Noah Lyles knocks off Olympic champ in Paris 100m!

Even with an average start, Noah's top-end speed is elite. Just imagine what his time with a great start
usain bolt has a worse start and a faster end💀
@@nuggetysysysUsain Bolt had a far better start bro what? In his wr 100 his first 60 was 6.30 in this race Noah’s was 6.54.😭
@@nuggetysysys wrong.Bolt was known for a good start.
Hey this race here is about NOAH LYLES!! He ran down the fastest man Blake and past him (Yes) This isn't about Bolt his Era is Ova. 😊

Top end speed and power, incredible!
Right... it's really unbelievable to watch him do this over and over again
Usain Bolt will still smoke him 🔥

It will happen soon also to lyles
When Lyle’s begins accelerating, it looks like he punishes the NOS button. Crazy how fast his top end is.

It actually started with “in” and ended in “paris” 😂
When he perfects his start in the 100 it's OVA!!!!
He start was alright but he still caught and passed them. Lyles is a force
Blake had his peak and shine, and that was years ago , the fact he is still competeting even though hes not 1st anymore is amazing, and the fact that runners can still call Blake their competition is amazing
Powerful finishing by Lyles.
If he can get his start figured out he will be even more dominant than he already is.
He isn't even dominating 100 so you must be joking no one in that race is fast anymore against reasonable runner's he been beaten easily so far this season beaten twice by a slow colmon if you call just about making the top 3 in what i would call a slow time 10 seconds in us triles dominating your idea of dominating is different to everyone else
I feel like we've been saying this for a long time about his start
@@DG-iu8ckhe’s been dominating in the 200s. Chris never pointed out just the 100s. This is his first season in a couple of years actually competing in the 100s because of his start.
@@1youngkash actually it's not the first season competition he's been doing the 100 he's been doing 100s in the dimand league for the past few years

He stopped eating ox tails. Now his true talent has been revealed.

Lyle's got that 3rd gear while everyone else stays in 2nd 🏃💨

He holds his Mav V position so smoothly & it's consistent. Amazing!

How Blake is fading is painful to me. I like that dude very much.
Old age is setting in …
Me too 😢😢😢
Ahh he’s just been doing this thing for awhile, he’s getting old
he was never the same after that injury
Injury is the biggest enemy of athletes
Blake’s declaration is mad. The beast era has ended 😞 well it ended couple years ago
Not necessarily, ofc he'll probably never be as good as he once was, but last year was his third best year ever, and the best once since his injury in 2013. He ran 9.85 last year which is about what he was running in 2011 which was the year before his 9.69

@jr6511 Thank you for this deeply insightful comment. I'm curious what makes it fake, it's ratified by World Athletics, has a +1.0 wind which is perfectly legal, and was held at the Jamaican National Championships, which makes it highly unlikely that they would make a mistake with wind gauges timing etc.
@jr6511 honestly you might have a point, cuz looking at his other races that season, he only broke 10 seconds 5 times in 2022, and 3 of those were within 2 days at that same track. Doesn't mean 100% it's fake or invalid, but it's definitely worth noting
Can' t see Blake running behind.
I love Blake’s start 🔥 now imagine if Blake regains his form 🔥
Blake needs to retire
Blake is too old but amazing starts
Hate to say it but Blake needs to hang it. I hate seeing legends looking like this.
Blake has already surpassed his prime around the Bolt era..
so bad for him.its so unfortunate that he had to face Bolt the legend

Lyles got helluva top end speed

That Italian dude was a one hit wonder 😂
It is glorious to witness so many gifted athletes, men and women... Noah has a slow start but has very good acceleration!!

