I think part of their initial thoughts were from her speaking voice. They didn't expect any power because she sounded a bit meek. Not justifying them but I remember watching this and thinking a bit the same. A great shock and i still listen to it regularly all these years later.

I've been in it for 10 years. There's no scripting, no preplanning and talent alone is never enough. If you don't have either sheer willpower or a good deal of narcissism, you'll never last more than a few weeks at best. In the entertainment industry, only perfect is good enough.

Freakin' amazing! I've watched this at least 30 times and can't stop. The transition from interview to performing, the facial expressions, lil growl, man...again beside myself amazing. Paul Potts is my favorite for the, "transition" aspect, but this song rocks and she nailed it. Great great job!
