@@KCGemini I think I've narrowed down some of my problems originating from the very start of the hunt. Getting the initial tenderize on an arm is proving difficult if you can offer some advice. I think you can just spam the turn around attack to get it but it doesn't seem to work for me. Unless you need the clutch claw skill to make that work? And then if I'm thinking right, once I can get that done safely I'll hopefully be able to have many more openings due to the extra damage causing knockdowns (fighting as far away from walls so the recovery attack doesn't happen) or Rajang getting exhausted out of the red arm state.
@@hennyzhi2261 If you miss the initial tenderize, then you'll want to watch for some of its higher recovery moves. A rather safe one is when Rajang raises its arms to body slam you. You can use that time to prep a clutch claw counter and get the arm tenderized that way. Another way is by moving away or dodging the 360° spin attack. Dodging tends to give you enough time to clutch claw and slap/tenderize, but moving away just enough to get the claw in is a good option as well; as Rajang occasionally does said move in a predictable manner.
The aerial as well as the ground lightning attacks (*not* the version where it jumps into the air before slamming) have a good chunk of recovery time. For the aerial version, you can get away with using Advancing Guard to go forward, side hopping, and then finish this off with clutch clawing its arm right as said recovery time ends. For the ground beam, you'll want to side hop in order to not touch the beam as otherwise the recovery from blocking it will prevent you from having enough time.
Lastly, knockdowns from its normal form and its rampage mode can also be used to tenderize its arm. Rampage mode is harder to execute since you both have to be aware of when you're near the damage cap and the lower amount of recovery time in comparison to its normal knockdown. In either case, it's a problem when either arm isn't tenderized as only the head takes decent damage.

I remember playing a lot of Lance during my first playthrough of MHWbase game. I didn't use a lot of heals because I rarely got hit, lol good times

never knew about the guard knock back cancel into power guard. I was always confused what to to against rajang even with max guard
It's because Iceborne introduced monsters who could crumple guards even with Guard 5. It wasn't really an issue in base World unless you used lower Guard levels, but it worked the same way (such as when using Guard 1 against Kirin and blocking its hitbox when it activates its Thunder Armor.)

It's less about the turning and more about getting F. Rajang enraged with the early arm tenderize. Although a wall slam can serve the same purpose, it is banned under TA (Time Attack) rules: mhw.wiki-db.com/howtosolota_en

Why are you rarely doing any dash finishers after your triple pokes? I thought the bread-and-butter lance combo in MHW (and MHWI) is supposed to be a triple high poke into a dash finisher? Or have I been playing things wrong this entire time?
It is. However, due to its thrashing, Rajang's downed state makes it hard to consistently hit its face with the dash finisher.
Is running 3 safi and brachy armor better the n teostra and brachy?? I got safi blast lance but not sure which set is best
If you're using Safi's Shattersnout, Teostra x2 with Safi x3 armor and said lance having Teostra's Technique will be the best setup for you to have.
Running Safi x3 with Brachy x2 or Teostra x3 with Brachy x2 wouldn't be as efficient due to affinity and decoration issues.

Also just out of curiosity would I run PP on this set with health aug to reduce safi armor depletion? Or agitator?
@@Liam-dc4zu With that set, PP and Agitator is unnecessary due to Master's Touch and the Safi lance having an extra 20% Affinity.
If you feel like you need the extra damage, then pair it with Resentment. If you do this however, you'll need to skip the Health Augment and get Affinity Increase III.

Would this build work with The Ruinous Lance by any chance bc I don’t have access to Fatalis yet the only two Rarity 12 Lances I have is the Ruinous and light break lances 😎👍
That is fine. You should aim for 70% affinity to crit the head, as it can't be tenderized. The extra damage you get from knockdowns due to part breaks goes a long way to reduce the lethality of Furious Rajang.
Wait, this is the PS4 version? How is it running this smooth?
I'm using a PS4 Pro, which ups the FPS by 10-15 in performance mode compared to the standard PS4.

Is it better damage wise to just triple poke instead of triple poke charge?
It's situation-dependent. Although you will do more damage following every triple poke with a charge, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to pull it off. Furious Rajang is the best example of this, as you're more likely than not to get smacked.

Did u go part breaker for furious rajang?
Nah.
Breaking its parts has no real benefit outside of flinches, and after the break, partbreaker will do nothing.
Rather than using it, you'd benefit more from damage skills as that has the advantage of more DPS over time as well as faster part breaks.

Sadly, I do not remember, and I no longer have my PS4 copy of MHW.
IIRC, it was a mix of event layer armors in-game.
Why do you get hurt while fighting this boss with Lance? Is it possible to not get hurt
Unless you specifically dodge the attacks, then no. Guard 5 is not enough to prevent chip damage.

@@huguiboogieman That's the effect of Safi's armor. Every attempt to use your weapon drains health, but after a certain number of hits, you regain more health than you would have lost... assuming you are taking minor damage.

What does TA mean ?
