Fun fact: The Dog that Accompanied Anthony Hopkins in the movie was known as Britain's loneliest dog, Michael Bay gave her the role in the movie and she ended up getting adopted because of it.
Yeah I remember that's story when the film was coming out but I hate to be one saying this but sadly that dog passed away about a year later from the release. At least she had family at the end 😭😭
Fun Fact: when Michael Bay was creating the first transformers, he wrote Optimus Prime with Liam Neeson intend to play him, but changed when Peter Cullen came out of retirement to reprise his role as Optimus, but Michael Bay to continued to write Optimus as a Liam Neeson type character, that’s why Optimus is extreme sometimes
28:34 from "Does he have a name?" "Oh yes, he has a name" to "Can we rename our child optimus prime" "Yes" that was some real character development on Jen's part
The BEST part of this entire movie series is Jen become more and more attached to Bumblebee and Optimus, and then seeing her visceral reaction of them fighting to the death is the epitome of chef's kiss. It was as visceral as her reaction to the beginning of the first John Wick. She's the best. Thank you for always emotionally investing.
@Riley Garraway Did they explain him tho? Cuz, there's very little of it. Compare that to the Fallen, tho one of the weakest Bayverse villains, yet has tons of flashbacks dedicated to him. We learn that he's the og con, was one of the Primes, wanted to kill humans via the Star harvester, commanded the old seekers to find tomb of Primes, left them to rust and probably more. On top of that, the Fallen is a villain who ain't all that popular (he first showed up in what, mid 2000s?). Unicron? He's one of the oldest TF villains and yet, in TLK, there's no mention of him being devourer of worlds, no flashbacks, no nothin' past some throwaway line and the rising horns. The Fallen, some evil Prime who showed in early 2000s, somehow got more "respect" and more background that one of the biggest TF villains ever. That's a big fail.
@Riley Garraway Unicron's name means nothing to an average moviegoer (most of the audience) cuz there's no flashback, no buildup, no nothing in the film before that. Unlike the Fallen who got all that. Remove Unicron from the plot and nothing changes. That's how pointless the biggest TF villain is. And the Quintesson/creator thing could've been interesting but was lame, just some metal lady with tentacles, that's it. No 5 faces nor anything resembling a Quintesson, the Allspark is forgotten and the lore is still unexplained. She didn't create the TFs, cuz the knights later call her a deceiver.
One consistently brilliant thing that is undeniable of the Transformers movies is the score work by Steve Jablonsky. I’ve listened to it hundreds of times more than I’ve watched the movies.
Galvatron went to the exact place where Optimus went, and got the same mission. That’s why he has a new body is because quintessa gave it to him, and changed his name back to megatron
@@DomDaBearsFan25 doesn't make the fan interpretation correct as the movie could of given us a different explanation if it bothered to give us a explanation at all.
I love the fact that Holden is enjoying Optimus' heel turn while Jen is genuinely emotionally conflicted and seemingly heartbroken 😂😂😂 what really got me was the Palpatine reference 🤣🤣🤣
The 3 highlights of this video for me where: 12:16 Jen's face just naturally smiling by Bumblebee's dance. Holden making the Emperor's impression 29:35 Jen getting the dirty joke before Holden made any comment about it.
I remember being SO HYPED UP waiting for the release of this movie. I'm still a few months away from turning 20, and as the young man I was when this movie came out, I can OFFICIALLY SAY that this movie was my VERY FIRST LET DOWN. I remember sitting in the theatres watching this and being so disturbed by a lot of factors, mainly: - Pacing (weirdly cut editing & obviously trimmed run-time) - The CONTRADICTION to what the past 4 movies already established (showing the Transformers in ancient times while having their modern-day robot forms such as Hound, Ironhide, Hot Rod & Drift to name a few. And saying Bumblebee participated in WW2 when he FIRST arrived back in 2007, which also applies to all the other Autobots. We literally saw Ironhide, Prime, Jazz, & Ratchet arrive on Earth for the FIRST time in the 2007 film). - The complete LACK of Dinobots. We only got Grimlock & Slug in a very short amount of screen-time. - I remember leaked set photos hyping up Megatron's main team of Decepticons, then they DIED immediately. They could've been nameless lackeys and it wouldn't change a damn thing. - Barricade vanished AGAIN. - Sir Anthony Hopkins's entire character (though I enjoyed his comedic bits, especially the "SHUT UP!!"). The fact that he claims to know Bee as a child is just wack, when Sam was the FIRST human that Bee made contact with in the 2007 film. And if you consider Bumblebee's solo film as canon to the '07 film, then Charlie was Bumblebee's 1st human. Still NOT Anthony Hopkins. I remember the leaked news about how Michael Bay was FORCED to cut down the film's run time and take away a significant chunk of the film as a result, and for a long time, I defended this film due to that report. Hoping that The Last Knight was the AWESOME Infinity War movie for the Transformers franchise if it wasn't for that forced run time reduction. But after a while, rewatching the film, I just couldn't handle the inconsistencies and contradictions this movie has with the last 4. Michael Bay and the writers COMPLETELY fucked up on the story for this film. The Transformers franchise ended on Dark of The Moon for a lot of people, though I personally enjoyed Age of Extinction because at least that film stayed true to the timeline. Having the humans turn their backs on Transformers was logical and reasonable for what happened in DOTM. The Transformium bit isn't too far-fetched either. I mean, if we were able to build our own Transformers, after being invaded by an alien race, I don't see why we wouldn't do it. Sure, the effects of the floaty cube stuff were quite exaggerated, but I can leave it be. My only gripe about AOE is Bumblebee's UGLY robot mode (especially his face when the battle mask is off, coz the robot mode looks AWESOME on Stinger) and his EXTRA ULTRA UGLY 2014 Camaro alt mode. I wish he stayed as the black 70's Camaro SS for the whole film instead. Anyway, I cannot express enough how much I was LET DOWN by this film. I do not hate it, rather, I was deeply HURT by it. There's a LOT of things that were AWESOME about the film, such as: - Hot Rod, transforming into a Lamborghini Centenario. - Drift finally being Black & Red instead of Black & Blue. Though I did prefer the Bugatti since Soundwave was already a Mercedes SLS AMG in DOTM. Drift here is just a Mercedes SLS AMG GT-R. - Megatron looking SAVAGE AS FUCK. - Barricade having an AWESOME new look, along with the new Mustang. - Bumblebee's Camaro mode being REDEEMED after the ATROCIUS 2014 Camaro. - Captain Lennox, Josh Duhammel's character, along with General Morshower, is back. - UNICRON was being set-up for future films. - We got our very first live action representation of NEMESIS PRIME (granted, just Optimus, but still). - A DRAGON TRANSFORMER. Overall, I have a lot more to say, but this comment's been wayyyy too long a lot of sentences ago, so I'll just end it here.
