Stay strong and keep holding on to hope and happiness. You've got one hell of a fight right now but you're also one hell of a person and I believe in you surviving.
Flyers/Kings fan here, Christopher, and I can't stand the Rangers either but I'm totally with you in that I truly do believe Lundqvist is a true class act, no question about it and things like this clearly prove it. He didn't HAVE to do it, he did it because he wanted to do it and while I can't stand the Rangers, I have immense respect for Hank and would love nothing more than to see the Blueshirts win the Cup at least once for Hank because a true class act like him deserves to have his hands hold Lord Stanley just once in his career! I just wish I had Hank's fashion sense though! He totally looks awesome, no matter what! Stay classy, Hank! :-) My father's a lifelong Ranger fan too and he's in his 70's now and while he FINALLY saw them win it in 1994 after 54 years of trying, I'd love to see them win it for Connor and his family and for my father as well too. I don't know how many more years I'm gonna have with him so if they could put the smile on his face one last time, that would mean a ton to me, no question. Don't know if it'll happen or not but with a quality coach in Quinn now, I see no reason why they can't. Congrats to Connor and his family too, this had to be really amazing, no question about it! Congrats for kicking cancer's ass 3x, big guy! Let's hope it NEVER comes back! :-)
Even Tavares / Islanders were The 2nd Team at NY ! Messier promised to Win The Cup / but There hasnt Been any to Do that for Islanders ! This Season - IS Better / but lets see when The Play Offs start ! I know Bossy - Thanks to Jets qSelanne passed HIM with 76 Goals !
I was 3 years old in 1973 when I was diagnosed with retinal blasphoma and lost my right eye. Lost an eye but gained a life. I'll be 49 in 3 weeks and still cancer free. I'm so pleased that he has joined this select group of child cancer survivors of which I am one. Much love to him and his family and circle of loved ones.
Great ! You LOVE hockey / We LOVE YOU ! There are BETTER GOALIES - but Hank IS The KING ! Even There is a Team Called KINGS at Los Angeles ! They are NOT Doing so GREAT ! God Bless
There aren’t many athletes that play in NYC who are like Henrik. Henrik is going to be missed so much. Rod was the most beloved Ranger first for what he represented as a Ranger. Henrik is on that level. Henrik is so so unselfish for what he did off the ice. Amazing. Henrik makes me proud to be a Ranger fan. I want more players like this who kids look up to and help grow the game. I hope Connor is doing well. What a great story
wonderful parents clearly a selfless kid hope the parents were covered for his treatment none of them should have to worry about money after trauma like that
This gets me so emotional but happy at the same time that Connor is feeling well and now he is Cancer Free. God was there for him! And wow! Such beautiful surprise for him. And as you can see he is a very strong guy. Other guys might start crying be seeing their favorite players but this guy was calm and happy at the same time. Good for you Connor! And God bless you! :)
This is incredible! Hockey gets implanted in hockey players’ heads somehow; I myself was diagnosed with a rare brain virus almost 10 years ago and lost nearly all short term memory EXCEPT for hockey-related thing (thought my mom’s name was Ottawa and my dad’s name was San Jose) somehow. Not putting the story on myself, just stating how I never would have kept a positive attitude without hockey similar to how this boy has! I hope he doesn’t have to go through cancer anymore!!
Hockey players are the most down to earth athletes, at least in US sports. That's because it has the largest mix of people from other cultures. Just saying. It's true, don't shoot the messenger.
We swedes are all the same. Nice people who cares. Sending hockey players to US and Canada and teach you guys play the game. 😋😎 god bless the kid he is a real fighter. 💖💖💖
Everytime I see Lundqvist I keep seeing the clip in my head of Nylander "tackling" him when they won the IIHF Wold Championship 😂. Thanks for sending us some of your guys..to balance out our teams 🇨🇦 even though my son isnt a fan of either of Swedish players on his team 🤦♀️🤷♀️.
@@naomimeekins well i guess your sons team pick the wrong ones. 😋 i just love the way how you pronounce the Swedish players name. You are welcome we keep sending players as long we can watch NHL on tv. Meekins that sounds dutch. 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
That is so true, growing up in Chicago and I remember seeing and talking to the Blackhawks players during the late 1970's and 1980's. I was lucky enough to work in a hospital that the White Sox (met Bill Veeck which was awesome), the Bears and the Hawks went to when they were injured and recovering. The Hawks players were so awesome. I met Terry Rutkowski, a nice dude, Reggie Kerr, Doug Wilson and .... They were the nicest bunch of guys and very approachable and friendly with autographs.
Noel FlipNVegas That's cool!.. I live close to Pittsburgh and Sidney Crosby is one of the nicest people on the planet.. What you see on TV isn't the half of it he does a lot of charity work and hospital visits that are not a part of the team or league promotions he does it on his own time.. Like every year the Penguins do a promotion where the players deliver season tickets to people that bought them each player makes one delivery gets some photos and that's that.. Not Crosby with him it's an all day thing going to several homes!... And Evgeni Malkin is another very underrated person he is just kinda shy and doesn't like the attention he gets..
I would love to sit on a couch 🛋 right next to hank I met him he was super nice and I hope we have a friendly reunion with each other one day I know that’s what I want I hope he wants the same thing
As a goalie, both daughter and son are goalies and my lovely wife is a goalie, this was priceless. Lundquist is a class act, as are most hockey players. As someone that has seen friends battle, win and lose against this horrific disease all I can I say is.....take the religious dogma out of this battle. Let the scientists and doctors do what they do best, save lives. No offense but stem cell research etc will save our elderly and our children. Pray for them..fine, but let's use all our collective knowledge to beat this ugly disease. We can do this together, regardless of faith or non faith. We owe it to each other and our children, the future keepers of this earth. No offense intended. Peace.

Does the kid even like hockey?! (I understand, he might be a bit shocked but he doesn't seem to be the least excited.) What´s the matter with that?! Perhaps if he would have been given a short contract, training with the team he would have seems excited I don´t know?! (Anyway - Glad he battle cancer in the way he does.) Cancer-free always beat a jersey. 👍
Smile, kid! Act like you appreciate all that they’re doing for you! Wow, pathetic. His lackadaisical attitude is borderline rude. You can tell Michael picked up on that. Had to ask the kid to smile for goodness sakes! I’m a cancer survivor and am very disappointed to see this. I would have been jumping up and down had Henrik walked up to me!!!
There is nothing miraculous about cancer treatment being successful. Even if temporary. The over-dramatic use of this word cheapens the reality that we only react to cancer rather than aim to prevent it. We don't come close to understanding the causes because we focus on treatments almost exclusively. Thus to say Connor was cured is incorrect and that his temporary remissions were miracles is also incorrect. I wouldn't wish this on anyone and am glad he has fought so well and come through so well, so far, and that he was recognized in this way. But let's stop with the miraculous talk, can we please? He overcame some long odds. That's not a miracle. It is a combination of medical knowledge, grit and determination and some luck, along with factors that we don't yet understand. Until there is a reason to invoke the supernatural let's tone down the hyberbole.
From a fellow goalie who's fighting Stage IV cancer, it's amazing what hockey can do for emotional healing. I hope one day I can say, I'm a survivor.
Stay strong and keep holding on to hope and happiness. You've got one hell of a fight right now but you're also one hell of a person and I believe in you surviving.
I believe in you you can win the fight. I hope you win really soon soon in fact I hope you win now. “Never give up.”
Keep fighting! Stay strong!!
May you seek and find the reality and love of God. Every tender blessing, Tendy-D.
