She is a wonderful person, but I vehemently disagree with her views. Look at the numbers. People were afraid to leave their houses after SB1070 and now to say they play no role in immigration is a bit disingenuous. The problem is that people are not going to quickly forget the policies of Arpaio, and that damage is real. As a community we can start to heal but not until we get the police, those that are supposed to defend us, from disproportionately using lethal force against Black and Latino Americans. The bias particularly at that extreme level speaks volumes about the core operating principles of Arizona law enforcement and how it must change.