i love this comment for some reason. i feel like people just discard these movies as shit just because (justifiably so, i must say). i like the fact that you truly care about what the writers and bay themselves set up and destroyed! i hate the inconsistencies! missed opportunities left and right, missed character development, awesome moments destroyed in seconds (megatron fighting optimus in the ship for it to end in a minute COME ON!!) and yes i agree, why did Barricade with his new awesome ass design just suddenly disappear? by the way one gripe i have about AOE is Ratchet dying. I like how it added sentiment to the story but for some reason it felt too sudden.
@Emi E For me, Ratchet's death was a symbol of the old transformers that we grew up with (kids of the 2000s specifically) ending. I think of it as the equivalent to seeing Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn and Prowl's death in the G1 film. It set up the tone AOE was going to have and was also the most engaging introduction to start of a Transformers film. The only real problem I have was we never got the chance to have more Transformers screen time. The past films were so human focused, it actually makes you question can we still call them "Transformers". The title characters have been sidelined for a large portion of the franchise. Other than Bumblebee and Optimus, only a couple of them are actually lucky enough to get more than 1 minute of screentime. Had they have more screen time, a lot of deaths would actually be more emotional. That being said, I still love the franchise. I have a lot of issues with it especially with some of the writing and pacing. But I try to see the best parts that the franchise gave us. (Except TLK. That film is the only one that have the most trouble watching the film without skipping.) The Transformers film basically told the film industry, "See Hollywood, we can create incredibly realistic and complex CGI animation that still looks incredible in live action 10+ years later." The franchise revitalize the Transformers brand worldwide and really brought out the best of Michael Bay's use of action. We can make fun of his over use of "explosions, hot girls, and sexuality", but this film's practical explosion effects still look stunning. Even if it's a bit over-exaggerated. As one content creators' editor once said, "The Transformers films are pure spectacle. Spectacle can be a cheap move. But when it's done well by talented artists who are given enough money to realize the vision, it can be intrisically beautiful. When I watch this, I am thinking about the hundreds of artists Michael Bay has hired, the number of people working on the music, it's something about the intrisic beauty on the massive scope in front of me." -Source: Mr. Sunday Movies "How I Learned To Stop Worrying & Love The Transformers - Ben From Canada"
Bumblebee literally arrived on earth way before 2007 we don’t even see him arriving on it in 2007 at all which is why he was in world war 2. Come on we even learn that characters like The Fallen Megatron and other cybertronians have been on earth long before 2007, that’s enough proof Don’t forget that Optimus declared the Dinobots are free, having them fight again when they did their part would be denying them freedom in a way even though they supposedly had it again after the events of TF4. It was no longer their battle. They were living peacefully before Lockdown captured them
Ok, I can let the Bumblebee one slide since the only "proof" that he only recently arrived on earth during the '07 films were in the movie adjacent comics and/or novels which I don't consider canon. But how can you accept characters like Ironhide being shown in a picture leading humans WAYYY before 2007, when he CLEARLY first arrived with Optimus, Ratchet, & Jazz in 2007. Not to mention he already had his GMC Topkick truck parts in that pic, when he was literally shown as a protoform in the 2007 film scanning the truck. Also, characters like Drift for example, sure we didn't see him crash land on Earth so okay we can say that he might've arrived in Japan during the Samurai period (Edo period, I think? Correct me if I'm wrong). But he fucking had his BUGATTI parts already in his pic. There's some things we can let slide with the TLK timeline, but there's CLEARLY a LOT of inconsistencies from the first 4 movies which is what I hate about TLK. How hard is it to keep up continuity?? On the Dinobots part, I can accept the "they're free and just chose not to show up" argument if they didn't appear AT ALL. I mean, Grimlock, the fiercest one and leader of the Dinobots gained freedom from Lockdown...... And CHOSE to live out the rest of his life as CADE'S DUMBASS DOG???? He's such as dumbass puppy in this film, eating the patrol car, Cade yelling at him like a Dog commanding him to "SPIT IT OUT!".... HE's A FREE WARRIOR, RIGHT?? The fuck was Bay (& the writers) thinking??
@@emie1170 Thanks, I really do LOVE the Bayverse coz it's THE Transformers for me. It's the DEFINITIVE version of the Transformers to me, alongside TF Prime. A lot of man-children cry about their design not being G1... Fuck G1, it's ugly as fuck. The Bayformers designs were AWESOME & realistic. I honestly hated the Bumblebee movie design for the Transformers coz they suffer the same problem as G1. Tho Bumblebee himself gets a pass with his VW Bug parts, and he looks realistic. It's just Optimus & the others that I find disturbing to look at. Hopefully their designs get better in Rise of the Beasts next year. Anyway, the point is, I love the Bayverse characters coz they're legit the BEST & THE MOST BAD-ASS versions we've gotten. And it pains me to see it light up in flame and just destroy itself coz of bad writing. We've seen that the ENTIRE fan-base can LOVE the Bayverse just from seeing how much praise DOTM got and to this day receives. TLK was supposed to be BETTER than DOTM. And I was so excited for UNICRON literally being the Earth. It's so sad that we'd never get to see more of it.
My goodness I haven´t seen Jen being this emotionally attached since John Wick's dog died! She loves her robot-babies perhaps even more than her fur-babies! XD This was by far one of the funniest reactions on this channel, when you compare her emotional involvement to that of Holden! 😂 REALLY looking forward to the reaction of Bumblebee; his cuteness factor is gonna go into overload with Jen!
The last knight had a writer's room full of ideas but all of them were shoved into the last knight bringing us a messy plot. But one thing that came from that room was the bumblebee spin-off and now a fresh reboot, love to see you two react to the transformers movie next year!
They really went "let's make optimus evil then not half him in for like half the movie". Seriously why was Jablonsky (and sound/VFX crew) the only one to put in effort?
@@SutoRaikuTheRealOne hell Transformers PRIME does the evil Optimus thing better, with it being a doppelgänger. I wish they had done like a several episode arc for that, cause this was just after Optimus was back from being Orion and a Deception, so it would instill a big sense of fear and distrust among Team Prime, from the humans to people closest to Optimus. BUT for what the episode was it was still pretty good. GOD Fowler is one of the best human characters EVER in Transformers. He's like a GOOD government agent which is just nice to see after so many "nyah the government is BAD" tropes in film. Sure it's not perfect, but there are good people in it too. It's important to remember that.
