Oh boy oh boy! This was one hell of a test to say the least. So, I decided to drive to Niles as Nestor wouldn't stop begging me to do it, so I figured why not as it's been a while since I have done a Thunderbolt. Gosh was I not prepared for what would happen next! They tested 15 minutes late, Nestor called dispatch twice, and all it did then was just a stupid short blast. I thought it was going to do attack at first but no. So, then we decided to call it a day, and we put our equipment into my car and just messed around in the playground. Then at around 10:56 AM, Nestor says, "Imagine it just moves" and LITERALLY, a SECOND after he says that the bolt roars to life for the second time and does a 1 minute alert. Funniest test I have ever been to ngl. There was also a whole bunch of kids next to us in the playground and I thought that for sure our videos would get ruined by them bc they were curious about what are we up to lol. After the second activation btw, Nestor threw a tennis ball into the horn so well...now this thing has become Wapakoneta 2.0 lmfao. This bolt was pretty damn loud, just as loud as the first one I ever filmed, and it really shook everything in my body when it wound down. Made me cover my ears too, but still wasn't as loud as the PN-20 I filmed last month. Anyway, hope you enjoy my first ever video that isn't edited on Filmora, and this one hell of a fiasco! It's safe to say, I'm prb never doing Niles again...stay outta Niles, doesn't matter the state ;)

@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL that reminds me of when i tried recording a Lemont/Lombard (one of the Illinois L's) T135 AC. Just a week before i had taken pics of the siren, then test day there was a fresh 130 with the dirt mound still there. Little kid me was so pissed and i said "Ok here's a test of the stupid 2001" Immediately after i said that, it went off. I'm still trying to find my video of it 😭. I have my mom's recording (she was there too) but her recording is ass and missed the windup and was handheld.

@@nascarsimracing1 funny enough something similar happened to me, I was at a growl test in 2022 and my camera wasn't focusing and I said "focus, jesus christ" and then it went off 😭

Long story short because I'll upload in the next hour or so and go more in depth: went to a 2001 known to have a wack ass attack, it did one wave of attack, and then went right back to alert and called it quits 2 minutes early.
@@vcvcf1896 Oh wow lol in my case, it’s not the siren, bc I can guarantee you that the whole system did that bc judging by the dispatcher’s response to Nestor’s call, the dispatchers are drunk or something bc they can’t even remember if they tested or not lmfao
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL ahhh we love that late dispatch shit. The worst I've experienced it was Schaumburg going off 10:37, and from what my mom said one time Naperville going off at 10:45. And then you have Bloomington-Normal not testing at all in May.
And then you have the one town that's worse than Niles, Lombard, & Winthrop Harbor combined: Cairo (most likely) not testing ever.
