I have not tried to do it with the fill plug out. I’ve never seen the inside of the casting so I’m not sure if the oil would end up coming out of the open hole. But if you try it and it works, please let us know!
2014 - 2018 Macan transfer case warranty has been extended to 7 years and unlimited miles. Were you able to reset the wear integrator? I'm having transfer case issues and I'm debating on changing the oil or just taking it to the dealership to see if they'll warranty it.
Interesting. I understood the wear integrator value as a sensor that evaluates the fluid integrity. So you think it’s simply a time based thing and is not smart enough to reset itself? As for your other point, if it’s under warranty I’d certainly have the dealership do the work.
@@Breitwerks It's measured in kWh. From what I understand, once it reaches 145 kWh it's supposed to be changed. However the maintenance schedule says 16 years or 160k miles. I'm at 124k miles and my scanner says the transfer case is at 147 kWh. The wear integrator value is supposed to be reset after the transfer case oil is changed to reset it to 0 kWh. I'm not sure if it'll start throwing maintenance messages if you don't, but I'd be worried about Porsche not honoring the warranty because the kWh wasn't reset so they think the oil wasn't changed. I think I'll take it in to the dealership and see if they'll replace the transfer case under the extended 7 year warranty. If they want to try changing the oil first, then I'll pay for that and if it still has the same issues then I'll push to have it replaced under the warranty. We'll see! Wish me luck!
PPF won’t stop corrosion since it would be impossible to completely wrap the part. I would use a zinc primer but a nice coat of something like WD-40 would be easiest.
I’ve kept it that way since new. Gets washed every two years and a silica based coating. Annual service includes spray wax and Boeshield. It’s not that hard to keep them looking good. 😊
That one came in a cheapo, hand vac pump kit. I’m sure the “vac line” plastic connector kits at auto parts stores have them to. You just need a 90’ that is relatively short.
Yes. That's exactly what it states in the factory service manual. Drain plug in place, but inspection plug removed. Fill from vent port, then install inspection port plug. Just did mine this way without issue. You can see the pages on macanforum
Love your Ferdinand comments and realistic advices!
Damn dude your camera is so sharp, love it.
Thank‘s for those important advices and your top explication. Helped me a lot to do it like a pro👍🏻
Excellent video. Dealer wanted to replace the case for $4700. Fluid change fixed the problem for $70, took just an hour. Thanks!!!
What type of issues did you have? Mines is jerking and I was wondering by trying to just replace the fluid

@@richp9305 that’s the exact issue I have, hopefully it works. Car only has 50k miles
Esoteric213I used the existing plug with thread sealant. 7 months later still working fine.
There is extended warranty on your transfer box ( 7 years from anniversary of registration) ,
AWESOME TIP/S TY BROTHER!
Great video mate. Thanks

Thank you!!

Thank you ❤
Nice, anyone know where I can get the shop manuals pdf?
thanks
How tight do the bolts need to be closed?
What is the reference of the fluid? Thanks
would it be easier to fill from the vent tube with the fill hole plug off so the pressure doesn't increase while filling?

What year is this Macan?

Ferdinan's Semen.. LMAO!!!
Edit: Are the 2019+ Facelift, Transfer cases, the same procedure for Fluid Replacement?
really dumb question but can you cover that alumium/magnesium alloy transmission mount with some kind of ppf wrap lol?
Thanks for great video anyway

Hi, is the procedure and amount of fluid 500ml for all Macan Gens please? Mine is a 2017 Gen 1
“All” is a tough word to say regarding anything Porsche builds nowadays. But, the vehicle in the example is a 2017 GTS. I hope that helps.
@@Breitwerks do you have a video on the Trans fluid change?

Can you just do the entire fill from the breather hole?
Good question