Said it before. Will say it again. Steve Jablonksy is an underappreciated artist. He has scored ALL of these films SPECTACULARLY. Magnificant and inspiring themes, all inique and action packed and awesome. Can't sing his praises as an artist enough.
The problem with this movie is it feels so disconnected from the previous movie for instance: - why is Cade being hunted down? - why would Galvatron revert back to Megaton and how? - is Sam a Whitwicken or did they have a picture of him to honour him? - Was Optimus being mulipulated or was he being evil out of choice? - why would you kill off your main character off screen (Sam Whitwicky)? - Why are autobots being hunted down and killed while decepticons are being imprisoned? - What happened to the human cast from TF4? - How is Starscreams head whole again after being blown up in TF3? - How is Cybertron back after collapsing in on itself at the end of TF3? - why did they add the whole WW2 subplot (other than to sell toys)? - why did Optimus snap out of his mind control after hearing Bumblebees voice that he claimed to have last heard on Cybertron despite hearing it in TF1? In my head the Bay verse ended on TF3 Edit: after some thinking me and my team of elite scientists have come to the conclusion that TF5 is shite and has awful writing. Good work team! Extra credit to some of the people that helped add extra points to the list! Let's get Holden to read this entire list of problems in the next video, I know we can do it guys!
@@Kyle_Hanson they didn't kill him off, the witwichans are a cult that know of the transformers existence on earth. Totally separate from the witwickey (idk how to spell it) family name. The reason Bee isn't with Sam anymore is because the military knew Sam had Bee, so when the autobots were being hunted, Bee had to leave Sam.
I did like that the scene Quintessa gave Optimus the red mark face, came right before the scene where Megatron first appears with the same red mark on his face to let the Audience know both Optimus and Megatron are now involuntary working for Quintessa. This was surprisingly subtle for a Michael Bay film.
I have waited this whole series to see Jen’s reaction when bumblebee speaks to Optimus it says I will lay down my life for you. I thought that was going to break her but I was let down lol. It gets me every time
Transformers 5 was originally a 3-part movie, they were 3 scripts mashed in one The scripts that were mashed up was: Transformers 5, Transformers Knights and Operation: Skyfire Transformers 5 was originaly going to continue Optimus Prime vs the creators and the majoraty of the movie was going to be in Cybertron, Transformers Knights is the fist bit of TLK and Operation Skyfire was a WWII adventure of Bumblebee and Charlie Watson (The protagonist of Bumblebee) vs the nazi that had Megatron on there power and gain tecnological advancedmets that would make them win the war.
While I admire Jen’s optimism and going into movies with an open mind, this is the only movie she should’ve went into close minded Plus, the concept of Unicron inside Earth is actually derived from the show Transformers Prime (Which was done correctly)
You’re gonna love bumblebee, hands down the best live action transformers movie we’ve had so far. There isn’t constant sunset, there ain’t constant explosions, it’s actually realistic with characters, it’s actually kinda accurate to transformers lore. It’s so good.
Unicron is a villain from the Original Animated Movie, essentially a planet eater, and planet sized Transformer, he makes Megatron into Galvatron in said movie
The idea behind Megatron never made sense to me for years. The red streak on his face means he met Quintessa at some point so it is assumed she transformed Galvatron back to Megatron
It was mentioned in a "blink and you miss it" moment in the last movie, but when they were creating Galvatron, they were using megatrons body (or just his head, cant remember) to create a replica, but unknowingly were also pulling his consiousness which is why they lost control of Galvatron for a moment in his first fight, it was megatron fighting for control.
Bumblebee’s voice always magically comes back to save the day and then goes out again the next movie 🙄 I love these movies for the action but damn the plot is annoying lol
@@bigheadrat9493 no I mean bumblebee in the transformers movies. His voice saved the day like 3 times im pretty sure in the series. it starts off not working and then it randomly comes back to save the day or have a meaningful moment, just for it to go out the next movie and have it randomly get fixed the next movie, just for it to be broken again like wtf 😂😂
Onto bumblebee!! Just remember when you guys watch it that it is a reboot, it was going to be a prequel at first but after this movie bombed at the theatres they decided to go the reboot route. Can’t wait!
@@Jim-Halp1234 business wise it kinda did bombed considering the two previous films each made more than a billion dollars in the box office while this one only made $605 million
@@mctown972 buisness wise it made money, anywhere between 75 to 100 million. Again everyone can have their own definition of a "bomb" but what you just described is a disappointment, a profitable movie isn't a bomb.
Those “Skip the next movie/episode” comments are so selfish. If you don’t like that movie/episode, then don’t watch that particular reaction. Let those who do want to watch it, watch it. End of rant.
This movie came out around the time where two main fan favorite heroes went against each other. You had Iron Man vs Cap in Civil War, Batman vs Superman in Dawn of Justice, and then Bumblebee vs Optimus Prime in The Last Knight. What a time to be a superhero fan at that period.
"I can't help but think they should have stopped." That's the way I felt walking out of the second film. This is the closest I will probably come to watching this movie. After watching this reaction, it seems like my sister's take on the film was spot on when she said it was all set up with no payoffs in the entire film.
The reason we don’t see his daughter is because he wanted her to live a normal life outside of the transformer world. Sadly that meant never potentially seeing her or talking to her again bc the government were still looking for the autobots. He couldn’t abandon them
Archaeologist here. We actually did get to do a bit of GPR at Stonehenge. Turns out, it's a giant seasonal (equinox and solstice) sundial, ceremonial burial ground, and there's a super Stonehenge buried like 1m below the henge. 90 stones with 30 intact, 4.5m each in height+
This was the only movie I did not watch in theaters. Age of extinction was when I realized I did not enjoy the live action movies anymore, but because I've started collecting transformers as an adult I decided why not, let's watch all the movies, and I had fun with all of them despite how bad the were Than came the last knight, I could not believe how a movie with this much action, could be SO BORING! Nothing felt like it had substance, even the best part of the movie, megatrons crew, died 5 minutes later.
