  • CIMMYT has launched a ‘TED Talk meets fireside chat’-style series on women leaders. As Marion Wright Edelman said, “You can’t be what you can’t see.” If we want more women leaders in science institutions like ours, we need to provide more opportunities to hear from women leaders about their life journeys, lessons, and insights. We seek to highlight women who are leaders in all sorts of capacities, fields and disciplines, because we believe that leadership styles can take many different forms.
This is our latest episode from the series Catalysts of Change, from Tuesday June 4, 2024.
    Presenting Natasha Santos
Natasha Santos, Head of Sustainability and Strategic Engagement at Bayer.
Natasha Santos is an executive with over 19 years of extensive experience in agriculture, food, and life sciences. Leading a dynamic team, she seamlessly integrates sustainability into Bayer’s operations, creating value and resilience for farmer clients through innovation and partnerships. Natasha actively engages stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives, advocating for agricultural transformation and empowering farming communities worldwide. She serves as Vice President of the Business at OECD’s Food and Agriculture Committee, is a member of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures, and is a senior advisor in the World Economic Forum’s Champions for Nature Network.
Natasha will be conversing with Carolina Sansaloni, a molecular geneticist, curator of the Wheat Germplasm Bank, and leader of the Genetic Analysis Service for Agriculture, a high-throughput genotyping platform managed by CIMMYT’s Seeds of Discovery initiative that uses Diversity Arrays technology. Sansaloni regularly contributes to projects of strategic importance in wheat pathology, disease resistance, quality, functional genomics, and bioinformatics.
