@@retroboy-fh1jiI especially like the music from the second act of Starry Night Zone. It’s catchy to the point that it gets stuck in my head for hours on end!
This along with Sonic 1 Nineko Edition and Sonic 1 Extended Edition, was the reason why I play Sonic rom hacks today. The time I discovered theme games back in 2008-09 was what changed my experience with PC gaming for the better. Never went back to Flash games since.
That's right. I can't see Stealth (Simon Thomley) ever putting in the time to finish this, despite him saying every 5 years that he's gonna polish up 4.0. The guy runs his own official development team Headcannon and makes official games for official publishers and companies for money. I highly doubt he's going to develop a fan game for nothing on his time off. It's just NOT on the cards.
Unless a disassembly/source code/ et cetera is made of 3.5, and someone chooses to try to finish it themselves, don't expect it to continue. If I had more skills, & the creators permitted it, I would LOVE to finish it, and add Mode 0 so you can put a CD in the SEGA CD to play music from (and thus eliminate the nees for the game to be on the SEGA CD itself).
I'd prolly have the character abilities be rebalanced to go more towards what the characters are known for today, or where fans have unamimously agreed are bad ideas (Sonic's homing attack gone), him being the shield user, Mighty playing how he does in Mania and having wall kicks, Shadow possibly being switched for Metal & playing like he does in Metal Sonic Hyperdrive, like the ground-bases V-Max, along with his other moves from Metal Sonic Rebooted).
One of the best Sonic hack games of all time, if not the number one, this had lots of work behind by the time they created it. Sad they stop working on it.
@@SonitlesTH All I know is that Stealth says that the more supporters on his Patreon he gets, the higher of a priority it will be to work on Megamix. He also has a few updates on his Tumblr page as well as a full livestream on his channel going over what's been done from 2011-2018.
I think this hack provided the most fun for me out of anything in the fan game/hacking scene, due in most part to the combination of really fun layouts and incredibly tight controls. (Light Speed Dash and Homing Attack in particular are really satisfying to use.) I think Sonic and Shadow are the more instantly gratifying characters to play as, but I think Mighty was the most satisfying to play as once I collected all the emeralds. Lastly, the expansive list of music, ported over from across the Genesis' library, complemented everything so well and perfectly set the mood. It made every stage just that much more engaging and exciting to play.

No because "b" is for "beta": according to Team Megamix that means the version is close to the final product and is playable from start to finish but has minor and major bugs, and "a" is for alpha, it is an unfinished version of the game and uncompletable.
@@Oysterblade84 Woah. That’s awesome. It’s very crazy when discoveries come like this. This build of the hack is almost the same as 4.0 with less eye-soring bugs and some boss were i guess in the process of revamps
I had discovered Sonic hack games by playing Sonic Megamix in its Genesis version that I have in cartridge to play on the console. A good game that is fun to play.
The only major difference I see with this version is that there's finisher text when defeating a boss. I think it was a good idea to remove it in later revisions, cuz it kinda slows down the pace of the game.
@Jucei That's right. The best we can hope for is if Stealth hands over the source code to somebody else to finish it up. It might be our only saving grace, otherwise the game will remain in The Twilight Zone forever.
3.5 came in between 3.0. And v4. the hack is corrupted if you try to emulate it on mobile. Anyway in the hack, you can see transitions that eventually make it's way to v4 on the mega CD. Also 3.0's absolutely terrible level design is somewhat better here. In 3.5, not as many trolly pits, trolly enemies, and there's less rings which I kinda feel like a good thing. Sunset hill is now sunny shores, the boss time text is added, dust effect from sonic 2 when coming to a stop at high speed has been added, loops are in city outskirts now, and shadows sprites are different. Those are the changed I noticed
Yeah, very suspicious that Razor Zenon put this out not long after I put a video out about it. I was just happy to spread the word and now that these guys got a hold of it, it will be wide spread. Expect AmyRose Playthroughs to do a run on this version too, maybe even Jaypin88.
@@Oysterblade84 Might be a coincidence, as Razor already had this ROM on his hard drive before making this video, as stated in the SSRG forums. He seemed initially confused by the contents of this ROM.

For anyone wondering, this version released between v3.0 and v4. Actually this version was ground for the changes we see in v4.