I only watched the 2007 film and then Revenge of the Fallen in theaters. Revenge is what killed my interest in seeing any more of them in theaters. Ended up watching the other ones later on when they got released on Blu Ray and Bumblebee was the only one I truly enjoyed all the way through.
I'm super excited for this!!! I love seeing you and Jen seeing these. Jens reaction to bumblebee is just so relatable to me too, love these videos and it's always fun ❤️💙
The Last Knight had the huge potential to be the best Bayformers Movies. The concept and ideas it had was interesting and they could've done so much with the lore and I know they were going to but it's just sad that the way they executed these ideas were.... Well we all know what happened
Galvatron left Earth at the end of AoE. Shortly after that he ran into Quintessa, and she recruited him to serve her and restore Cybertron. Which explains the red mark on his face. Then she gave him a new body that was closer to his original, and gave him his memories back. Which is why he is Megatron once again.
To be perfectly honest I enjoyed the Bayformers from 1 to 3 (Dark of the Moon), but agreed with most that they should’ve stopped at 3. Age of Extinction just…happened and The Last Knight felt like a major slap to the face to the fans. Thankfully Bumblebee brought me back in
I grew up watching the transformers cartoon as a kid. For me it doesn’t matter how much of a train wreck the last couple movies are, I love them. They could make 8 more movies and I’ll watch and love every single one of them no matter how bad they are.
Holden the way Jen rolled her eyes when you did that axe joke here's me think that was comedy gold I was dying pissing myself laughing I hope I can make it on the comment of the day also love how Mark Wahlbergs character is that dad that's not a dad if you get what I mean 😂I confused myself
The spikes beginning and at the end signifies Unicron is Earth and everything that is happening on the planet is not a coincidence. They pretty much took the plot of Transformers Prime for how they dealt with Unicron. Also they did Cog dirty, he's supposed to be a Headmaster meaning he turns into a head of a bigger robot body and yet they only showed him as the human sized bit. At least the toy you got a proper version of him and what he would looked like actually combined into his full form.
It's so funny how these movies make less and less sense xD In the first movie, they learned English from "the world wide web". That kinda makes sense, they're big robots, them being able to connect with the internet and learn seems plausible. But now that Knight Transformer talks in English to that knight at the start of the movie? How'd he know English?
I would highly recommend watching the 1986 film before watching Bumblebee. Just so Jen can get more of a sense of the G1 designs and mood that’s different from the bay verse
This movie came out in 2017, the same year as Fate of the Furious. Both movies feature the leader of the team turning "evil" and fighting their team lol
This was the only Transformers movie I barely watched, I was just... done with it, and so were the audiences. As Holden said, the movie underpowered massively, and it made less the first movie. Plus it was the worst reviewed movie out of the main 5, like 15% on RT or something. At least Bumblebee and the Beast Wars themed movie is directed by great story telling directors, because I can't do another Bayformer film.
Currently have a really really bad virus and have been fighting it unsuccessfully for the past two weeks, seeing that you posted made my week thank you so much for all the hard work.
That part where Jen's eyes rolled at the axe joke and y'all casually edited the Vecna song I LAUGHED LOOL Also can't wait for you guys to do bumblebee, keep in mind it's a reboot and it's set in a diff timeline
To Answer a Few Questions: Quintessa is the Prime of Life and She claims that she Created the Autobots and Decepticons. Also, Yes that is Quintessa at The End of Movie. The "Horns" are actually Unicron, a Giant Planet Sized Transformer. Quintessa did Turn Optimus Evil by manipulating Him and using Some Magic to turn him Bad. Galvatron turned back into Megatron offscreen and was Given the same Mission to get the Talisman by Quintessa. The TRF aka the Transformers Reaction Force is basically the same as Cemetery Wind from AOE to Hunt Down Transformers, except they just Capture Them. Even after the Event of AOE, the Military and Government still Don't Trust the Transformers. And Yes that is a 3 Headed Dragon, the 12 Knights can combine into the Dragon.
Loved the music in this one too and the visuals are really stunning. Okay that's the only good things I can say about this movie. Hated how in all the marketing materials they focused on evil Optimus and in the actual movie it lasted for like 5 minutes. The female lead is basically the same as the previous ones so it really doesn't make me miss Megan Fox or the others. Also Tyrese Gibson was suppose to come back originally but didn't so that sucks.
5:15 they didn’t really classify in this film but with transformers: prime (strongly recommend watching it) there is something called Predacons. Spoiler warning. 3 2 1 Later in the series when shockwave returns he gathered cybertronian fossils of beasts that existed long ago. He is able to resurrect one of them and called it a predacon. If looks like a dragon pretty much. Later if got more intelligent fo point if transformed into a humanoid form. Predacon still kept his name and went to find others like him which he did in the movie finale of the franchise.
They're done continuing on the story of Earth actually being turned into Unicron. Instead, they are going back to make a Transformer movie about the Beast Wars back when they lived on Cybertron
The Last Knight...What's there to say? Its not terrible. Its not good. Its a missed opportunity really. The marketing for this film hyped up Optimus as the Bad Guy and in the end he's only Nemesis Prime for about 5 Minutes. Megatron gets the best redesign in the series so far and we NEVER get a proper one vs one against him and Optimus in the film which is just bloody tragic. The Music is great as always. 'Here We Go' is masterful. Steve knows his shit. Anthony Hopkins is great in this as is his robot Butler. They bring back Josh which is nice but they don't really do anything with him and I missed him and Tyrese co-starring together. I missed that familiar connection. The overall villain sucks. After Sentinel Prime and Lockdown you'd think it'd just go up with the Villains but nope. They dropped the ball hard on that one. Then there's the big revelation of Earth being Unicorn and I guess Cybertron is Primus? I guess Transformers 6 was gonna be Unicorn vs Primus? How that would have worked I don't know since wouldn't Earth be required to be destroyed in order for Unicorn to emerge and transform and wreck shit and vice versa? I guess Primus would have been like a Zord and all the surviving Transformers or Humans would have taken refuge there? Its just a weird way to end this franchise on. Bumblebee is a reboot and has no real ties to the Bay films. Its the first time he comes to Earth wheres in this film its revealed Bumblebee was around since WW2 and helped the allies. The continuity is out of wack with that revelation though I guess they could just ignore it and pretend that flashback never happened and Bumblebee would still sort of work as a prequel.
