well with a full sheet, its heavy enough to prevent the movement, but in general when cutting with nitrogen or compressed air at 240psi, its customary to have to clamp or weight thin sheets down, they tend to want to blow around alot
I really enjoy your videos and have been watching for years. I have a throw-back video question for you. When you made the Ford sign, where did you get the round blue decreative pieces you put around the out side face of the sign? I was getting ready to pull the tirgger on the plasma cutter you used when they announced they were retiring.
Thanks for watching Curits. I bought those from I site that sells high end bike parts and fastners, and I bought them and some aluminum annodized fastners a few years ago and had them around, then decided to use them on that project. I dont even remember the name, but maybe do a google search for "annodized aluminum bike bolts"
Man I hope the part about steeling stuff was just a sarcastic joke. I just sent this video to a friend of mine who is looking for a laser. This will be the first video of yours that he's ever seen.
How are you getting these and paying the #9903 additional (ends up totaling) a 35% tariff? I bought a 3k fiber laser with rotary for 81k and just got a bill from my broker for 29k in tarriffs on top of the 18k for the container! 48k additional! I actually threw up
I hope your not lowering the invoice amount because my broker already told me about the investigation lists they have compiling of fraudulent invoice prices. Supposedly they will charge the “market rate” and access penalties.
@@robertross7028 yep, I pay all the same tarriffs and fees. Not sure why you said 35%. I pay 28.5%. Glad to hear about the investigation. I have all my documentation well organized and ready. The 3k I just installed was $22k to get to Houston then $4k to hotshot to Michigan. I factor all this in, put a markup on it to cover the install time, and access into my ongoing support, videos, and spare parts inventory
Gary, a really nice looking shop I hope it doesn't become smoked up like mine. Have Robin show you our improvised " fume extraction " hood . Our next laser from you will be enclosed so I can get the smoke out a bit easier. Buy from Gary Ramsey he is top notch.
Oh yea, especially oxygen cutting, it can be messy for sure. I will ask Robin to send me a pic, interested to see it. Yea we need to get you that 6kw enclosed machine and a press brake.
This is the kind of realistic, what can go wrong and how to make it go right videos that we need more of.
that smile said it all when he saw those little pieces. I would be smiling too haha
Cool part of Missouri for sure.
Yes, great people there, neat area for sure. MO has been kind to me the last few weeks!
That dog had your number 😂
lol, yep, mr. security officer on the job!
what brand of this laser machine?
So how'd you solve the racking issue? Tighten down the slats? Drop the pressure? Clamp the metal?

Hi Gary, what would be the expected peak power consumption for 3kW Laser in VA / kW?
around 25amps of 240v3ph, they sip power
Shop boss was keeping an eye on you!!
yea... she was "laser focused" on me lol
Thanks for your video very informative. Would you advise 240v 1500w fiber laser over 380v. Planning to get some but not sure. Thanks
Most all of them are 380v that I have seen.
