@@TheCrochetCrowd Hi, I just want to say that I am not an advanced crocheter, but I am sure I can do this by following you excellent tutorial (step by step of course). Thank you so much for all the other add ons too as I always have to write down the rows I'm on. I am also trying to learn how to use crochet patters (graph ones) and I love how you have coloured yours, that really helps a lot too. Did I mention that your tutorial is excellent??? 😃
Hi Mikey. I just had to tell you this. My husband got my a copy of The Crochet Crowd Book. It is a Christmas present and I was astounded and beyond thrilled to get it. I have so much respect and admiration for you and Daniel. The book is incredible, well written and I just love the humor that’s peppered all the way through. Thank you so much for making me a better crocheter. You’re truly inspiring ❤️
That is awesome! Thank you for the trust to buy it. I wanted to be more sarcastic and tell really juicy stories but then you know, someone gets offended haha
This was a wonderful tutorial. I honestly got overwhelmed with the chart. Once I clearly understood the stitches, it was much easier to keep track of my rows and go to whichever row I was on and listen to you. It turned out beautifully. Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness! Every cosplay elf I know is going to want to learn to crochet now! This looks so beautiful. Thank you Mickey for breaking the instructions down 💙
I love this pattern. You make it really easy to understand with your diagrams and check sheet. Love love love learning this way. Thank you so much, you're awesome!
You do awesome, thank you. I just love pattern. The diagrams and check sheet was great. Because I lost my place a few times😁but get it together. Thanks again.
With my house getting so cold in the english winter, I absolutely love this idea - even though I will have to wait until spring when my fingers thaw out to crochet it ;D Thank you for this!
Thank you for the video. I've watched other videos but was not able to get this stitch until I watched yours. You were very thorough and watching the video gave me the confidence to finally get the stitch right. The time markers were a bit help too.
The cables are a challenge. it's why it's the highest level of crochet skill required. If you can solve the challenge, it means you are an advanced crocheter.
Oooh! This is just what I've been looking for! Living in the high desert prairie of Southern Colorado, we can have torturous winds during winter. Often a beanie just isn't enough! Minus 25 in the wind! Can't wait to make this! Thanks so much, Mikey, it's lovely!
Wondering I just finished making the hoodie and I sewed the back is the cable used for attaching the two back sides together or sewn on after the fact. Thank you
Beautiful. I love head coverings that cover my ears. So very kind of you to go slowly AND add a diagram and check list. I bet this would be gorgeous done with scarfie yarn. Thanks Michael for the tutorial and everything else you do.
Thank you so much for sharing this most beautiful hoodie shawl ! Perfect timing for this season; it is getting really nippy now over here in the UK. Also, I love the challenge this advanced project offers, would love to see many more of these, please ? xx
@@TheCrochetCrowd yes, really. I’m nearly done, 25 hours. One question: the back panel comes in at 120 rows while the sides are only 80 rows. Looking at the “finishing” steps of the pattern, it just says to join the sides to the back with a single crochet into each stitch… so….. how will I not end up with 40 extra rows coming off the top of the hood opening? Am I failing to grasp, something here?
@@TheCrochetCrowd Actually, it doesn’t say ‘single crochet into each stitch’… it actually says: “Seam along both sides of the cabling with a sc join, leaving an opening for the hood (see B on page 4).” And since the sides are, like, at a 45* angle due to the rows expanding, does that mean those edges are longer? Does that mean I should be trying to line up 2 rows of back panel into each row of side panel (for those expanding rows), then back to 1:1 for the straight, head portion? Anyways, thanks for your help and again thanks for the amazing tuto. Your teaching style and your use of a larger sample, plus the chapters, it’s just really great. When this one is done I’m going to attempt it again, but with the cables in a second colour.
@@TheCrochetCrowd ok, never mind, I’m dumb ;) I figured out my problem the moment I started the seams. I wasn’t counting the top of the head. All’s well. Done!
I've just started this! I have a little thick yards. I love this thank you so much! This had to take a lot of your time to get the pattern! Okay! BIG, just huge almost embarrassing question! I see this says it's also in closed caption. How do I set this up for closed caption? That would be incredible!!!!! I always have to mute mostly and slowly watch. I can hear but it's a tone loss problem. I can't distinguish sounds. So, mostly it's jumbled noises. Would be so great and FUN to finally be able to follow along! Thanks so much!!
Hi Mickey I’m almost done with the hoodie but I’m a bit confused with putting it together I ended up sewing the back part, but now I’m not sure if that’s the proper way because I need to sew The braided part or does the braided part gets sewn on after you sew the back. I don’t have anything off hand at the moment. You need a cable that stays worked on front only. This one you need both front and back for the design.

I don't at this time. I'm sorry.
Hi vary beautiful your toutral
Thank you so much 😊

Practical crochet.
Can’t you do this pattern without the cable stitch?
You could just make a back panel in single crochet or something. The stitch count across is 18 sts. So it's doable yes.
This looks stiff .. is it really ? If so can another kind yarn be used?