It’s not so much top end speed it’s that he holds his top end speed longer than most people. As the race goes on those people slow at a faster rate than he does. You can measure this by tracking the first 50 and the last 50. His first and last 50 are very similar compared to these other guys whose first 50 is significantly faster than the last 50
This was such an outstanding race. I’m so impressed with Lyles. And he has an uplifting personality!! We know Bolt, Bolt, Bolt. Can we enjoy the people that are racing these days!! PLEASE???😩😩😩
Nope. Bolt ruined the sport for everyone. Something left the sorry when he retired. Can't explain it but something definitely left when he retired
2012 Blake is non existent. It's sad but most things don't last forever. Wish him the best tho
Lyle best asset is his mind. He is relaxed under pressure in my opinion

Lyles is amazing. Can't wait to see how he does in the Olympics
Literally LYLE is the New Kid on the Block.
Knighton
If Lyles can perfect his start in the 100m he will win many more 100m races. He gets upright too early. He needs to start the 100m like it's a 30m race.
False - he doesn't get upright too early! Ben Johnson got upright earlier than anybody; even did Carl Lewis, and Linford Christie, so many other top sprinters got upright in time!
On the contrary - many sprinters are leaning forward far too long - getting upright sooner would've ended in faster times!
In the fastest sprint we've seen, the 150 meter world record et by Usain Bolt, the sprinter who normally gets upright after at least 25 meters, got upright after maximally 15 m! Plus: the record was set in unfavorable conditions for sprinters - relatively cold weather, and a wet track after heavy rain!
Ignorance makes people believe that the sprinter has to lean forward as long as possible to accelerate optimally quickly and achieve his/her optimal top speed, respectively decelerate as little as possible!
People forget that one also accelerates while being upright - let me again talk about Johnson, Bolt, Christie, Lewis, etc.,...
@@johnnwako2488 Wrong. Ben Johnson got beaten by Lewis repeatedly when he popped up so quickly. It was only AFTER he roided up that he was able to pop up that fast and beat Lewis. He was able to do that because he got much stronger. Lewis and Christie never popped up so quickly, they just got beat out of the blocks and had to straighten up quickly to get into drive phase to catch up.
At the start n most of his 100m races Lyles is a step behind the leaders because he straightens up too quickly. He needs to start 60m and 100m races the way he started the 200m race where he ran 19.31. He blasted out of the blocks without popping up quickly, accelerated and was the 100m mark before everyone...that's the way he needs to run the 100m. If he can consistently run like that he can get close to 9.58, or lower.
@@winstonpearson5282I see where you are going with this... 9:58 or lower??
@@FindingTheTruthMinistry it's possible if he can perfect his start.
@@johnnwako2488 That is actually not true at all. In sprinting your drive phase is important. You would be completely stupid to halt your drive phase and cut it short just to be upright quicker. Drive phase is where you build speed to maintain in top end speed, which is where you are upright. The shorter your drive phase, the quicker you start to decelerate in a race because you've shortened the amount of time it took to build the speed. Noah needs to stay patient in his drive phase. He went 19.31 BECAUSE he finally trusted his drive phase and didn't pop straight up. Carl Lewis was historically known as a terrible starter. If you watch any of his races he's behind because he's upright within 4 steps it's awful. So he had to rely on his top end speed every race.
It's not a matter of "leaning forward" for as long as possible, that's a bit of a description that does not describe what a drive phase is. If you are plainly "leaning forward" then you are not driving properly. Your drive phase is dependent on you as an athlete and what works for you. Some people drive for 25 meters, some for 30 meters, some drive for 15-20 meters it just depends on the athlete but you have people like Noah you are up at like 10 meters which isn't good. At that point you have barely built any momentum.
Omg he ran as perfect of a race as you can he gradually extended his stride n hit his top in speed at the right time to have a little burst the last 40 meters ...I want to see it in the Olympics
That start wasn’t good him and Sha’carri have the same issue ….the starts. Noah has the speed to overcome it. Sha’carri does too but her top competition are world record holders and she can’t make up that type of ground on them lol.
Crazy thing that’s not even Noah top speed ..that’s why he a beast at the 200m

Yes indeed, amazing!

Did he just walk my man Blake down? Noah got some good top end speed.

I feel bad for Blake ever since that injury, fastest active athlete on paper too 😭 massive props to him for still running

Idk how to explain but him being the 200m world champion is how he can clear the last 40 m of a 100m and win even wit da start he had
