This was an amazing build of the Jon Snow's sword for my best friend :D
I actually recorded a Game of Thrones Theme for ending shots, but I got a copyright strike, so I removed the song :(
It took me 20 hours to make it :/

That is a beautiful piece, I love how you managed to recreate a metallic looking sword out of wood and even managed to replicate a pattern welded look as well. Only thing I would have added is a proper leather wrapped handle, The black paint was too perfect making it look odd to me. Other than that what a talent I'd rather pay £500 for that instead of the prop replica.

Beautiful work as always! Loved the attention to detail in this build. The fact that you gave it distal taper and a nice clean fuller really makes the overall look. That and the watered steel effect you managed with the sponge. Overall a very authentic look. Just wow! Now your friend needs a leather covered wooden scabbard, or at least one made to look the part.

Epic Workshop I made a wooden strider sword from LotR once and a custom sword for my senior project with the same type of technique, so I know how much fun it was to make this haha

Scraper part is hard on your fingers, I was scraping for 2 hours 😂 but it was worth 😄

Yeah, the "damascus" style look came out completely by accident, I really don't know if I could reenact that hahah I was like 😍😍😍 when i was making it hahah
About the tools, everything is okay for start 😊 make your plane sharp as rator 😉, but I really recommend you to get a spokeshave 😊
I also started like that and than you will slowly upgrade your tool collection and skill 😉

Can someone explain me what damascus means? Can't find definition or translate.
Damascus steel is a forging technique that originated from the antiquity where the best forged steel was from the city of Damas, the steel had a unic molecular lattice and the source materials as well as the technique made amazingly good steel for the time. Now people make "damascus" weapons or objects by stacking multiple layers of steel with different carbon percentage and folding it like croissant pastry. Folding it differently gives the damascus a different unique look (look up jellyroll or twisted damascus)
