  • Fishing with crabs is a great way to catch a variety of species in the Summer. The mole crab or sand flea is a great option for free bait. They are reliable to catch on the beach and easy to put on a hook. Fish love them, you can also freeze them for future sessions.

I just started watching and really enjoy your videos. I live up in the north west corner of NJ. I do a lot of freshwater fishing primarily panfish now. Hurt my back a few years back I'm 60 yrs old and feel very blessed that atleast I can fish. Very hard for me to go down the shore. But I watch your videos and it brings back memories. THANK YOU

Hey big buck that is great you are getting out to fish! It is a healthy way to spend a day by the water, freshwater or saltwater. I love pan fishing too, especially for crappie. Appreciate you watching and hope you are out there catching them up in NJ

    • @BobAquatic

Try some smaller hooks for puffer like Size #8 and tiny pieces of shrimp. They have small mouths. Clam works too, they'll totally take small pieces of clam

Another nice video! I cant find sandfleas in western LIS for the life of me. But I do find tons of asian shore crabs so i use them in a similar fashion.
Wet rag and ice pack keeps en lively for quite awhile works with killies too

I've looked around those areas and cannot find the fleas either. I think they need more undertow like the south shore provides. shore crabs work great, I do the same thing

    • @BobAquatic
