@@lattehour1 way around that is to dispatch yourself and then just have broker email rate con to dispatch, thats how I do it and I'm leased onto a carrier. I know from the start the rate bc I negotiate it myself

DAT should be held liable for being complicit. The company that burned me, King Heaven, was still posting loads AFTER the notice of bond cancelation was put out. Another broker, SEL Supply Chains Solutions, is STILL posting HUNDREDS of loads a day, and their bond got canceled also.
FMCSA needs to step up and suspend MC authorities immediately the moment they file for bankruptcy until the air gets cleared. Whether carrier or broker.
I have called the FMCSA many times for many different issues. The response is always simple. They dont care and dont know how they can help. Try calling them and you will see what i am talking about.
I booked 2 loads through them, and it was one of my first loads as a new authority. I haven’t booked one since 2021. I noticed how they kept messing around on the loads. Even though the 2 loads we did went fine. DAT definitely be in sucker moves. DIY should catch them when they go live. Watch how they ignore and sidestep everything
Did a load for Surge 2 or 3 months ago. Went through the factoring company, and for all I know, everything was paid. It really sucks. One of the worst things is to do the work and not get paid.

Pretty sure they paid the factoring company because they money longer were a smaller company O/O would unfortunately have to eat that as a loss, because their money isn't that long....
I also use factoring on my loads never had any problem better not to deal with brokers when it comes to money they make you wait anyway factoring pays out same day or next day and if they approve the load for you to do it then they will pay you for sure
You need to get a lawyer and sue DAT cause if they’re still allowing it to happened with the complaints being filed. Then they’re at fault. Once you engage a lawyer. Then legal gets involved and if it has heart a group a people then a Class Acton Lawsuit can take place.

There needs to be a law to require companies to formally disclose that they are in bankruptcy when they do business with people. In this case they should be required to disclose it on the load board.
You have to file a complaint form and they'll be an Investigation you call any Government offices over anything they will tell you they don't Care anything without paper work,I am an Independent Dispatcher

I was burned for $3300 by a broker called King Heaven. I filed against their bond. Their bond was canceled on July 6, so the bond company is taking claims until August 5. I'll then get an answer 10 days after that. Luckily, I filed long before July 6, so I'm near the top of the food chain. But I'm not worried. The shipper was Amazon in Henderson, NV, and the receiver was Amazon in Wilmington, IL. So, the richest company in the world was the sole beneficiary. I called Alexander Witton, and they said that currently, they are settling with Amazon for 50%. I told him, "No thanks." AW just wants to collect quick money with minimal effort. I'll go after Amazon myself if the bond claim doesn't make me whole. They will lose, and I will also ask for court costs and attorney's fees. I doubt that Amazon will want to fight for a measly $3300 and risk having to pay more.

If they owe close to a million or more to thousands of truckers..you won't get much.. because their bond is only 75000. Whats weird is how DAT allows scammers to post fake loads from other accounts with companies logos but a good way to tell is if their email doesn't have the company name in the @ and I always check for a reference number and if it's posted under a brokers number I always call the company direct and check about that load so don't book if you can't call the company phone number direct it's a scam if they don't have a proper email

Nope--not when they are in bankruptcy. All of that debt will likely disappear. Only thing carrier can do is go after shippers and receivers because they are ultimately responsible for the carrier to get paid to haul the freight. (I am not an attorney and this is not legal advice).

My answer was: your not taking back loads, your only hauling one way, and the loads you are getting, have been middle manned by multiple brokers already. They keep skimming it.
Nah we just need to go back to cash upon delivery or just like when we order something we pay up front before it ships. Maybe we just simply need to get paid upon shipping. Truck don’t leave with freight until bill is paid in full. With a money back guarantee if freight’s destroyed in an accident. Break downs with just need to be rescheduled plain and simple.
Evidently you do not understand bankruptcy laws. They are allowed to continue to operate until restructuring in complete in order to not shut down and service their creditors. Why are you guys not running credit checks on these brokers before you do business with them? First thing I do is run the broker credit before I even call them. If their credit is bad I don’t care how much the load paying I don’t call them. I only book freight with brokers that have good credit.
Its called a civil court system. This is separate from criminal court. When you sign the broker agreement you are basically agreeing to be defrauded. This makes the white collar crime legal. They take the money file bankruptcy walk away and start a new brokerage and do it all over again.
brokers are crooks , i am glad during my trucking companies years i didnt get robbed completely . those people involved from top to bottom should be in jail.
I will never understand why we don't demand our money immediately before delivery as an industry. They get their money upfront (the brokers) I'm sure of it. Hopefully this will change that but i doubt it.
I told the broker i wanted payment in full upfront or on delivery and they laughed and got the load pulled 5min later for less money with a 30 day promise to pay. So i tried the next broker and the same thing happened. That is when i went and got a 9-5 job like the rest of the world
You have a remedy in bankruptcy court, request to appointment of administrator to do accounting, then see where money went maybe criminal charges from that.

Usually when a broker owes a small amount of money we usually call the company that we hauled the load for and they 95% of the time will pay after a large investigation on why we didn't get paid, very unfortunate

Why are you guys not running credit checks on these brokers before you do business with them? First thing I do is run the broker credit before I even call them. If their credit is bad I don’t care how much the load paying I don’t call them. I only book freight with brokers that have good credit.

Its called a civil court system. This is separate from criminal court. When you sign the broker agreement you are basically agreeing to be defrauded. This makes the white collar crime legal. They take the money file bankruptcy walk away and start a new brokerage and do it all over again.

I will never understand why we don't demand our money immediately before delivery as an industry. They get their money upfront (the brokers) I'm sure of it. Hopefully this will change that but i doubt it.
I told the broker i wanted payment in full upfront or on delivery and they laughed and got the load pulled 5min later for less money with a 30 day promise to pay. So i tried the next broker and the same thing happened. That is when i went and got a 9-5 job like the rest of the world

I use factoring company same day pay before 12 pm next day pay after 12 pm
I use them trust me I will call early in the morning
You have a remedy in bankruptcy court, request to appointment of administrator to do accounting, then see where money went maybe criminal charges from that.

Usually when a broker owes a small amount of money we usually call the company that we hauled the load for and they 95% of the time will pay after a large investigation on why we didn't get paid, very unfortunate
