It's a metaphor for depression. They're in a sort of purgatory. There's a literal black hole under the passenger seat, so anything that falls down there is lost forever.
The guy with sideburns plays in a band that (within the context of the film) played this song and a number of other songs Eugene Hütz wrote for the movie. He was supposed to play Sideburns, but his obligations to his band kept him from doing it.
Nick Offerman also makes a cameo.

    Lyrics
When there's a trap set up for you
In every corner of this town
And so you learn the only way to go is underground
When there's a trap set up for you
In every corner of your room
And so you learn the only way to go is through the roof
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground
And as we're crossing border after border
We realize that difference is none
It's underdogs who, and if you want it
You always have to make your own fun
And as the upperdog leisurely sighing
The local cultures are dying and dying
The programmed robots are buying and buying
And a psycho load of freaks they are still trying trying
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground
And as the boy scouts learn to read between the lines
The silver rabbits hop between their fathers' lies
And boy scouts ask "Where? Where do they go?"
They go to the country that they only know
Just like their meanings they lay between the lines
Between the borders their real countries hide
    The strategigo's saw their advertise
Their strategy of being is one of in-your-face disguise
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground!
And when their own walls they will a-crumble,
And all the systems will be discumbumbled,
Around the stump of bigotry, our own
    Серебряные зайцы водят хоровод!
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground
Ooohoohoooh through the roof, and underground
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof, underground
    Ooohoohoooh through the roof! Underground!
    Серебряные зайцы там водят хоровод!
    Through the roof! And underground!

One of my fav movies that I can't share with my family and friends, in fear that they might think I'm suicidal or depress (I'm not suicidal & depress). 😅

But I've never seen the movie because I don't know if I'd be strong enough if even this moves me so much.

@@jaromir_kovarhope you have watched it. It's one of my all time favorite films ever and as a little emo kid totally shaped my views on true love, led me to discovering the magical fun of Gogol Bordello's music, best cameo of Tom Waits ever, and also helped inspire me to stop engaging in self harm. Patrick Fugit and Shannon Sosamon are two of my dearest favorite actors and embody the early 2000s in my mind ❤
