For this generation of Mustangs, it seems there are the people who have them and love them, and those that have never owned or driven one and think they're dog shit. I think it's appropriate that this on the "Regular" Car Reviews channel, because that's what it is, a regular car. As if the obnoxious guy shouting from his apartment balcony about how his uncle's C7 Corvette would smoke us thinks we don't know this car isn't a track beast. This car is good-looking, affordable, pretty fun daily driver, and it doesn't have to be anything else.
+mmmTheMuffinMan can confirm, have owned 3 in this generation and love them. have actually become quite loyal to them. started with the v6, moved to the gt, and ended with an 04 cobra. love the style and feel, despite newer and better cars out there.
That was exactly me i hated these body style so much but then I bought a 2003 black gt and I absolutely love it it's not the fastest car ever but I find myself just going for drives not to go anywhere but because I just love to drive it.
i had a 2001 mustang v6 in this color for my first car i loved it it wasnt the fastest thing in the world but it was really reliable and an awesome first car
+mmmTheMuffinMan As said in the review, Mustangs are at least 50% about style, and this is hardly the best looking one to me (and others). I guess the look is divisive.
that cd was definitly by a high school student who smokes a shitload of weed and drove like he was in the fast and the furious when headstrong by trapt came on haha
I can confirm. My CD collection was much the same when I drove my 2001 V6 in high school. I do sometimes miss her, even though she obviously wasn't a track car. I kinda of want to buy the exact year, color, and V6 again just for nostalgia and because it would be cheap fun.
@Alex I'm in the same boat. Don't know why, but I saw one when I was about 5 and fell in love with it. I still kinda want one, even knowing that it's not that nice of a car.
I grew up in a family of Chevy Owners, so the 90's mustangs were taboo. I wanted a Camaro but guys who own them want lots of cash for them. So I scored a 2000 V6 Convertible mustang. I NEVER want to get rid of it.
I was 13 when the '65 Mustang came out. I was 65 when I got my '13 Mustang Coupe. V6 Automatic and the most fun daily driver I've ever owned. 305HP 287FP torque. Around 21 city. Love it.

Had a fox body and an SN-95. The SN-95 felt so small on the inside. And while the power at the time was "ok" these things get smoked by minivans these days.
Not, well maybe the 95-98 before the split port intake. But I'd love to see a minivan that weighs a fuck ton more than this car and probably at least down ~20 hp can smoke any sports car.
+Richard Herring My modern minivan (as mentioned by OP) with the stock 3.8L puts out 283HP in a 4400lb vehicle. It has better PWR than the 3.8L SN-95 Mustang. He is spot on.
+Fahrenheit38 some 4.10 gears, good suspension, some basic bolt-ons and a can tune, and they will pull on a lot more cars than you would expect. this car, similar to a fox body, is a platform for building now, not a car you would ever expect to be track ready. the abundance of parts at inexpensive prices make these cars almost impossible to beat in terms of the cost to make more power. i mean you can practically build an entire mustang just from ordering parts from a single website.
+Fahrenheit38 yeah but to be fair the vans have nearly 300hp. you could literally gut them, get bolt ons, cage them and race them lol! they wont kill alot of things but the fact that they do well is hilarious! the dodge caravan had a massive influence.
Sadly i cannot allow myself to drive a v6 mustang, for only the V8 is an appropriate foil to my 9 millimeter CALCUTTA PROM QUEEN BURRITO and MY LITTLE PONY levels of testosterone.
I Completely agree, but the joke is that no matter how good the v6 may be, there are still those who have such an inferiority complex that they wont get a v6 for fear that it would compromise their already dwindling masculinity.
These are the same BRO types that will talk smack about the ecoboost mustangs while they themselves drive late eighties foxbodies pushing out one hundred less horsepower from more than double the displacement of the aforementioned ecoboost.
If we are talking mods then I have to point out that a simple tune can push a ecoboost past 400hp, heck the world record for a tune alone on a ecoboost is 500hp.
NOT A MR. R. Review Roman, you're awesome! Thank you for the insight on a car everyone rags on! You guys are always enjoyable to watch/listen to as I work. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this review. I've been following Mr. Regular and have also wondered what your contributions were beyond the opening and closing song. I now know it's contributing excellent writing through-out. You're a champ. You're an excellent writer. This was a good one.
