  • Michael Messer reproduction of the Dobro Fiddle-Edge resonator guitar.
This comes with a 10.5" Dobro cone & off-set spider.
However, just like the originals, the resonator well has two shelves - one for the 10.5" Dobro cone, and a lower shelf for the 9.5" diameter National type, biscuit-bridge resonator cone.
So, I took out the Dobro cone to try the National type cone. I installed a National-Resophonic cone and biscuit just to see what the guitar would sound like. Think it sounds pretty good too.

It's really good to see you back on YT! :-) It's a beautiful guitar, and a real 'tour de force' from what I understand. It sounds better with the national cone, at least to my ears :-) Thanksa lot for sharing this with us

Duh. I had missed the description listening to your sound and sent a comment. Pretty cool that it has the two places to accept either type of cone. Your playing it’s great

Have you ever learned "12th Street Rag"? TBPH I just think it would be a bit funny because they used it in SpongeBob, but it's also a pretty good tune and I think it would sound good on this reso. Love listening to your playing man.

      Just …… strings !
      13-56 D’Addarios - I put those on when I changed cone.
The guitar came with 15-56 MM Newtone strings
