- The inside of the X7 again betrays that this is not a ‘sport utility vehicle’ in any way shape or form, but is rather a luxury all-terrain machine that embodies BMW luxury tenets with ease. You have alot of switchgear from other BMW models like the 7- and 8-Series, housed on a dashboard that looks like a bloated X5.
The BMW 5-Series has always been seen as the quintessential ‘businessman’s express,’ the penultimate car for those who love driving to move themselves from one point to another in poise and form, soaking up every corner along the way. But over the years, BMW’s mid-size executive saloon has gotten larger and lardier, diluting the essence that made the 5er so great.
But BMW says that with this G30, especially the LCI model, it’s marking a return to form. It’s as dynamic, poised and powerful as ever, and packing the kind of refinement and form that you’d expect from a rather expensive luxury saloon. Will it be able to hold its own against the recently-refreshed Mercedes-Benz E-Class, as well as left-field alternatives like the Audi A6, Lexus ES, and the Jaguar XF?

Yes from all the reviews on 5 series, think you are the only one highlighted the lack of lumbar support in 5 series compared to it closest rival. On top of that there’s no memory seat for passenger n only contain 2 memory setting. The front brake, would be nice if they give cross drill like merc.
This could be perhaps due to the assumption that most, if not all buyers, are aware of BMW's attitude regarding lumbar support in their cars.
As for the brakes, though cross-drilled discs would be nice (to look at and in terms of stopping power), we can assure you that the anchors on the 530i are plenty to bring this behemoth to rest.

Hi Aiman, Great review. I am in a pickle right now deciding between 530e and 530i. For the fuel tank capacity of 530e what’s the expected range for that as its same engine as 530i but making lower HP. Do you have the figures for that as well. 🙏🏼

I don't understand why Mercedes is struggling with fuel efficiency although their cars are marginally lighter than BMW and Audi. Even C Class 9L/100km is easily achieveable but BMW even 5 series is frugal. Impressive
We're also unsure. But even the A250 will struggle to do better than 9L/100km.
@@MalaysianMotoring Trust me Mercedes really suffers in city driving and jam. Have driven one before. Highway even 120, 130 if remain consistent it can be pretty fuel efficient. But in town drive or jam or sudden acceleration, parah minyak. The older BMWs like Vanos engine are like that. I'm surprised that new B48 engine is so efficient. Mercedes Benz should look into it. Even VW Arteon pre Facelift weighing over 1.6 tonne with the efficiency engine drinks very less petrol. Amongst the Germans, Mercedes is the most thirsty.
