See a large collection of the German built Lanz Bulldog tractors being demonstrated. The models range from the late 20's to the 50's. The unique machines burn on almost any kind of fuel oil, even crude oil. You can see one of the first models built from 1921 and a very rare 12 horsepower Lanz Bulldog which at the time of our visit was said to be worth around $50,000. Like all the models from the 20's they had no reverse gear, so to back up the tractor the operator would crank the engine backwards to start the engine and move the tractor in reverse.
The Lanz Bulldog (model N) was manufactured under under licence, in Australia, by the Kelly & Lewis company where it was called the "KL Lanz Bulldog". These tractors were built from 1948 to 1952. Approximately 860 units were built. Even though they were an old fashioned design they were looked on as reliable and very cheap to run.
These are my favourite tractors... been watching them pulling against newer tractors is pretty interesting...
Even though I am International Harvester fan, Lanz Bulldog is another one of my top favorite tractors
I will get a model of a lanz bulldog for christmas, these tractors are interesting to me because of their 2 stroke design which is something new to me 😁
Lanz Bulldog tractor is a very unique machine and i am happy to see so many. Good luck, God Bless your antique club.