If you want to know about Quintessa I suggest looking at her inspiration: the Quintessons The Quintessons are a bizarre and ancient race, whose dark history and shadowy machinations are bound up with the history of the Transformers, with connections to both Primus and Unicron. They are known galaxy-wide as traders, entrepreneurs and businessmen, but their dealings are very rarely on the level, often laced with intrigue and betrayals. They prefer subtle manipulation, scheming, and advanced technology over brute force, but if those don't work, they can fall back on the legion of deadly Sharkticons and Allicons at their command and a fleet of battle-ready spaceships as well. However, the Quintessons themselves have zero fighting abilities and are absolute cowards if they have nothing to hide behind. For example, they are seen to be powerless against a Sharkticon revolt.
22:39 Jen speaks for a lot of people here. I'm hoping the new Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts, focuses more on the actual robots this time, especially since they're trying to take it in a more positive direction than what Michael Bay did. What I mean by that, is actually focusing on the thing the movies are named after, and not whatever dumb crap the director wants to.
You seen the set footage that got leaked for that movie? It was mostly just the trucks and cars moving around. But there was one action sequence that looks like it’ll be fun in the movie. Potential spoilers: There was a part where the Optimus Prime truck rammed the Mad-Max looking truck (yes, I know his name) and sent it tumbling through a brick wall. The Optimus truck took some damage from the hit, but they’ll probably fix it in post or something.
Not every action sequence is shot on set. Especially not when the characters are mostly to completely cgi. The odds that they just used a real shooting location with the vehicles for those few scenes/shots is very likely.
@@m0stlyGh0sty Yeah, I know. Just thought I’d mention something to hype up the movie a little. Obviously, We’re probably not going to see any of the Beasts on set, unless they have a model or something for the actors to look at. The two things that slightly worry me are Wheeljack’s vehicle mode (why a van?) and we haven’t heard anything about characters like Megatron. I am quite curious about how they’ll handle his character, Yyyyes
I'm actually okay with Wheeljack being a van. I always picture him as the jovial and lovable, yet snarky and back-talking engineer of the Autobots. If you ask me, a large Volkswagen Van suits that personality much more than a specific racecar that only one person ever drove, so it doesn't even work as a disguise.
Btw I just realized Jen didn’t see the trailers like some of us did, so no false expectations for her( heavily marketing the Dinobots and dragon storm for example[the knights that make the dragon], and also not seeing primes gonna turn being the whole selling pount( for it to only be like what? 5 minutes of the film)
Yeah I totally agree with you guys that even though all the transformers movies are kinda messy, this one I feel is legitimately a mess. Just complete garbage. This one is definitely the worst one for me and at the bottom of my list. I cannot wait for you guys to watch Bumblebee though because it's the complete opposite for me and close to the top of my list, if not the top. I feel my list would be: 1. Bumblebee 2. Dark of the Moon 3. Age of Extinction 4. Transformers 1 5. Revenge of the Fallen 6. The Last Knight
This is by far the worst of all the 5 Transformers films, I hate the plot and how the plots of the previous films didn't matter as much. Not including bumblebee the film
Can we say CONVOLUTED? This series progressively gets worse because it doesnt trust the Transformers enough to make them actual characters instead of walking action set pieces. That and the formula of "ya know that event in Earth history? Yeah the Transformers did it cuz reasons." It was quaint in the first movie, but the more they did it the more incredulous these movies became. Michael Bay & Paramount just simply do not trust the Transformers to be lead characters in these movies, and thats why they'll always feel empty. [also, evidently this movie is the product of a big writers room where they jammed 2 or 3 different movie pitches into one story. So there's that :P]
When I went to see Transformers: The Last Knight, I wanted to walk out after 15 minutes. I said only because I was seated right in the middle of the theatre and didn't want to block the view of a lot of people. By the end, I really wanted to leave. Unfortunately, I only learnafterwards that the theatre would refund the ticket if you leave within the first 30 minutes of a movie.
The Bumblebee movie was originally going to be a prequel movie but due to the less than stellar reaction of the Last Knight the movie was edited so that it takes place in a brand new universe, its a reboot with a few minor callbacks to the old Michael Bay movies such as the existence of Sector Seven and Bumblebee's face design
This movie is definitely one of the more bad transformers movies, it seems like all the stuff the transformers movies got better at this one got worse at. The people action, military, etc
The reason Megatron is not Galavatron is that I think the canonical answer is that Galvatron was somehow found by Quintessa between the events of Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. She then restored him to a proper Cybertronian body, which I guess was enough to go back to being Megatron. That’s why Megatron has a similar red mark on his face to the mind-controlled Optimus.
I feel like TLK is alright. Had some good moments but had some meh moments overall. Things got a little sloppy at the end. I was really looking forward to the Optimus and Bumblebee lol. I Cant wait to see your Bumblebee Reaction. You're gonna absolutely LOVE IT! It's a Different Director in Travis Knight who Made Kubo and the Two Strings. It's a Reboot and doesn't take place in the Bay verse. Bumblebee is the start of a reboot. And the Sequel to Bee is Transformers Rise of the Beasts coming next year June 9th 2023. Was suppose to come out this year but got delayed 😕.
Fun fact: The Dog that Accompanied Anthony Hopkins in the movie was known as Britain's loneliest dog, Michael Bay gave her the role in the movie and she ended up getting adopted because of it.
Michael based
Yeah I remember that's story when the film was coming out but I hate to be one saying this but sadly that dog passed away about a year later from the release. At least she had family at the end 😭😭
Michael Bay LOVES animals, dogs especially (he has 4 I think), for those who aren’t aware. He’s done a lot of work with Animal welfare.
@@ObsidianKnight217 He also named one of the cons nitro zeus after his dog
One of the only good things that came out of TF5
Fun Fact: when Michael Bay was creating the first transformers, he wrote Optimus Prime with Liam Neeson intend to play him, but changed when Peter Cullen came out of retirement to reprise his role as Optimus, but Michael Bay to continued to write Optimus as a Liam Neeson type character, that’s why Optimus is extreme sometimes

