The movie was ahead of its time
Simon, totally agree! I believe it is THE best work of Kjo till date, had a surprisingly progressive narrative & d fact that it was heavily panned by d audience, proved, v only pretend 2 b modern, v r still a regressive bunch, clutching on to our beloved misogyny, stereotypes & prejudices. I thoroughly enjoyed it though!

I love the fact that this film is not dubbed, but recorded real-time. It means the actors can put real emotion into their scenes instead of sitting in a studio & trying to recreate dialogue (which never sounds natural).

Shahrukh has an explosive chemistry with kajol. But his chemistry with both, rani & juhi is underrated. He has done some of his finest work with these actors... Wish audience extended d same acceptance to actresses in their 50's as they do to actors...
@@1peeptom both pairs of him with rani and juhi aren't underrated. it was popular at that time when they did films it just that srk kajol pair is the most overrated for some repetitive comedy romance drama with more repeat value and personally i never preferred srk kajol pair neither srk rani i don't find the chemistry anywhere it looks like forcefully added. I prefer srk with Aishwarya and srk with juhi instead. srk aish are one of the actual underrated yet one of thr best pairs royal couple and actors who live their character instead of playing.
This entire conversation was so amazingly well written. Deep layered dialogues, lil' comical but will give u a glimpse what this movie has to offer.

I hated Shahrukh Khan's hair in this film 😝😝😝😝. Why was his hair long in this film? His hair was much shorter in Kal Ho Naa Ho and Main Hoon Na.
I LOVE this film. It did much better in the UK & Europe than India. Well done Karan. Great story, great writing. The way it tackled forbidden love was spot-on. Love it. And the songs of course.
Yes it was a blockbuster outside India because foreigners are much more open minded people than Indians indian people only wants to see white characters they cannot accept a grey character

The songs and background score of this movie are amazing. Dialogues were written beautifully. It was an underrated movie. I like this movie alot. It explores a different side from usual. And is just like life. You don't know if you're decision at the time will render right or wrong in future (Rani's decision of marrying Abhishek). But you still make them in the hope for the best, sometimes they disappoint, sometimes they're the best that you've made. This movie takes this "wrong decision" approach and the it was excellently directed and acted. Don't know why this movie gets alot of hate.
People prefer smooth characters and simple love stories. This one is a real one, and truth hurts and disturbs. It is very beautifully written and filmed. My favourite SRK’s movie. He and Rani are great. I saw it hundred times I think.
