I am 90 years old. I have never heard anyone play this concerto better than Serkin, and I doubt I ever will. Simply electrifying!
Unfaßbare Leistung von Orchester, Solist und Dirigent, danke, daß wir diese Aufnahme sehen und hören können.
My grandfather was born in 1903, so Serkin was the same in age. Thanks for his wonderful ferformance.
Age 83, amazing !
If you enjoyed this performance, you also might like the 83 year old Wilhelm Backhaus in the 1967 video of this concerto on the Vladivostok 1969 RUclips channel.
This is a marvelous interpretation! Another wonderful recorded interpretation is by Ivan Moravec (R.I.P.)
An excellent performance of Beethoven's most beautiful piano concerto.
We are so lucky nowadays to have the opportunity to listen to such brilliant interpretations as this one. Thank you very much for uploading.
This so beautiful and Serkin's playing is ethereal. It's a pity this video has few views.
I loved that man!
Exceptional ❤❤❤❤❤❤thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Exceptionnel de maîtrise.
Me maravilla oírle es.una gran interpretación de Beethoven que sonoridad más espléndida. Con lo difícil que es tocar el.piano, hay personas que lo hacen con tal naturalidad y perfección que parece fácil.
Every moment, every note is so touching. Very pure, very passionate. at the same time very sensitive. Feel like my soul is healing & sublimating.
Thank you for your arts channel content of now rare 70s-90s a lost Modern belle epoch of American music, arts performance
I’m glad you enjoy them.
Excellent ! Le Serkin des grands jours, mais on eut aimé plus de précisions sur le lieu, la date, l'orchestre et le chef....
Ich denke San Francisco Symphonie Orchestra, Dirigent Herbert Blomstedt.
Serkin was 83 when he performed this concerto so not "the Serkin of the great days" exactly but still, despite a few inconsequential slips, better and certainly mire arresting than just about anyone else.
Didn't know Bill Gates conducted
🤣
Actually it's George Will.
