Kerala is one of the finest places to find exclusive arts and handicrafts. Metalcraft is the pride of God's own country, Kerala. Bell metal brass casting is one of the oldest traditional art forms practiced still now in Kerala. Brass metal has been acquired in various metal art forms because of its gold-like appearance, lustrous features, and its combination of high workability with hand tools and durability. Even now few artisans from Trivandrum practices the Koftagari style of work in figures of deities, landscapes, floral designs, and fancy articles.

On the one hand, I respect their skills and being able to make a living in that place. On the other, I feel sad for their lungs and eyes. Molten zinc fumes causes 'metal fume fever' (The white smoke shown) and also those fine slivers of metal :/

No machine/ scientific modern technology is used till now like Muradabad n all. So sad. It is very hardworking for d Kahars in Assam...no Govt initiatives......😭