I've been watching RegularCars for years now, and I've been eagerly anticipating the review of my car. I've owned both a GT and a Mach 1 of this model, & it makes me ecstatic to hear a positive review for my favorite model mustang! I graduated high school in 2005, and I've been in love with this car ever since I was a freshman...Although I hear plenty of people rip on this car, I love it, and I love that you love it too! Yay!
This was when Mustangs were still called 'Rustangs' and beat on by 2.0 turbo imports. The V6 in this thing was a total dog too. In 2011 Ford finally shed the stigma and now all the motors have over 300HP.
Never understood the insult. I’ve owned my 94 for 22 years, and daily drove it. It’s seen snow a few times, but been caught topless in a rain storm more often than that, and not a speck of rust on it. And I’ve had the car torn apart numerous times to be able to tell if it even had such damage. Maybe they have problems up north, but what car of that age didn’t?
I ended up giving in to the mustang urge too and got myself a 2008 mustang gt convertible with the 5spd stick in grabber orange. It doesn't get any more 'murican than that, and although many judge it, it is my car and i love it. It has faults, but in all, it is the only V8 manual convertible you can get for the price of a 3 cylinder hatchback made in mexico and shipped to the US (focus and fiesta).
What makes it great is that like the Camry, comaro, f series and so on, the mustang evolves but it's roots (and its name) are eternal to the American perception of a great automobile
The 2011-2017 Mustang V6 is quick (I've owned 2 2014's), 305hp and 280ft lbs of torque. Compare that to the 4.6 Modular *V8* in the 05-09 which had 300hp and 315ft lbs
I miss my 2004 V6 Mustang Convertible, I still remember the day I bought it back in 2013, the feeling of power at the pedal, I bought the premium gas that day! Too bad I got T-boned on St. Pat's day by someone making an illegal left turn right into my passenger side... she never drove the same after that and I had to eventually let her go. Interestingly enough I ran into the new owner the other day at the gas station, I could tell because it had the matching scratches on the back cover plate of the drop top and the same aftermarket stereo I had installed; he seemed like a nice fellow.
Really reminds me of the one I had. Got hit by a truck about a month and a half ago, RIP, but it was the same color, same body style, V6, and came with two ridiculous CDs the previous owner had burned. It wasn't crazy quick, it didn't sound the best, it had reliability and maintenance issues, it was a pain to work on, the clear coat was falling off, and it was unnecessarily hard to shift smoothly because Ford forgot how to design proper manual cars apparently, but for a first car it was fantastic and I genuinely loved having it. Never gonna forget that car.
The New Edge SN95 Mustang looks so awesome. The styling fits right in next to a Honda Prelude 4th Gen or Acura Integra Type R (especially JDM style). These V6 automatics are everywhere.
This was a really enjoyable review. Really shows that the Roman is a full half of the writing team, it's the same tone as any RCR review but with a great personal touch.
***** In 2002 even SEEING an SR20 with our own eyes wasn't possible where I live. I remember the first time I saw one was around 2005 in someone's shop...I shit myself.
+Tyler Ashton Same for Jeep XJ owners. The little Cherokee with the inline six and a 5 speed surprised a lot of V6 Fox and F body drivers back in the day.
I've got an '03 Mustang base... V6... Automatic... But what Roman mentions I mostly agreed with. Sure, it's not particularly fast at all and the styling is a bit of an acquired taste, but it's a fun car nonetheless. A nice rumble can be heard which makes for a fun daily driver... which has already has cost me four tickets this year since buying 8 months ago (for hella cheap). For those on a budget, such as the broke ass college students like myself, i would recommend them.
I couldn't agree more with this review. The SN-95 isn't the best car in the world, but it's what I knew the Mustang as when i was a kid. So when i got a chance to grab one, I couldn't turn it down. It has it's faults, but it's special in it's own way.
***** I don't really mind the interiors honestly. They are generally pretty plain but that's how most cars from that era were, excluding more high end cars. I like the interior in my Mach 1 and I like the Cobra interiors also. They aren't fancy but I think the seats are actually pretty comfy, I've made some long drives in mine and never felt uncomfortable. The radios of course leave something to be desired but they can be replaced easily, and if they have the optional sounds system (the Mach 500 I think it's called) the speakers aren't actually half bad. Not audiophile level good, but pretty respectable in my opinion.
great review roman! please do more in the future! oh and perfectly worded. I got the same mustang as a daily and planning to get a corvette as my main chick!
