TRAVEL DAY Lanzarote, trying all the Jet2 hot meals, an Alfa Romeo and all inclusive hotels!

- Hello everyone and welcome back.
In today's video it's travel day!
I start today's journey at Manchester Airport where it's -2 at Terminal 2. I fly Jet2 down to Lanzarote, detailing the airport experience as we go.
Once onboard the Jet2 Airbus A321 (should have been a Boeing 757!), I complete the Jet2 meal collection by trying out the Penne Bolognese. Will it be my favourite Jet2 hot meal of them all? You'll have to see!
Then on the ground I head over to Cicar to pick up my Alfa Romeo Stelvio hire car before heading up to Playa Blanca where I check in to the Sandos Papagayo hotel - again, showing you around my luxury suite!
So, sit back, pop the kettle on, and enjoy travel day to the Canary Islands.

Always fancied that hotel , just got back from 10 nights in the baobab suites and they were absolutely fantastic.
I’d certainly recommend it Neil, but it’s nowhere near as plush as Baobab (which is very nice as you say!)
BA lounge at Heathrow are a free for all apart from B gates. I generally fly mid and long haul so it is a bonus.
I’m doing a lounge crawl at T3 in a few weeks - starting at the Amex lounge - it’s what I love about T3!
Teeling whiskey is good stuff. Had a great tour of the distillery a week or two before the pandemic.

I can confirm that Teeling is a fine whisky and I reckon it would take the edge off the Manchester airport experience. Being told where you can sit in a lounge after paying £38.99 is ridiculous. Great vid as always!

My wife, daughter and I will be traveling to the Canary Islands for the first time in June for our 25th Anniversary and my daughter's high school graduation.
I hope you love it as much as I do John. Congrats on the anniversary too! Just out of curiosity, what’s your flight route to get there? Only reason for asking is that there is now a direct flight to the Canaries from the US
@@MomentsInTheSky We are taking the long way. Flying into London via Amsterdam on KLM then via Easyjet to the islands. Returning via British Airways to London then via Virgin Atlantic and Delta home. The reason for the odd routing is so we can spend a couple of days in London which we have never been to either.

I have flown from t2 many times over the years, and i couldnt agree more about the rudeness of the security staff, almost got my belongings lost in august because of them, the only place which where the staff arent rude is in the aspire lounge.
That’s exactly what happened to me. I had literally thousands of pounds of camera gear with me and he wanted me to leave them in a corner while he went through my case. That would have been enough but he was so rude about it.
Very enjoyable video Neil , I’m using priority pass for the first time this Saturday on way to Poland . I hope it works but if not I’ll just purchase something. Lot of information here and very helpful . No excuse for rudeness as this is the start for a lot of peoples well earned break and first impressions mean everything cheers
Hello Kieron - depending on where you use PP you can sometimes pay a fiver to guarantee access - I think it’s available at Gatwick and Birmingham (possibly).

Had a fortnight in Playa Blanca in the summer at the Holiday Village. Highlight was the climb to the top of the nearby extinct volcano Montana Roja (Red Mountain), with it's spectacular crater and great views across to Fuerteventura. Well worth the effort.

The rudeness and pettiness of the security staff at Manchester airport seems to be a recurring theme in air travel videos nowadays.
It’s the oddest security experience I ever have, all rather strange!

We came back from the Sandos Papagayo (the illegal hotel - have a look on Google) on Sunday having previously stayed there in 2021. Had a lovely stay and our room was in a very similar location to yours. Although we didn't opt for Royal Elite, we did try the a la carte restaurant which can be booked via the Sandos app (which is actually a web page). I'd strongly recommend trying it for at least one night. They have a choice of Mexican or Asian cuisine.
I flew with TUI on the 767. Normally I'd go for Jet2 for the 757 but noticed they'd swapped the flight to an A321. That and the fact TUI was considerably cheaper! We paid the price with near 3 hour delays each way thanks to Swissport and even longer to wait for our cases on arrival back at Manchester.

Apart from the mild questioning at TLV, you can take as much liquid as you want. I don't understand why we have liquid restrictions. Although I have an interesting story about the reason the liquid bans came in.
I had that in Dubai - people taking containers of water through and nobody batted an eyelid 💁♂️
