While I had fun there were many things left to be desired which I hope will be rectified in novel four when it's available for me. The main character is constantly complaining about cliche tropes while being an oblivious moron who commits those same cliche tropes (sometimes multiple times in a row) himself. But we love him anyway. His inner monologue is such a mood, in every wacky situation he's in, and the moment everything finally clicks and he essentially goes, "Oh, shit. Being gay was OPTION?!?!" is everything! 🤣

And then Shen Jiu is the original name of his host before becoming a Peak Lord, so sometimes people refer to them by their original names when they want to make a distinction between the two.
