For those of you saying "Well they took Red's blood, they wouldve know the DNA was female right away" There is LITERALLY an episode dedicated to a Doctor who changes DNA so your blood identifies as someone else. Of course its not scientifically possible IRL but this show is a spy mystery show. Anything is possible in this show. That episode was a little nod to show the viewers later that Katarina altered her DNA. All the little Easter eggs were brilliant telling you to your face without actually telling you
Doesn't need to change his DNA. The blood samples used in the show are from the REAL Redington not the imposter Redington. So of course they aren't going to show a female gender. Also, that isn't how DNA tests work they don't give a list of characteristics of the person being tested. They only come back with the results tested for. Just like when you go to the doctor and get your blood tested it doesn't come back having been tested for everything that could be tested for, but just tested for what your doctor specifically asked for. Unless someone was specifically testing for gender a test result would NEVER include that .
I think Red is Katarina 1. Do you remember in season 2, Reddington told Liz that he had her memory wiped to protect her from the trauma of killing her father and in season 8 episode 21 we learn that it was Katarina who had Liz memory wiped not Reddington. 2. At the end of season 1 episode 7, we see Reddington standing in front of a window and remembering standing there before and watching Liz play in the grass, that scene can be seen in season 8 episode 21 with Katarina standing at that window and watching Liz play in the grass with Jennifer in her arms. 3. The way Red and Kat folds their coats, check the first scene of s1ep1 and Cape May. The way they both kiss Liz, you can see when Liz was dieing, she knew they are the same person. 4. In season 4, when Red was talking to Liz about the Cabal, KGB and the CIA, he said they were after him. From season 6 going, then we got to know that they were after Katarina not Reddington. 5. Everytime he talks about Katarina, he says he knew her better than anyone. And knows even where Katarina put her things in Dom's home. Why do you think everybody who got to know the truth wanted to hurt Liz, if Red wasn't her parent. We now know that the real Reddington (Liz's father) is dead and Katarina is alive, so what makes you think it's not Reddington. These are my own analysis that convinces me that Katarina is Reddington and when you say Dom hates Red but loves Katarina, that's somehow true but don't forget he hates Red because all the time he says what you did to her, what you did to Katarina. My explanation is that he loved Katarina before working with the Cabal but hates her for working with the Cabal, for bringing all these things on herself and her family, so when he sees Red he remembers Katarina she betrayed him and worked with the Cabal and changed her gender. So he no longer recognises her daughter but sees a male criminal who brought destruction to his family. If you think Red is the real Raymond Reddington still then I don't know what to say to you. The question is why will he kill people who discovered his identity if his identity is Reddington which everybody knows. Why? This means he is not the real Raymond Reddington. And those people also saying maybe it's a twin brother or a cousin of the real Reddington, that's also crazy. How come we've watched a show up to season 9 with almost 200 episodes and no one has ever mentioned you. How? Although I don't like the idea of transgending and don't like transgenders but If Red doesn't turn out to be Katarina, I will be very disappointed. After all these sacrifices and help, who would do all these if not a parent. And those saying, they want red to be the real Reddington (Liz's father), do you know why they revealed that Katarina got burned in the fire season 8 episode 21, it was to debunk the fact that Red is not the real Reddington because from the start of the series, people were saying he is the real Reddington because of the burns on his back. Also remember the picture of Liz and Katarina? That episode when Liz was holding the photo and asked Red "were u there" and red said yes and then liz asked were u the one holding the camera/taking the photo and he was silent and changed the topic. Theres way too many proof in that show that Katarina became reddington to be close to her daughter. We saw Katarinas backstory and there was no man left to be impersonate reddington. Ivan was alive, ilya was alive, dom was alive, the real red was shot by liz. Theres nobody left except KATARINA.

The challenge with this theory is that it has several loopholes. It's almost like the show runners after Iliya Koslov couldn't find anyone else that could possibly be this new Reddington then they used the last 3 seasons to subtly amplify the Rederina theory (which they knew fans had already started making up) but weren't bold enough to outrightly say "Red is Katerina" because other fans will start outlining the loopholes so they just made it a grey area till the end of the show (neither true nor false). . .
They had the plan from the start. I see no loopholes. They would never have been able to get away with just hopping along willy nilly not having a plan for his identity with the network and it would make no sense to do so. The Redarina theory didn’t begin with fans, it began with the show itself. The reason why they couldn’t just outright say it is A) that’s not the blacklist. The BL is a restrained, vague, double-speak spy thriller. And B) NBC would never let them do that. They don’t have free rein. Red being trans? The network probably said “okay you can do this - as long as you make it discreet as hell.” Any pitch they probably wrote where he just says “I’m your mom” - they almost certainly said “no. You’re not doing that”.
The writers and Spader have said they new Red's identity from the very beginning. One of the writers said they hired a permanent writing staff in season 2, and during their first meeting the show creators revealed that Red was Katarina. There are also hints from the very first episode and throughout, buy the end of season 5 it was essentially confirmed that Red was Katarina. So, no they didn't choose to make Red Katarina because it couldn't be anyone else they had been seeding clues throughout the series and some people just missed it and refuse to admit it. There are no significant loopholes, what most people claim to be loopholes that I have seen are always misinterpretation or misrepresentation of the facts.

Also season 7 episode 1 when red is in the hospital bed the French officer says " I think maybe she did this to you?" Red slight smirk/ eye roll "did she?" Than he says "betraying her would be like betraying myself" ....interesting
Then why did Mr kaplan betray raymond, if he was “katarina Rostova” ? Coz Mr kaplan said she promised to liz’s mother that she would keep her safe. Didn’t Mr kaplan knew that red is katarina ?

I knew he was Katrina in season 6... I was very disapointed by the wokeness... Redington was a gentleman killer and was my favorite action hero... Better then all Marvel or DC univers... And they made it so woke... Shame