I've literally felt that eyeroll in a different state I haven't even seen the video.
It wasn't to tge death though
For real!! Can't wait for her reaction to Bumbleebee cause it is so heartwarming & he was voiced by Dylan O'Brian

The other clue being the same 'red streak' on Megatron's face that Optimus gets. (Jen picks up on this, to be fair).

I remember being SO HYPED UP waiting for the release of this movie. I'm still a few months away from turning 20, and as the young man I was when this movie came out, I can OFFICIALLY SAY that this movie was my VERY FIRST LET DOWN. I remember sitting in the theatres watching this and being so disturbed by a lot of factors, mainly:
- Pacing (weirdly cut editing & obviously trimmed run-time)
- The CONTRADICTION to what the past 4 movies already established (showing the Transformers in ancient times while having their modern-day robot forms such as Hound, Ironhide, Hot Rod & Drift to name a few.
There's a LOT of things that were AWESOME about the film, such as:
- Hot Rod, transforming into a Lamborghini Centenario.
When I watch this, I am thinking about the hundreds of artists Michael Bay has hired, the number of people working on the music, it's something about the intrisic beauty on the massive scope in front of me."

Bumblebee literally arrived on earth way before 2007 we don’t even see him arriving on it in 2007 at all which is why he was in world war 2. Come on we even learn that characters like The Fallen Megatron and other cybertronians have been on earth long before 2007, that’s enough proof
Don’t forget that Optimus declared the Dinobots are free, having them fight again when they did their part would be denying them freedom in a way even though they supposedly had it again after the events of TF4.

