Yes it’s a tl3 or sl3 it has built in recoil lug. They build there switch on origin. I jumped the gun on that one sorry Ray. I looked closer at it on proofs web page.

Don't let the haters get to you. I can't afford ammo right now let alone a rifle like this one but that is MY problem not your problem. You make the videos you want to make. We'll be fine. 🙂🙂🙂

Bought my proof barrel, origin action and Krg stock with a drop in tunable trigger for about 3k and had a friend put it together works for a gun shop. Same setup but in 308 1/2 the price great performance. For those who want that but can’t afford that price tag. It’s possible to do it yourself for less. Or have it built by a pro for less.
I enjoy these demo's because it lets me baseline my gear and shooting vs the high end gear and shooters. I have a Savage 12FV in 6.5 that shot a 5 round .39MOA group first range trip right out of the box (rounds 5-9). Another 12FV in .223 shot a 5 shot .29 MOA group of 69 grain SMK's and H335 also right out of the box. Both were ranged at 102.1 yards. I have a Bergara B14 HMR(my 'precision' rifle) in 6.5 that shoots the same. I'm not bragging, just saying precision doesn't have to be expensive. That said, my rifles are in no way a match for the Proof and would be very poor choices for any competition shoots (except maybe the Bergara) which is cool because I don't shoot matches anyway.
I also don’t know why he shot with a suppressor unless he just wants to show how much more money that was spent. When you shoot for accuracy you never run through a tube.
Ive got a Savage Axis I in 6.5Creedmmor and plan to upgrade it further then it is already. So far i have only put in a Armament Training Products Magazine Adapter that allows me to use any 10rd Savage Brand magazine in my Savage factory stock. But will become obsolete once i upgrade the chassis "if" i do so.I am a huge fan of the Monte Carlo rifle stock.
I helped a friend put together a 6 CM AR platform rifle with a stainless Proof Research barrel. The rifle is incredible. It put 4 bullets on top of each other with one a bit off (my fault) during barrel break in on two different brands of ammunition. Shots 27-31 were close enough that a penny ran through the center of all 5 shots or completely covered them. Proof makes some great stuff. I forgot to mention it was 105 F out the day we were breaking in the barrel.
I have a Bighorn Origin action with a Keystone Accuracy barrel (Green Mountain blank) in a KRG Bravo stock that's giving me sub moa with factory loads and just about half moa with hand loads. I'm a big fan of the Bighorn actions, now known as Zermatt Arms, Inc.
Funny you mentioned the RPR. I've got an RPR in .308 with a Proof Research barrel and it also get's 1/2" MOA or slightly better like you shot. I never even put a single round down range with the OEM RPR barrel.
Lol I'm in love 😍 but honestly the best rifle I've shot for the price is the bushmaster varmint rifle I can hit golf balls at 200 yards and hit the center of a dog tag at 225 yards. And that was with a Tasco Varmint Riflescope. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get the best results.
Always impressive. In some ways I guess you can "buy accuracy " To expect sub moa from a 1000 dollar gun is fair. To pay 8 times that, I would like well under half moa. If that's not quite possible then I'm not paying 8000 dollars.
Accuracy (though technically precision) is not the only thing you buy. You buy lightweight materials with good heat transfer to increase the life of the barrel as well as ergonomic design. I wouldn't/couldn't spend 8k on it all but when if you're someone who needs a rifle tailored to their unique situation then 8k becomes a bit more reasonable.
You can slap a tl3 with a proof barrel for $2300 yourself and buy a manners stock for another $1,500 and a triggertech diamond trigger for another $250 and for $4k have a very nice gun. Proof rifle is way overpriced and gets you little to nothing over what you could put together yourself. For the $8k you spent on this rifle I could have used $3.5k for another optic and spur mount and maybe a little more money for other odd and in things. I save $3k at least and that’s more ammo to buy and practice with or more reloading components.
love the build. could you tell me what exact components you used for the Arca rail setup? I want to do the same thing to my Proof MTR .300 PRC. thank you 🙌🏼🙏🏼
That’s a nice rifle and great shooting. The stock appears to be a AG Composite carbon fiber stock Gladius version. I have a couple of rifles built on these stocks they are very rigid and light wt. with multiple options /configurations and colors etc. Very nice but not cheap.

