Don't know why Nico didn't throw the ball in the end zone and don't know why he didn't spike the ball. We lost valuable tics on the clock. Is spiking the ball a penalty now or something? I know a lot can happen that would be "ideal" for us. I do think in the most likely scenario we need Bama to Beat LSU (and also for UF and Ark to look good) we don't want our best win to be a 3 or 4 loss Bama. ofc if we beat UGA none of that really matters because we would be on our way to ATL
Rooting against teams in our rear view mirror is something that’s always driven me crazy about UT fans. It makes no sense. We want Alabama, Florida and Arkansas to look good for our own sakes. Did NC St and Oklahoma teach us nothing? Don’t let vendettas get in the way of our success. It’s stupid.
@@mgway4661 A lot of longtime Vol fans I know just root for Alabama and Florida to lose every game just because they hate them. Nothing wrong with hating them, but it hurts our cred when they have bad records

A very high probably that Tennessee will: the game is in Athens, and though the defense will keep Tennessee in the game, trying to figure out how Nico will play is the wild card in all of this.
Jesus, so all we have to do is go 11-1 in the SEC and we're in the playoffs? Tell me how that's different from a 4-team playoff again? I mean, wtf, if we can't get in at 10-2 with a conference of GA, Bama, and Tx then hang it up, were never getting in. Also, how in God's name does a 10-2 Bama get in over a 10-2 Vols when the Vols won that h2h matchup?! I dont know if this is overall a bad BlueChip take or the criteria is just extremely flawed, because that is the dumbest rationale I've ever heard. Seriously if we lose to GA in a close battle and win out other games and still dont get in, then the there is something seriously wrong with the Playoff committee.
First off man you need to relax. The way the selection process is supposed to work in the case of record ties is based off of head to head matchups, strength of schedule, and record against common opponents. Based off of that criteria Tennessee could get in at 10-2, but we could also be eliminated at 10-2 based off different scenarios. If we are tied at 10-2 with Alabama they would have a much stronger strength of schedule and strength of record than Tennessee so they might get in over us based on that. It happened back in 2022 when Tennessee beat Alabama, but they got in the playoffs over us. This is a tough league and 10-2 shouldn't be the goal for anyone if they want to make the playoffs. If you think that we won't ever beat UGA then like you said several times, we might as well hang it up. This is the SEC and the championship caliber teams aren't afraid to go anywhere and play anybody. That's a defeatist mindset. We expect to win them all.
Bama didn't make the playoffs in 22. They finished ahead of us at number 5 and we were 6th. They played Kansas state in a new years 6 game and we played Clemson.
@@BenMantooth-vf7df true they didn't get in (even with Saban begging the CFPC on national TV) however you nailed the point, they still got ranked higher than us.
Kidzbop the problem is that there 7 spots for grabs. Currently ND is a shoe in for one of them. The ACC 2nd place team looks like they get in. The Big12 could even attempt to get a 2nd team in tho that is certainly unlikely. Then we have a group of teams in the B10 that are super overrated with basically no good wins that are looking to take some spots. We just have to see how much the CFPC values SoS this year. Even then, we have a decent SoS but not an amazing SoS
Yea there is 7 spots up for grabs but their is like 7 Teams who are still undefeated. 10-2 gonna be everywhere all over the board trying to wanting to make it. I bet 2 2 loss teams get in so gonna be slim pickings. Bottom line if we wanna seal our spot in the playoff. We need tennessee to win out which is possible if we get this offense running like a well oiled machine
After this weekend, the Ole Miss loss to UK looks horrendous. If there was a game we need put points up outside of the UGA game, I feel it's UK, than probably Vandy. But overall defense keeping Vandy low scoring like we have in all games this season will looks as impressive imo. Vandy only committed 3 plays that cost them the game against Texas.
I think it comes down to how they value our SofS at the time the games were played. Almost none of our ranked wins hold water at this point but when we played the games, they were impressive wins. In my opinion, winning and losing effects the trajectory of certain teams psychologically. When you’re a ranked NC State or Oklahoma team and you get absolutely dominated by Tennessee that will effect your path for the rest of the year. Especially when it manufactures a Quarterback controversy that continues to this day (Jackson Arnold). I don’t know. It just seems like every ranked team we play falls apart around the seams when we play them. Like losing to Tennessee is such a shameful thing and your season must be over if that happens. Even the Bama win has people saying “well Bama just isn’t Bama, and to bench Milroe. Fire Deboer, etc” I was ecstatic about Bama shutting out Mizzou and looking like a real team because that shows that Tennessee is a good football team. Unfortunately they will pull the same shit they did in 2022 and put them ahead of us when Saban cries on TV again. It’s crazy how when we are only a 1 loss team and barely in 4th place in the SEC. I am imagining the nightmare scenario of beating UGA just to lose in the final week to Vandy on the road. Who is now unranked but severely underrated. That wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest
A lot of bad takes from outsiders. They take way too much stock in LSU. A&M is good, but i think on a neutral field Tennessee wins. We just need to handle business agajnst Georgia and/or have A&M lose one more then beat texas at season end.
Is it possible there is a 10-2 team that plays in the SECCG? This team could have only one SEC loss but would have lost an outside conference game. If that team loses the SECCG, imo, no way they make the playoffs with 3 losses, especially if they are beaten handedly in the SECCG. That opens the doors for some other teams to backdoor into the playoffs. So we might ask ourselves if it's possible TN makes it in with a loss to UGA by means of backdoor? If that team gets their second SEC loss from the SECCG and now has 3 losses overall, would they get in over a 2 SEC loss 10-2 SEC team?
We can win the Georgia game. Just need Nico to settle in. Georgia doesn't seem to be able to run the ball very well. And throwing it 50 times against this defense with a quarterback that's not mobile (27 yds 65 2.4 avg) Should be able to put our ears back and cause absolute havoc! So this game is on Nico and the receivers. Samson will get his
Ohio State hasn't gone 9-3 since 2011. PSU has James Franklin as their coach. They're not going to the Big 10 championship. I have OSU, Oregon, PSU and Indiana because Notre Dame always messes up down the stretch and Alabama losing to LSU t Death Valley.
Tennessee at 10-2 will get in. The Vols have to make sure that Georgia is its only loss. UT cannot afford a Vandy loss. Right now UT is good because UT > Alabama > Georgia and all 3 are ranked.
Are you old enough to recall what ESPN did to influence the Heisman Trophy voters to choose Charles Woodson over Peyton Manning in 1997? ESPN is even more emboldened now that they hold a monopoly over all live televised SEC football games. So they will not only tank Tennessee just like they did in 1997 if it comes down to a 10-2 finish, they will continue to reap the huge revenue from the high viewer ratings Tennessee fans give.
If that's the case then we're as good as f*cked. Beating GA at GA is near impossible, I don't think it's happened in past 4 years. I never ever would have imagined that 10-2 in SEC wouldn't be good enough for a 12-team playoff. If this is how the rankings are gonna be then we might as well have stuck to 4 teams.
