PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring these drivers on a trip to Korea. I think the experience the fellas from school experienced will be an even more mind-blowing cultural experience for these guys who have spent the boys' lifetime (some twice over) within the UK not knowing what it's like outside of there. Not including the fact that these guys probably haven't experienced a proper vacation, I can't help but think that they not only deserve the experience but more than anything deserve a break from their day-to-day lives. I would watch that series over and over again.
I love how many people come onto this channel worried and saying they're picky eaters or dont like certain foods, only to leave basically planning their next Korean meal. It's great that these videos are never about getting a shocked reaction or to make people uncomfortable, but rather to give opportunities to try new things and maybe find something they like.
10:16 when he says it tastes like his mum's cooking, that's gotta be something special and nostalgic. That's what I love about cooking and the food culture
Older adults were raised in households where they remembered or experienced the effects of the Second World War including starvation and lack of wood to burn for fuel. Rationing lasted for a long time so eating pig's trotters was nothing to their parents especially when you consider that children only saw bananas for the first time after WW2.
@gkim8158 1970s? Wow. I bet sugar was expensive too. I remember my grandmother saying how she dreamt about sugar and butter as they were rationed. She saw a banana in the late 1940s or early 1950s and they were expensive as you say. People ate what they could including offal which we wouldn't eat now. Bone broth too was a big thing as it was cheap and nourishing. We have high food standards in the UK and a LOT of bureaucracy which is are good for our health, food hygiene and animal welfare. But there is a huge disassociation between the meat products we see in the shops and the animals themselves. Most people would be sick at the thought of eating pig's feet, ears, cheeks, chicken's heart, tripe, etc, but other countries love them. Yet strangely blood sausage (black pudding) and haggis are very popular. In my opinion, the animal is dead and in honour of it, we should eat the whole of it. We're lucky to have good access to food- and despite the stereotype, Brits love strong flavours, spices and eating all sorts of food. We're not just roast beef, fish and chips or Marmite!🤣🤣
@@gkim8158 We were lucky as bananas were probably more accessible for us thanks to the old alliances. Our first bananas were imported at the end of the war, but only kids and the elderly were allowed to eat them in order to boost their health. My uncles were little children who didn't have a clue what to do with a banana. They're still not keen even now as one tried eating the skin. 🤢😆 And the UK was still rationing food until 1954 - so being a fussy eater actually meant starvation on top of already scarce food. Our generations now are spoilt brats by comparison - and I am very grateful for that opportunity. Britain was really fortunate that we could recover after WW2 and not face another war in 1950s unlike Korea. How Korea recovered so well given the horrors and hardships during and after both wars is testament to her people and the sheer will of those generations. Much respect.

But they all love new experiences, and when it's presented like this, it's just pure love. Through food! Great video, more more more more more :)
I was JUST saying this week that I wanted the cab drivers back! It feels like a dream come true. We LOVE these guys, please bring them back for more!! They're so entertaining and wholesome.
I am so glad to see these guys again! I've been waiting for what seems like 2 years! As usual there's just such sweet gentle men and so willing to try anything! Mike is a new edition and he seems like such an adorable person!
THEY'RE BAAAAAACK!!!! I enjoy watching them all, and am thrilled at their return, but Unko Alan & Unko Billy hold a special place in my heart. Their duo? The sweetest! Glad to see the return of these hard working men! Let's fahking goooooooo!!!
Fun to watch, as always. Lots of cultures have a term for the rice at the bottom of the pot. In Puerto Rico it is pegao, which is a shortened version of the Spanish word for “stuck”, and lots of people will intentionally not stir a rice dish they make as much as they could so that they leave a healthy amount of pegao to cook around the pot. For lots of people, it is the best part of making a rice dish.
I NEED TO SEE THEM EXPERIENCING KOREAN public transport. Like seriously. Love this series. Also, I just love the editing team, they respect the guests so much. Its not about making anyone look bad, just honest human interaction.
THE CAB DRIVERS ARE BACK!!! I FEEL LIKE CRYING
There is more of the cab drivers?! I LOVED this!! I'm gonna deep dive to find more, so excited!!

I wasn't because we've the cabbies in action on the channel before and know they're lovely people who are open to trying new things

This is everything I wanted today and didn't know I needed. I missed the cab drivers so much!
