manager knew the table would kill him or his daughter. One of the people running the hotel would have to die. If they both limped away, they would potentially come after his daughter in the next few days or relatively soon. He knew when he got himself killed they would not kill his daughter. Dying was to protect his daughter.

The cars are not CGI. They separated a part of the traffic and most of the cars are stunt cars with stuntmen but some of them are ordinary people and traffic and the director said that the overhead shot in the building is inspired by the game Hong Kong Massacre.
One of the stunt guys mentioned that a few of them were recycled over a dozen times for this movie. Makes sense.
Caine gave his eyes to the Table, just as John gave his ring finger to the Table. "He'll make it your choice. Think twice before accepting."
That end credit scene calls back to John and Common at the bar in the second movie. "So you're free." "Am I?" "No. Not at all." (Which is why John's tombstone might be fake.)

The fire ammo (Dragons Breath) is indeed a real life incendiary ammo! It looks even cooled being shot, you can find people using it at ranges on RUclips!
But in the film, Keanu said nothing actually came out of the shotgun. They added the fire and blood spots digitally in post production. Makes sense and no one was actually hurt in production.
Donnie Yen was definitely the best addition. Keanu is great but watching Donnie Yen fight is next level

Nunchucks are actually extremely effective weapons, if one knows how to use them. It’s essentially a flail. The momentum you can get with those things will break bones, and can be equivalent to someone cracking a bat over your skull. They’re only labeled useless, bc most people aren’t skilled enough to use them.
The action in this movie never stops, it just keeps going!
I think they make a lot of the big deaths vague so they can decide if they want to bring the character back later. I personally don’t think John is dead at all but he has to hide since he made so many enemies. The franchise is gonna continue through spin-offs and prequels. Ana de armas is supposed to be the lead in the next installment titled “Ballerina”.

Chapter 4 is resoundingly the best Wick sequel - but I still prefer cold-blooded efficiency over bloody excess, no matter how artfully and, at times, playfully staged.

The sec i saw that top down shot it instantly reminded me of Dragon Tiger Gate, and almost forgot that was a Donnie Yen flick too. really like the stylized action in dragon tiger gate especially the nunchaku stuff : D
Nunchucks are not just a movie weapon, they can be very painful and deadly if you know what your doing!!!
50:48 the reason they are cutting the bullet is so that it has a better chance of fragmenting upon impact and doing more damage to the body internally.
The problem with this is that it increases the chance of the gun malfunctioning because if the round fragments too early, it can damage the gun.
The fourth movie was to be the last. Only after it did well did they decide to do fifth. So ending wise I see it as interesting. It wasn't really any emotional death, which makes me think he's not really dead. Usually deaths are pretty emotional and you can tell whats going on. We also never seen his body be buried, which we all know if there is no body, the person may not be dead.
I think originally he indeed dead, but they filmed it without seeing him get buried, just in the off chance the movie did well and they decided to make a fifth one. Leaving it that way so they have a blank section to fill in for a fifth one like "Here's really what happened after he laid down on the stairs".
Now it would be a very good twist if he really is dead. Some say he really is and its why we have a bonus scene at the end, maybe the daughter will be the new main person. Or maybe the blind guy and she didn't end up killing him. It leaves a lot open to who could take over the role.
I think though if they go the route of John is really dead, it may kill the next movie as John is who we all want to see. He was able to pull it off because of his hard work, dedication, learning....etc.
In the end, what they do next will either continue kill or keep the series going. Though there was this statement:
“We’re building out the world and when that fifth movie comes, it will be organic - will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick.”
How can they do a 5th one when John Wick died?
Nunchaku are not useless. Someone that knows how to use those things will knock a person out or break a limb in one swing.
Also, there's no way John is dead. There are a ton of cues that shows he's alive. The most glaring is that there is grass covering John's grave. The second is that Winston says "Who knows" to the King when he asks about Heaven or Hell. The king realizes John is alive and starts to laugh. Lastly, John can shoot someone in the head with no issue. John and Caine were just grazing each other so they could trick Marquis.

Klaus is played by the infamous Berghain Doorman Sven Marquardt. He's certainly a character...
Also John Wick being dead doesn't mean that John is... as they refer to him as two separate people The Killer and The Husband.

Keanu Reeves did 90% of his stunts in this movie including the car chase in Rome.
I think the only stunts he didn't do were the high falls on the cars and concrete. Insurance would let him do it.
Keanu would say he does his own action and his stunt double does the stunts. It’s just that what Keanu calls “action” is what 99% of actors would have their stunt doubles do.

Those "explosive" rounds are called dragons breath. Its a real shotgun round that shoots fosfer flakes along with the normal shotgun ammo
i think Caine hid John since he owes John, Caine and Akira gets violent or in trouble, John goes out to save them and turns out The Table knew and wanted to bring him out. John see his new opponent, Longest LIving Table Member, Hugo Weaving appears "Mr. Johnathan", John says "You", then Hugo goes "Yes, Me Me Me Me".
Killa harkan played by Scott Adkins is a stuntman/martian artist and an actor played in undisputed 2,3 and 4 called boyka as the main lead, in Universal soldier and 1 of the expendables movies..
The shotgun isn’t explosive, it’s incendiary Dragon’s Breathe rounds. It’s basically a flamethrower-shotgun. Explosive shotgun ammo does exist, but this isn’t it.
I made some other comments but wanted to make this one separate. A big thing has come up about one very important thing in the movie. John faking his death is.... he had no need to. He was free of the high table. Everyone won in the end. So faking his death wouldn't make sense really. Which may point towards he really is dead. Though in my mind I think he would fake it anyways so no one comes back to make him do more somehow. Though if he is still alive, it would mean he gets pulled back in anyways. It seems like a awful lot of silliness for no reason if he came back and then got pulled back into the very thing he wanted to escape in memory of his wife.
They put emphasis on consequences in this one and how things don't end with the Table or their markers. Caine was free from the Table, but Akira came for him in Paris at the end credits. How many grieving loved ones would someone like John have coming after him?
Most people missed the point of him dying in the middle of the stairs signifying he didn’t make it to heaven or hell

I did not know how long it was when I went to the theater. I felt it towards the end, but look forward to a second viewing at home where I have option to break it up

They wanted to make 2 movies back to back 4 and 5... But that would put too much restraint on the crew and they didn't want the quality to go down because the crew and cast would be working for a long time.. so now is waiting on "the ballerina" movie and "the continental" tv show. Donnie yen wouldn't mind if they made a Caine spin-off. And didn't you see the last part where Akira goes to Caine who is going to his daughter carrying flowers.

It's pretty obvious that John's death is that ambiguous because they don't know if he'll come back. If he does not return, death has already been "official" in the finale of this film. So for now, yes, John Wick is dead.

They are making a movie called Ballerina that takes place between John Wick 3 and 4, a show called Continental, and they've already started on John Wick 5. I don't believe he is dead. I think he's in hiding, taking a break. The end credit scene was also left open ended to further the storyline. This franchise is one of my top 3 favorites. There's definitely more Keanu to come.
Chad Stahleski said that he and Keanu are taking a break, and Keanu said he would only be interested in making 5 if Chad was involved. The studio may be making a 5th one, but it doesn't sound like Keanu will be in it.

My dad stopped watching this movie and said its the worst movie ever because it was ludicrous how much John survived. I mean, come on now, if he was like everyone else, he wouldn't have even made it the the end of the first movie lol.
