2 Timothy 3:16-17: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness". This verse implies that God is the source of the Bible's contents, and that the Holy Spirit used human authors to write what God revealed.
Even more amazing? The distances between certain particles in a single atom, are as far apart from one another (by scale) than a star from another star.
The Bible tells us enough for what we need but doesnt tell us everything about God. We shouldnt reject him based on our very limited understanding of things.
Actually, quantum science supports intelligent design and downward causation. It also supports the union of everything including believers and nonbelievers alike. So does the scripture you quoted in Acts. It says we are all offspring of God and that in Him we live and move and have our being. Pagans and Christians are one. Not in belief but in essence and life in God. Today’s science still upsets the theology of some Christians.

Maybe the vastness of the universe without life anywhere else is God's way of showing His creation here on earth just how much He loves them specifically and uniquely in consideration of and in spite of all other matter. It would go in line with those with a pre wrath/post trib rapture view. Rapture happens around the time/after the anti Christ is revealed.

Science addresses the intellect, religions/philosophies address the emotions. In terms of rationalization, there are problems with all religions leaving ample room to consider them man made and leave them. This doesn't mean that no Gods exist, only that humans don't have a very sound case, leaving the type of rationalization we see with irrational people attempting to poorly rationalize what they want to believe rather than the reality will actually support. Blessings and prayers have no consistency, leaving the kind of randomness one would expect to see from a person believing their lucky charm brings good luck at the expense of ignoring all of the bad luck.

Not acting hastily on emotions and reasoning things out is about being rational vs. letting the emotions completely win out to be irrational. Unfortunately, irrational people often don't recognize they are irrational and believe they are properly rationalizing despite contradictions to reality. Simply believing a God exists does nothing for emotional well-being, there needs to be stories and a framework involved in order to derive emotional well-being. Imagine if we could know that a non-personal deistic god exists and we are on our own with death being the end, what kind of spirituality/emotional well-being could be obtained? None right. If this were the case would people care that a God existed if there was no benefit other than a universe to live an die in? The two reasons people believe a god exists is they want something or they fear something. You can even see the differences between Christians in those who fear hell vs. those who like the idea of love.

Of course I am sure there is the dark side of people afraid not to believe for fear of hell that usually can be found in some raised Christian. If the evidence was as sound as you would like to believe, I think most of us would be Christians. It is generally in the crucial areas that one must take a leap of faith and assume the stories told are completely accurate, rather than partly accurate. I don't think the bible is necessarily made up in the way that one purposefully creates a fiction. Even today, we see people interpreting reality through a God lens and I suspect this is what the writers of the Old Testament did. The New Testament writers relied heavily on the Greek translated Old Testament known as the Septuagint to mold Jesus as the expected Messiah. God did not create the entire universe just to plop us on the earth. The universe was inhabited by the angels before us. Its called the Genesis Gap. The angels sinned against God and God flooded the universe. Do the research if your interested.