Dude no offense, why on earth would you waste your time with a V6 SN-95? The 4.6 2 valve GT wasn’t even that fast let alone the 3.8 V6. I’m not trying to mean but that just seems so stupid, just save your money until you can get a V8
Not everyone needs a v8 dude. The v6 have plenty of power, it's easier on gas and especially insurance. I've got an 08 4.0 and it has all the power I want, it goes 0 to 60 in six and a half seconds so it's quite decent. Some people don't have to get a v8 to be happy with a mustang.
My '97 V6 is a manual, but it's got 40 less horsepower than the 99-04 V6's. It needed engine work when I bought it, so for the first few weeks it sat in my driveway, and I never drove it until recently. Since I've actually started driving it, I've learned to love it. It's pretty much my first car, and it's where I've learned the most about engines. I'm not gonna pretend it's fast, especially for most modern cars, but it's a great first car. And who knows, maybe I'll swap in some 99-04 heads and intake manifold and gain those 40 extra horsepower that the 95-98's are missing.
Exactly the same for me. I bought mine last in 2016 February with a blown headgasket for $500. I let it sit for a couple months and finished it up in november. The engine still runs really rough, but it was my first car and I learned most of what I know today about cars from working on it. It ain't fast, but it puts a smile on my face when I drive it.
lol, i don't ever plan on racing mine. The fuel/air ratio in mine is shit which makes the engine shake and put out barely any power. I'd wager it makes around ~130hp right now, and I don't have the money or time to replace the necessary parts. Maybe in the next year I'll save up for a manual GT.
Well my car's really grown on me now, so rather than finding a GT, I plan on eventually making it AS fast as a GT of the same year, either with extensive engine mods (Split port heads and intake manifold from a 99-04 V6) Or with forced induction. I just like the idea of having a fast V6 instead of a normal GT. XD Something unique that most people wouldn't expect.
One of my good friends had one of those. It was so goddamn amazing. I still remember the smell of Marlboro reds and new car scent filled the air everytime we rode around in it.
Good review. I had a 77 Trans Am and then a 2001 ws6 Trans Am. My girlfriend (now my wife) had an 02 v6 auto mustang. The Mustang was more fun to drive. It was drastically slower than either of my TAs but there was just something about it that was really enjoyable. I sold the Trans Ams and now have an 04 Mach 1 and 01 Bullitt. I couldn't be happier with them.
This review does a great job explaining why I've hated mustangs since I first drove one. For decades people bought a badge and loved to brag about it. I'd have a new one though.
+FAULT LINE might as well been one. it was a black 40th v6 same interior so just like this dudes car. except auto zone headlights and an exhaust leak she never let me fix
Oh my god, that playlist looks like something I would have made if my GOD DAMNED CD'S HELD MORE THAN 8 FRIGGIN SONGS! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO PICK AND CHOOSE 8 METALLICA SONGS FROM THEIR GREATEST HITS ALBUM?!?! *takes a deep breath* it's all ok now tho, I have a head unit with an aux port
I love my new edge. I got it in high school and it's been a huge learning experience. It went from a bone stock unloved base model GT to now a supercharged beast. I find myself constantly wondering if I sold it what would I get after but really there isn't much like these things when it comes to affordability, reliability, the ease of working on, and looks.

Love the video, buying one soon as my first car.
The New Edge SN95 Mustang looks so awesome. The styling fits right in next to a Honda Prelude 4th Gen or Acura Integra Type R (especially JDM style). These V6 automatics are everywhere.
I've been waiting so long for this
God it's been 7 years. Ive been watching this channel for 7 years
that was a good one, Roman! i love my '14 3.7!
Great review!
I'm so glad that the latest Mustang is available to buy in the UK now. Bit pricey though at £33k+
This was a really enjoyable review. Really shows that the Roman is a full half of the writing team, it's the same tone as any RCR review but with a great personal touch.
absolutely love my 00 SN-95 v6, glad this review is up.
