If Banks leaves, and we get a more dynamic replacement, I'm fine with it. Banks has exhibited arrogance, stubbornness and lack of accountability in big losses. He's done well with play in most situations, but failed against higher competition. When obvious changes need to be made and the responsible person is unwilling to make them, it's time to move on.

Just give me a good DC from a conference that has offenses.. preferrably a good expierenced SEC guy, if not, a guy that's got a good record against good offenses. Banks really only had 2 other offenses to worry about in the Big10 and they consistently rolled him. UM and OSU. That game in 23 against UF was just sad on so many levels. That first half, it looked like we never played defense a day in our lives, not adjusted for more pressue at the half. This was Graham Merk's 1st season. And ND showed us how to pressure a UGA QB, so did Bama. I'm ok with Inge as long as he brings more heat than Banks. Great update Bull! GBO!

Hmmm so how was Banks prior to coming to TN. ? He was only top 3 in the Big10 2 times in his tenure there from 16-20. Best years were in 17 and 19. His last year there he was 6th. Keep in mind, there weren't and aren't too many good offenses in the Big10. Since Banks has left, overall Penn State improved or upgraded it's defense, so his replacement has been more successful. They been top 3 the last two seasons at Penn State. I do think he's adequate but his failure to bring pressure or make adjustments knocks him down a few pegs .I'm not sure if he just does not believe in blitzing, nor adjustments but every loss TN has had dating back to 2021, TN failed to bring pressure or more of it. When he has blitized 99% of the time, it's a max of 6 by way of only potentially blitzing 2 guys plus the 4 linemen. That is simply not enough at times when we needed it. He will not change this major flaw. I don't think he cares to change that. But we will never win as many games with an intention of a DC to do this. We didn't when TN was elite on defense back in the 90's. We brought way more. I think Penn State felt the same way about Banks. They lost against the better teams like OSU and UM, beat the lesser foe and this is how it's gone here, with only an elite offense like in 22 saving us vs Bama. The only game in which he ever brought more than 6 and blitzed more often was in 22 at LSU against Daniels. Daniels got yards between the 20's. nearly 400 of them but could not do anything against TN's redzone D. I'm not sure why you don't bring more pressure to new QB's like Green of AR, Beck last year or this year, Milroe in 23? The list goes on. It's baffling but has been a cancer to this team.

There is a ton of edge and DT's entering into this years draft class! There will be guys taken in the 4-5th round that would be 2nd round picks in most years! Same can be said for RB's this year! Very thin at QB ! So Im not sure how that will effect things but it will somehow! GB🍊 ! Ohio st was a fluke , promise we are not that far back from the top tier! Regarding Mayo and the Patriots, when Mayo responded by saying he sees skin color after Robert Kraft stated he doesn’t see color and hired who he believed was the best coach for the job-a man who happened to be of color-that, in my opinion, became a issue for Kraft.