Hello Andrew. Thanks for watching the channel. Yes, I did have to modify the screw and had the same concerns about losing accuracy. Fortunately, I didn’t have any issues but I did have to get a little creative with the screw. If I remember correctly I also made a little spacer for a small gap that I had under the 419 rail. I bought a complete Anderson RF85 heavy barrel 556 that shoots just as well at 100, and it cost less than a grand. I also have a Proof barrel on my 308 that cost me almost as much as the entire Anderson rifle, and although I am still breaking it in, so far not that impressed. The Anderson is more accurate so far. Hope I didn't pay for a bad barrel.
I love proof barrels but my last two have had a burr in the chamber and scratched the bullet. I had to get rid of the burr and polish the chamber. On barrels that expensive you shouldn’t have to do that!
Ray - we are scoping out Asheville, NC for a move from Calif., as we yearn to breathe free. Do you know what the distance range situation is in the vicinity. We have friends there, but none that have guns or shoot. (Heathens, I know.) Are you guys nearby? I would be happy with your ranges. Don't pay attention to the naysayers. You want to shoot 3 rd groups, then you shoot 3 rd groups.
Hey Sigboy, I am just a little east of Asheville. Beautiful place but I would stay on the outskirts. Old Fort with the 700 yard range is about 20 mins away. You will like it here much better than Cali for sure.
@@XRING Ray, that I will like it better there than here is an absolute. We wanted to move some years ago, but the Big C came a callin, and shot our plans in the butt. I have no interest in being a city dweller. The city is there when it is needed. Our friends live in Arden. I'm looking for something with a little altitude and some land so I can step out the front door for some basic shooting, maybe a little setup like Hickok45 has. I've scoped out Old Fort, so have my parameters. Thanks for the info and the encouragement.
@@IY6C Rick, I didn't know you were a former California boy. Good on you for getting out. As one Rick to another, thanks for the trailblazing. I'm going to follow your lead. When I get there you will have to teach me the ins and outs of sweet tea!
I agree. The DD5 Pro is a great rifle and value for the money. I also like the quick change barrel system on the DD. So much so, I did buy the DD. Thanks for watching.
Toys for the big boys. Unless I'm crowned a king or win the lottery this is just fun to watch cause I'm about to retire and certainly won't be generating this kind of cash. Nice job and sure with hand loads you'd expect same hole for this money but again there is that pesky human thing.
These are definitely some slick looking rifles, but I honestly don’t understand why these rifles are so expensive. Action: 1200 Stock: 1000 Barrel: 850 Trigger: 250 Gunsmithing: 500 Break in: 200 Cerakote: 400 Total= 4,400 Where are they adding in so much cost??
Pastor Glock I understand that, but compared to Gunwerks when there scope turret is dialed in to your rifle for the yardage and they also give you a nice range finder and custom ammo. For almost the same cost I just don’t think you getting that much for a proof rifle.
I hate to hear people bitch about other people having nice things! Get a better job! Do something, don’t knock somebody else’s shit I am by no means rich myself, I work for a living. But I’m not gonna complain I enjoy seeing it. I have some nice things, not this expensive but I have worked for what I have and I appreciate it
Ive been shooting for a long fucking time. My grandfather started me shooting when I was about 6 or 7 on a little pump action 22 and I fell down the rabbit hole since. These days like most sports, shooting has become saturated with these hyped up overly expensive guns that are priced far beyond diminishing returns. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger American. Oryx Chassis and a Vortex Viper HST and the damn thing consistently shoots 5/8 groups. No exaggeration. My Tikka T3x with KRG bravo chassis does 3/4 MOA all day long. So if I can get those results out of these rifles. Why the hell would I spend 8500 bucks, other than vanity? Its just ridiculous. My grandfather always said "only the works of a foolish man to spend 100 dollars on a hammer to build a shed, while a skilled and knowledgeable man builds houses with a 20 dollar hammer and sleeps easy with more money in his pocket". A very wise man he was. This is a good video, and Im sure its a damn nice rifle. Shit for 8500 bucks it better be, but I also cant help but to feel like this thing should find the target for me and squeeze the trigger itself for that price. Im just not sold.
I don’t know if you have ever answered this question. But what do you do for a living? You have some really nice toys/ tools. I recently saw your trunk monkey video and since then it’s got me wondering cus I’m sure that was a 12-15k rig. Cus all I can say is I’m clearly in the wrong profession. Thanks anyway even if you don’t answer I really enjoy your videos.