Ah, the early 00's V6 Mustang; those were the days. Our bone stock, open diff 240SX's called them "dinner". And we were actually proud of that.
***** What?
***** In 2002 even SEEING an SR20 with our own eyes wasn't possible where I live. I remember the first time I saw one was around 2005 in someone's shop...I shit myself.
+Tyler Ashton Same for Jeep XJ owners. The little Cherokee with the inline six and a 5 speed surprised a lot of V6 Fox and F body drivers back in the day.
+harris3693 This. I loves me some 240SX but in stock form they were not fast.
Im sorry I beat stock 240sxs in my 99 v6 with a blown headgasket. And it was auto.
some of the "new edge" era fords have aged well, including the mustangs.
I feel that way about the Focus as well.
I like this a lot ! :D but not too often ! I appreciate the commentary Mr.Regular Junior :D !! Maybe now and again when Mr.Regular needs a vacation :)
roman once again killin it! looking forward to your next one
Roman the intercontinental champion of the world, macho man would be proud
i'm sorry but i think i'm too used to hear mr.Regular's voice to apreciate the video at its real value.
Was awesome to see my Grand fathers Mustang at 5:30. Thanks you guys for using it!
Best Roman review so far.
And ffs, officially the SN95s run from 1994-2004. "New edge" refers to the so called "face-lift" of the 1999-2004 models.
Hope that abomination is obliterated by some drunk in an SUV.
There is no place in this world for garbage V6 auto Mustangs.
I couldn't agree more with this review. The SN-95 isn't the best car in the world, but it's what I knew the Mustang as when i was a kid. So when i got a chance to grab one, I couldn't turn it down. It has it's faults, but it's special in it's own way.
Has its faults? It is nothing but faults.
There are no pros to a V6 auto Mustang.
@@Snadzies it's rear wheel drive at least....
@FirebirdCamaro1220 dont even bother this dude is hopelessly toxic
That playlist is dope and so is the 'Stang. Nice work Roman.
Great review. You did a great job!
How can both of you have killer voices?! Awsome video!
+Rasmus Törnqvist They both were journalists and worked in radio. Lots of time to hear their own voice and tone it.
Nicest Mustang body IMO.
agreed
uhm, have you seen the new gt350???
+theravenousbeast They have aged very well for the most part, if you ask me.
I think the 90s and early 2000s are the ugliest, give me a 69 fastback anyday
great review roman! please do more in the future! oh and perfectly worded. I got the same mustang as a daily and planning to get a corvette as my main chick!
This was a different watch on the whole, and I gotta say it's cool to hear Roman every so often. He's got a really good voiceover voice.
I have a 2001 mustang v6 bought it as my first car and I love it.
Dude no offense, why on earth would you waste your time with a V6 SN-95? The 4.6 2 valve GT wasn’t even that fast let alone the 3.8 V6. I’m not trying to mean but that just seems so stupid, just save your money until you can get a V8
@@elitewarrior0076 got it cheap from a family member
True that. XD I lost my first highway race with mine last night. In Mexico. In a video game.
lol, i don't ever plan on racing mine.
Dr: Agogo what? Here in Germany, the cheapest mustang is a four banger foxbody convertible for 1000€(1156$)!
Lovely review Roman 🔥
I'd have a new one though.
the more I watch this review the more I like it. I like how the Roman sounds more comfortable than in previous reviews
I love this channel... Roman, have a hello from Puerto Rico :D
My ex girlfriend of two weeks owened one. kinda sums up these cars for me
+FAULT LINE might as well been one. it was a black 40th v6 same interior so just like this dudes car. except auto zone headlights and an exhaust leak she never let me fix
"Reviews" is misspelled at the 8 second mark
Ayy, great work Roman!
Now that I'm getting over the shock of change (it's nothing personal; you know how change is), I'm enjoying your narration too. Thanks Roman.
*takes a deep breath* it's all ok now tho, I have a head unit with an aux port
metallica didn't release a greatest hits album
GOD DAMMIT YOU DO HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR A SLUSHBOX
I love my new edge. I got it in high school and it's been a huge learning experience. It went from a bone stock unloved base model GT to now a supercharged beast. I find myself constantly wondering if I sold it what would I get after but really there isn't much like these things when it comes to affordability, reliability, the ease of working on, and looks.
Roman, this is awesome.
