Very pleased with your instructions - they worked for me! Only wish you´d have carried on and shown how to reassemble after. I had to work through the video again backwards🤣
I had the same problem but was too lazy to take the whole thing apart. So I just sprayed WD40 where the brush connects to the motor and it actually worked! Didn't have to unscrew a single screw. Thanks for posting this video 🙏🏼
Amazing! It took me a very long time as I had never done something like this before, but it is working. Thank you so much for sharing. We should definitely try and fix things more instead of chucking them out straight away! My motor was just stucked with hairs. Thanks 😊
Fantastic, another vacuum cleaner robot repaired! Well done. Hairs in the motor, typical. Why don't they design it so that dirt can not get into the motor..
The brush motor is stuck because a lot of hair collected in gap between the gear and motor body. Sharp and thin knife - all you need to fix the problem. In my case this helped at least :)
Interesting, that could be the reason for such a motor to fail, and how to repair it. There are 2 openings near the brushes of the motor, hair and other dirt could enter the motor there and get it stuck. I did not see hairs inside, but I will give it another inspection near the brushes and near the gear. Thanks for your cause and solution!
Thanks for the hint. The problem was in the gearbox, indeed. The bearing of the brush was stuck by the collected dirt. I propose everyone to check the bearing, it can kill the motor if it is not cleaned or replaced in time.
Ah so your gearbox did fill up with dirt. And next that can indeed kill the motor. Great that you could fix yours in time! How long did your vacuum cleaner robot work until it failed?
@@GiesbertNijhuis Well, not so much the gearbox filled up with dirt, the gearbox was relatively clean. The dirt was inside the bearing, almost invisible from outside. When I checked the bearing it was not turning but completely stuck. After removing the cover rings from the two sides of the bearing it was obvious the dirt filled all space among the balls, prevented the bearing from rotating. Of course you can replace the bearing to fix this issue but I had no spare bearing at home, so I spent some time on cleaning the old bearing and finally it worked out. The vacuum cleaner had worked for 2-3 years until it failed. First I suspected it was the battery and ordered a new battery, then a second new battery. Neither helped, then it was the time I consulted the phenomena on youtube and found your video, which helped me find the rootcause.
¡Gracias a tu vídeo he conseguido arreglar mi robot!
Thanks David, yea I enjoy repairing stuff, it is like a game where winning really matters. Usually it is dirt or just 1 part broken/loose/bent. Good for the planet and can save some $.
Thanks Bobby, yeah I am living this weird life; controlling my computer and wheelchair with headmovements and such. I can do almost nothing, but I need to create, how ever small and slow.
Hey that is super Rob, you fixed it! Yes dirt did it again. So strange that they design vacuum cleaners without protecting its parts against dirt. How long did yours work until it failed?
Good video, thank you. I have 4 beep error. When I take out the brush and switch on, I can see the connector spinning. Does this mean the motor and gearbox are ok? But the brush still won't turn. I'm nervous to take it apart... 😬
He tratado de poner lubricante wd 40. Y funciona.
hello, I had the same problem, but I changed the motor, but the problem was not solved, because it does not turn the new motor either. I tried the new motor an other same vacuum cleaner and there works it. Idea?
Hmm, so; the motor works. To test just the motor you can attach it to a DC power supply. I don't remember what my motor needs, probably 12V, but 6V will probably be enough to test. See if it runs, and how fast it runs relative to the other one (you have 2). Maybe one runs slower because of too much resistance. If both motors run ok.. Maybe one wire connector has bad contact? Did you try if the battery is good? If it is something on the electronics board, that is difficult or impossible for me, only thing I would try is to clean everything really well. Have you tried the reset? The reset did not help me, but maybe it works in your case; Click and hold the Clean Button for over 3 seconds. Good luck, nice that you are trying to fix it.👍
Thanks for the quick reply, I tried everything you wrote but unfortunately it doesn't work. I'd rather think of an electrical problem. I measured the main brush connection point and there is a voltage of 14V, so it delivers the current, but the system does not turn it on for some reason. I think, I will contact a service... :)
I tried that once, got halfway. Do want to finish a diy wind turbine some day. Probably a vertical one, as the horizontal ones are much more difficult.

Ha ha, that is one other way to fix it 😁

In my case was dirt inside the bearing of the brush, opposite to the motor. Thanks for your video!!

Same problem with my ilife A6, thanks for the video, it really helped me!
Thanks, yes always remember to shine your robots. Great vid mate🇦🇺

Your website is really interesting by the way! Really awesome that you made it with head movements! Inspirational, thank you for sharing videos :)
Thanks Bobby, yeah I am living this weird life; controlling my computer and wheelchair with headmovements and such. I can do almost nothing, but I need to create, how ever small and slow.
Very useful ! Thank you very much. My Ilife V7S PLUS works again !
The motor outpout was too durty, endeed.

Hi, great video & info. Any idea where to find vacuum motor? V5

Nice to meet you. Your video is very interesting. i like it. Have a nice day, good luck, I will watch your video
Glad you liked it 🙂

Will you make wind turbine?