Oh Jen's gonna love Bumblebee, can't wait for your reaction on that
I have a feeling that she & Holden will love Rise of the Beasts. Optimus gets a lot of screentime in that movie, the most he's gotten out of all 7.
The problem with this movie is it feels so disconnected from the previous movie for instance:
- why is Cade being hunted down?
In my head the Bay verse ended on TF3
Edit: after some thinking me and my team of elite scientists have come to the conclusion that TF5 is shite and has awful writing. Good work team! Extra credit to some of the people that helped add extra points to the list! Let's get Holden to read this entire list of problems in the next video, I know we can do it guys!

I did like that the scene Quintessa gave Optimus the red mark face, came right before the scene where Megatron first appears with the same red mark on his face to let the Audience know both Optimus and Megatron are now involuntary working for Quintessa. Transformers 5 was originally a 3-part movie, they were 3 scripts mashed in one
The scripts that were mashed up was: Transformers 5, Transformers Knights and Operation: Skyfire
Transformers 5 was originaly going to continue Optimus Prime vs the creators and the majoraty of the movie was going to be in Cybertron, Transformers Knights is the fist bit of TLK and Operation Skyfire was a WWII adventure of Bumblebee and Charlie Watson (The protagonist of Bumblebee) vs the nazi that had Megatron on there power and gain tecnological advancedmets that would make them win the war.

