Are the kastking reels any good? I've heard from some people that they're just cheap Chinese OEM reels that copy other reels.

Bucktails are the best lures you can ever use for saltwater and freshwater. I just bought a two pack of bucktails at Walmart for $2.50 on clearance. They were two 1 oz bucktails in a pack. I grabbed three packs. They're made by a company called hurricane. They're actually pretty decent quality.

Where is this? Ive only fished from American Veterans Memorial Pier but this spring summer I want to fish other parts of Brooklyn. I don't drive so im hoping to find places that are accessible through public transportation.

As far back as I can remember (1950's) green crab was "the" bait for Tautog. Plenty different times, 5 or 6 of us would get up at 4:30am, stop at the old bait on Wellington Avenue on the way out to Castle Hill. We would fill 3 burlap bags with Tautog, head home around 10am. My father and 2 uncles would be scaling and filleting fish for hours. Put enough aside for dinner and all would freeze their share. God, did my mother know how to cook Tautog. 😋

went out a few times in the cold (this my first year fishing) and aint had a single bite! out on the island though, might try some of these NYC piers next day we get some tolerable weather. been too icy this past week!! sick video as always

This is incredible! I've never seen or heard of anyone catching a Striped Bass on a shrimp, but you did. Thank you for sharing the secret. The shrimp must be green.

Hi Bob great to see your ok. I love how excited you get when you catch a fish. I went fishing in a pond last week that had a spot that wasn't frozen. Hard to find in North West NJ in January and caught 5 crappies total in 2 fishing trips and was as excited as you. So I could relate to how you feel

Also how do you like the 3000 size? I’m thinking either 3000 or 4000 so I can swap on a 7 foot rod for kayak and also a 9 foot medium action surf rod. Any suggestion?
