Well done Annie. You've enjoyed and recognised these special occasions for what they are, and that they are not your norm. That's a great mindset to have and will stand you in good stead for reaching your goal. 🌟
Thank Linda, yes, I think I'm getting the hang of it, my new lifestyle is beginning to settle in and become my new normal, I feel really encouraged by that :) xo
Well, I take that as a win, Annie, considering your social eating events. In the past, that sort of thing has thrown me off track completely, but now we are wiser and the fact that you are getting straight back on track and remaining accountable is going to stand you in good stead for the future. Have a lovely time this afternoon and that top looks fabulous on you! 🥰
Thank you so much Kari, that's how I'm choosing to think of it, and hoping I've got the right approach now, so that I can maintain this lifestyle into the future. I think it's the first time I've felt truly in control, although it's the slowest weightloss I've done, I believe it's more sustainable in the long term. I do love that top, need some new trousers though, maybe I'll trying doing a makeover on them :) xo
Well done Annie. It is still a win . It would be really miserable for all of you not to have enjoyed your meal out . Please wish John happy birthday from me. Just remind yourself it's a marathon not a race. It's all the changes you are making now that will become your norm and that will continue to work long term. I never thought I would give up beef. I found I was getting some very odd side effects . Stopped eating it and boy was I so much better. That was 8 years ago, I stick to some chicken and fish but mostly plant. I was really surprised how easy it was to stop eating beef, pork etc. You are honestly doing so well. Be kind to yourself.
thank you Carol, and of course you're absolutely right, we have to think long term. I do sometimes fancy meat, I used to like things like belly pork and lamb shanks (all the fatty ones!) and I love salmon, but honestly I don't miss them really and these days it's so much easier to eat veggie isn't it? Whether cooking at home or eating out, there are so many more options available. It's a shame that plant-based substitutes tend to be as expensive or more even than meat, but it's nice that usually they're lower in calories and saturated fats. A lot of the time, I just just have lentils or beans instead and we eat a LOT of vegetables. I can't get into Tofu, tried it a few ways and can't seem to get it right, do you have any tips for cooking with tofu ? xo
Annie I think it’s great that you enjoyed your celebrations with John. Remember you’re in this for the long term so some treats are just fine. Be gentle, kind and supportive of yourself xx
Thank Christine, yes you're right, I'm trying to see this as part of a long-term plan, so it has to be sustainable and that includes special occasions of course. And I did REALLY enjoy all the treats :) xo
Hi Annie ., I just came across your channel. Can I just say you are officially the bravest woman I have ever known. ( not that I know you ). You are such an inspiration .. thank you for sharing this journey and good luck ❤❤
Thank you so much! How kind of you Eileen - honestly I think it is less scary to do this than to walk into one of those slimming clubs, which terrify me! thank you for watching and tking the time to comment, I really appreciate it :)
Good on you Annie. A big part of maintaining weight loss is being able to celebrate with friends and loved ones and then getting back to it. Would love it if you could share the name of the app you are using. Had a quick look but to no avail
Thank you Oh you are good I put on half a pound. Trying to keep to 1200 calories well done for staying the same and having a good time we all deserve treats and you seem to be striking the right balance ❤
Thank you Pippa, I hope so, but let's see what the scales say next week. I reckon if it's only half a pound it doesn't even really count, it's just a blip. 1200 calories is tough isn't it? I mean it's enough to get your nutrition and not go hungry, but it's not enough that you can take your eye off the ball for a couple of days, that's the trouble. I hope that by the time I get to my target, I'll be so in the habit of eating the right kinds of foods and the right portion and also being more active, so that I won't have to count calories forever, cos that could get tedious. Cross that bridge when we come to it though I guess. Hope you're having a good week, see you on Monday :)
Hallooooo, darling! Please wish John a very happy birthday! Mine is next Saturday. I am slowly becoming plant-based, too. I don't eat red meat any longer and very rarely eat chicken. I do like some fish once in a while. Please don't beat yourself up? It is a journey and you are doing SO well! I am beyond proud of you, dear friend. It is good news that you haven't gained. You're maintaining and learning a new lifestyle, right? It's all a give and take. I love that you're such a social butterfly with all of these lovely meals out and a party! You look gorgeous in your lovely new top, Annie. I am still snort-laughing about the scale reflection! I can sooooooo relate to that! LOL I am going to send you an email. I've a very funny story to tell you about work. I am well chuffed for you about your progress. We are all behind you! Hang in there, Sweet Girl! Much, much love and bless xoxoxox
Thanks so much Lindsey, it's Friday as I type this, so Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I hope you have a day off and some treats planned :) hehehe thank goodness I spotted the rogue reflection before I put the video out, I would have been mortified - it might even have gone viral, imagine that!!! Itching to read your funny story, I'll watch out for your email. Have a wonderful birthday my lovely xo
@@artyfartyannie How kind you are, dear friend! Thank you so much! I adore you. Alas, I shall be working. The hotel business grants no concessions for celebratory milestones for it's management. However, my boss is a god among men and has arranged to have some lovely food brought in and presented me with a beautiful gift yesterday. I was beyond touched and moved. A couple of my favourite recurring guests will be InHouse over the weekend and I am looking forward to sharing my Sat evening with people that I truly enjoy being around. I'm looking forward! I am still chuckling at the prospect of you not catching your reflection in time and sharing your glorious self with the world! It is SO like something that I would do. Good thing you are quicker and more intelligent than I :) LOL What's the saying? "If you've got it, flaunt it!" xoxo
You need to celebrate birthdays and special events. That helps you to handle the normal day to day activities. You will get back into your diet groove! Hang in there!
Part of your life after weight loss will include nights out and knowing how to balance it all. It sounds like you are on the path to manage it. Well done. X
Thank you Pippa, that's how I'm going to think about it. It's Friday as I type this, so I've settled back in to my new normal, had a sneaky weigh yesterday and I'vedropped another pound - so as long as that "sticks" it feels like I'm back on track again, so feeling positive about it overall xo
Ah yes the dreaded let’s celebrate time. You’ve done very well staying the same weight I would be supper happy too. New life styles take a while to stick so stick in there, soon it will feel like the norm. I am finding exercise this year in the winter very hard (yes I know I’ve been sick) it’s just so jolly cold think this might be the coldest Its been here. Opened the door the other day for a short walk and I was oh hell no far to cold, gave in about two hours later and hat, gloves, scarf, jacket all on got Cleo ready walked out got to the end of street and it was pick up Cleo she was going no further and leg it home, lol got a jog kind of in. Brr have fun in the sun ☀️ maybe walk an extra 10 minutes for me as it’s very brrr out there today this way I can say I walked, lol 😜. I will do for you when you are in winter. Maybe even play and frolic on the beach in summer for you. ❤
hehe that's a funny picture in my head now Paula, you legging it back up the road with Cleo in your arms, bet it took you longer to get all your gear on! Ok, deal, I'll do an extra walk for you and you can do a bech frolic for me in your summer. it's a funny old year isnt' it? We had three days of sweltering heat, now back to chilly and overcast and I had to put a pair of socks and a cardi on just now :) xo

Thank you Mandy, I still can't, but finding the trousers were too big to wear did make me think I must really have made a difference. :) xo

Thank you Rhonda - it was lovely, three special events very close together, but I really enjoyed them and now back on track :) xo
You need to celebrate birthdays and special events. That helps you to handle the normal day to day activities. You will get back into your diet groove! Hang in there!
Thank you Rose, I'm back in that groove this week, let's see if the scales agree on Monday! :) xo