Except it’s just a cheesy iron giant rip off
Unicron is a villain from the Original Animated Movie, essentially a planet eater, and planet sized Transformer, he makes Megatron into Galvatron in said movie
También se robaron la idea de que el sea la tierra de Transformers prime
The idea behind Megatron never made sense to me for years. The red streak on his face means he met Quintessa at some point so it is assumed she transformed Galvatron back to Megatron
It was mentioned in a "blink and you miss it" moment in the last movie, but when they were creating Galvatron, they were using megatrons body (or just his head, cant remember) to create a replica, but unknowingly were also pulling his consiousness which is why they lost control of Galvatron for a moment in his first fight, it was megatron fighting for control.

Jen rolling her eyes at every pun holden made i swear it heard it.
Best explanation for Megatron I’ve been able to think of was that he reverted to Megatron from Galvatron when he met Quintessa between movies.
That's awesome!
This was the only movie I did not watch in theaters. Age of extinction was when I realized I did not enjoy the live action movies anymore, but because I've started collecting transformers as an adult I decided why not, let's watch all the movies, and I had fun with all of them despite how bad the were

I only watched the 2007 film and this one in theaters
I only watched the 2007 film and then Revenge of the Fallen in theaters. Revenge is what killed my interest in seeing any more of them in theaters. Ended up watching the other ones later on when they got released on Blu Ray and Bumblebee was the only one I truly enjoyed all the way through.

The Last Knight had the huge potential to be the best Bayformers Movies. The concept and ideas it had was interesting and they could've done so much with the lore and I know they were going to but it's just sad that the way they executed these ideas were.... Well we all know what happened
I live for the fact that Holden points out every time it's either sunrise or sunset! >_< Kills me every time.

Megatron's Decepticon crew were Megatron's fraternity brothers. He had a wild College experience on Cybertron.
Bumblebee's real voice:
27:25 Nice Moment
33:12 Catchphrase
33:50 Goodbye

I was searching this last night,im so glad u posted it right away
Ever since I saw they were going commit to this series, I've been waiting for when they got to this one.
It was probably about 2 million per minute of screen time . The budget on this was huge and it failed to break even at the box office!
I would highly recommend watching the 1986 film before watching Bumblebee. Just so Jen can get more of a sense of the G1 designs and mood that’s different from the bay verse
That's actually a good idea
Jen wasn't a fan of the 1986 movie, mainly because Optimus gets killed off.
Nah
Currently have a really really bad virus and have been fighting it unsuccessfully for the past two weeks, seeing that you posted made my week thank you so much for all the hard work.
That part where Jen's eyes rolled at the axe joke and y'all casually edited the Vecna song I LAUGHED LOOL
Also can't wait for you guys to do bumblebee, keep in mind it's a reboot and it's set in a diff timeline
Great reaction guys. Jens reaction to all the craziness was my exact feeling when I watched this in theaters. Just a vet puzzling movie.
5:15 they didn’t really classify in this film but with transformers: prime (strongly recommend watching it) there is something called Predacons.
Spoiler warning.

Later in the series when shockwave returns he gathered cybertronian fossils of beasts that existed long ago.
This movie was so off the rails that it felt like fan fiction lol
Even fan fictions are better than this lol
The sonic edit was so small but so genius I love it XD
Can’t wait for Jen to watch the bumblebee movie !! 🙌🏼🔥🙌🏼🔥
31:01 okay, that sonic running the loop gave me a nice chuckle.
Dude, the movie is indeed terrible.
If you want to know about Quintessa I suggest looking at her inspiration: the Quintessons
The Quintessons are a bizarre and ancient race, whose dark history and shadowy machinations are bound up with the history of the Transformers, with connections to both Primus and Unicron.

Jen speaks for a lot of people here.
Potential spoilers:
There was a part where the Optimus Prime truck rammed the Mad-Max looking truck (yes, I know his name) and sent it tumbling through a brick wall.
If you ask me, a large Volkswagen Van suits that personality much more than a specific racecar that only one person ever drove, so it doesn't even work as a disguise.
i wish bumblebee's voice sounded the same as the first transformers when he asked to stay with same loved how deep it sounded
This one is pure ok like it's not good or bad I think it's better than 2 but that's about it in my opinion

There's gonna be a new TRANSFORMERS movie coming up next year and the year after that. It serves as a follow up for the Bumblebee movie
I feel my list would be:
1. Bumblebee
2. Dark of the Moon
3. Age of Extinction
4. Transformers 1
5. Revenge of the Fallen
6. The Last Knight
When Optimus was like "I will lead you into her chamber"... I was waiting for Jen to say, "Optimus Holden Prime"... 🤣🤣🤣
Thank goodness it’s over! LOL! Hooray for Bumblebee!! Have you considered doing the 80’s animated movie?? It would be a lot of fun!!
I wonder if im the only one that laughed as hard as I did at the part when Jen was sitting there by herself and heard "Nemesis Prime"
I died 😂😂
What an awful paring Cade and Vivian were, zero chemistry whatsoever