I also have a Proof barrel on my 308 that cost me almost as much as the entire Anderson rifle, and although I am still breaking it in, so far not that impressed. The Anderson is more accurate so far. Hope I didn't pay for a bad barrel.
Awesome! Thanks for posting.
That's half the weight of my Omen Watchmen! I wonder if my recoil is less
Have you shot a savage 110 ultralite? A bit budget compared to what you shoot. But curious about their proof research barrel in a hunting rifle
$14,000 package . whoa nice. like to own one some day! What power do you have the scope set at?
That's a nice looking rifle 👌👌 alot of money tho
Looks like sweet shooter
Between the donuts in the pudding you two are living the life.
Thanks Insight. Just having fun.
Lord have mercy… what can I sell..?. Hmmm..damn you ray
I love proof barrels but my last two have had a burr in the chamber and scratched the bullet. I had to get rid of the burr and polish the chamber. On barrels that expensive you shouldn’t have to do that!
I agree completely! I would have been very upset about that.
I moved from that pit of taxes almost six years ago
@@rdm1000 lol sounds good
Rick stay out of Ray's puddin!!!
Eew
@@45auto yeah eew
Looks pretty good to me...
That’s a sweet ass hunting riffle
What state do you live in? Beautiful gun!
After watching this and your DD5 pro video, the DD5 is hands down a better buy as it shoots the same AND saves me 6k 😆
Sweet
How nice of you Ray to buy Mini X a new rifle.
LOL!!😂. No.
Nice video man! What app are you using on your phone to measure the group size?
Thanks Abe and thanks for watching. There is a free app called Sub Moa, the other is called Ballistic-X. Ballistic -X has to be bought.
@@XRING Thanks man, I appreciate it a lot
Another great video...
These are definitely some slick looking rifles, but I honestly don’t understand why these rifles are so expensive.
Action: 1200
Stock: 1000
Barrel: 850
Trigger: 250
Gunsmithing: 500
Break in: 200
Cerakote: 400
Total= 4,400
Where are they adding in so much cost??
Pastor Glock I understand that, but compared to Gunwerks when there scope turret is dialed in to your rifle for the yardage and they also give you a nice range finder and custom ammo. For almost the same cost I just don’t think you getting that much for a proof rifle.
What do you do for a living? You’re very well off.
Damn, I thought you were going to shoot the pudding! Nice rifle too I guess ;)
Very nice! I Like it!
Thanks Kevin.
I hate to hear people bitch about other people having nice things! Get a better job! Do something, don’t knock somebody else’s shit
I am by no means rich myself, I work for a living.
Very wise words indeed. However, it’s no different than a simple car compared to a luxury car. Point A to B they do the same thing. Just a review.
Hey can you go over the install for the arca rail?
X, please tell us
What is the app used to get group MOA spread?
That’s a sexy rifle!!!!! I would have to sell a kidney and first born for it though lol.
Is your accuracy International still your most accurate rifle?
Very Nice !👍
Lol
Nice rifle WELL beyond my pay grade
X what app are you using to measure groups?
Nice rifle setup. Hope you enjoyed your pudding. Thanks Ray
Bad ass rifle!
Are you using range buddy to measure groups
Effective
What app are you using to measure the groups ?
Can I buy just the stock from proof
Apakah proof elevation juga bagus akurasinya ?
I don’t know if you have ever answered this question. But what do you do for a living? You have some really nice toys/ tools. I recently saw your trunk monkey video and since then it’s got me wondering cus I’m sure that was a 12-15k rig. Cus all I can say is I’m clearly in the wrong profession. Thanks anyway even if you don’t answer I really enjoy your videos.
X what is the phone app your using to measure the bullet spacing????
SubMOA or Ballistic-X both work well. I think Ballistic X must be purchased
@@XRING ty
Well worth the money it seems.
I imagine handloads would be quarter to a third of an inch with that megabuck setup.
Looks good, and shoots good too. 😁
What about the cold bore shot?
Any idea who makes the chassis?
where did you get your rifle?
Nice gun
Does anyone know how much I can get for my firstborn? Ok, plus my wife too?
If we could all only afford the guns you review....
